And personally I’m fine with a cut dex, there are 1000+ Pokemon at this point and making sure each and every one can be playable in the new games would take away development time that could be better spent elsewhere. The jump to 3d has taken its toll on other parts of the game that need it. SV needs more debugging and I hate that they didn’t include level scaling. SwSh was so boring the only thing worth going back to is the max raid dungeon. SM stoped you way too often for unnecessary dialogue (especially early on). XY was way too easy it’s not even funny. The 2d games were so good because they didn’t have to make everything look good from every angle on top of making hundreds of Pokemon models and move animations. They could instead devote that time instead to making interesting and memorable characters and stories, regions that felt alive instead of 500 buildings you can’t even enter because that would take even more time and money to create room models, people who live or work there, dialogue, potential quests, or battles with unique teams and move-sets. Side games like the Legends and let’s go games are a chance to catch up on Pokemon not found in the main games and do some of the leg work for a mainline game without the effort of creating a whole new region, new Pokemon (besides regional variants), and a whole cast of completely new characters. I completely agree that the new games aren’t as good as the old ones but I also understand that it takes a lot more effort to make a 3d model than it does to make a pixel sprite.

“Releasing simultaneously” seems likely to be hinting at releasing on both the switch and the upcoming successor console. Pokemon games always have a game on the old console after the new one comes out. (BW2 on the ds even though the 3ds was out and USUM on the 3ds after the switch came out)

I kinda just want there to be a single app that I could potentially buy for switch that'll have all of the inaccessible pokemon games on it, regardless of if they're spinoffs. So many games have a lot more glory left in them that could totally be accessed by emulation. (Especially since none of the main pokemon games have even returned on the gameboy emulator for switch)
