Okay, this is online only? Thanks for the info. That's unfortunate IMO. I'm an offline gamer, preferring AI cars instead of real players.
I don't know what all of the game features will be in terms of single player. In terms of online, like just about everything it's all online, TDU has always been focused on an online world.
As a classic Test Drive Unlimited fan, I certainly admit Solar Crown looks better than the previous two games (excluding the Platinum fan mods) so it's a shame I'll never play it unless they add an offline single-player career mode like the previous two TDU games had.
@@SteveBrandon This being set in its own new 1:1 map, really nice. I do agree, having this playable offline would be cool. Good to see you again, Alan. In regards to contacting the devs for feedback, I've actually been trying to contact EA for their F1 games but there is no way other than submitting a support ticket which is unlikely my message will get across. I feel some AAA devs will forever leave community feedback unheard in favour of appeasing their shareholders.
@@TeamVVV That's a shame. I was going to ask if there were any reasons for removing the older F1 Games (Licencing aside). Before CM got purchased by EA they kept their older titles available for purchase on Steam as far back as F1 2012. But not since they are under EA, games that are two years old are set to be removed. Like F1 2021 and now F1 22. Not a very favourable decision amongst gamers.
My concerns with the online requirement would be entirely quelled if they would commit to working on ensuring the majority of the game remains playable once server support ends. Absolutely, all valid concerns. An emd-of-life offline patch should ideally be made available to all games to enable play in some way. I will also pop the question to the devs if I get the opportunity.
Nope, the game requires an online connection (From Newsletter #7) "For various reasons, these social features require an infrastructure that is constantly connected to online databases: leaderboards, races, inventories, moderation, live events, anti-cheat measures, and the overall game experience. This gives me GTA online vibes, in terms of the racing, not the shooting. I had loads of fun racing in that, and this looks like a better way to do it. I’m interested in this now, whereas I wasn’t before.
@@TeamVVV ok thanks. For me giving feedback to game developers is so hard to find the right contact. Could you or anyone send my feedback to the devs on my behalf please?

I think some of the 'misdirected' criticism toward TDU is due to the belief that it's not too late to influence this game, whereas the community have given up with Ubisoft killing nostalgia or NFS having cockpit cameras. The 5% campaign was from a community Project CARS trailer in response to a quote in an article from a Codemasters representative.
@@TeamVVV I just hope it's not like with Taxi Life, where they promised wheel support and now everybody is just disappointed because it's not included for consoles. Do you know if there's any official news of the developper of TDUSC which wheels will be supported on PS5?

I could go on, but obviously this is just dumb, not to mention the game would lack clarity, and i feel that because so many people want x y and z and the cake to be eaten as well, many of the racing games with good resources just evaporate into obscurity because they feel like they only like one segement of racing games when they have not even thought about the others. P.S Play super woden GP 2 :)
If it's still playable 5, 10, 15 years in the future, I'm good. If that's through an offline patch or releasing required information to enable fan made servers, doesn't make much of a difference to me. TDU1 and TDU2 still function as games, I just ask for the same. That said, I wanna experience Hong Kong again (loved the world in Sleeping Dogs and I get the same vibe with Solar Crown). I've really missed the TDU experience and I'm itching for the day it releases
Seeing this I just want to buy the house close to the beach. Drive there and change the interior 😅 . You can even find video's of Ferrari in a rally. Think it's a 360. And a Gallardo doing rallycross both in real life. I already love how it looks. I have ray tracing and other effects of on 90% of my games I don't see the special in it 😁 . Maybe it's because I'm old and started with games on cassette and floppy disks 🙈 . Exploration was my favorite thing in old Test Drives and the long races around the island. And I think there was a cruise or something as well that was long. Just hope it has enough to do alone as I'm not much of a online racer.
Yes I've seen Ferrari's rallying, they do look odd. The game will evolve over time, I'm sure there will be more to do, though racing will always be an aspect, it is good fun and less stressful than other titles.
Welcome back, Alan. As far as attacks on racing games. Some gamers only want their games to exist. Over the past 10 years I've seen *some* vocal Forza Horizon fans go out of their way to bash racing games. Hell, even games that are not in the same category (DriveClub 🤦🏾♂️)... then that shifted to the Crew Series.. and now it has shifted to Solar Crown. I know not every Horizon fan is like that. I'm sure some are excited to drive around in a new beautiful environment. THAT is what makes having these different Studios create these different games great. We get MORE beautiful locations to drive around in. What's bad about that? Anyway what excites me about this game is how the cars interact with the road/surfaces. Seems like it will be fun to just drive.
As much as I want to be completely against the always online nature of this and just about every game for the fact that when I pay for it, I would like to be able to play it for as long as I would like to because I bought it, I have to say that I’m intrigued by the community aspect and I hope that this is a fun part of this game. I am significantly visually impaired, and do not have the ability to drive in real life, this game could afford me the chance to cruise around and hopefully make friends that enjoy doing the same Even if I bump into them from time to time. I would just hope that maybe there would be a way to patch in some sort of off-line experience so that when this game inevitably closes its life cycle, there is still a way for me to enjoy the amount of detail, depth and passion these developers have placed into this world into these cars and into everything that test drive unlimited claims to be. I haven’t played one of the TDU games before myself, but I’m looking forward to this potentially being the first time I do so. I hope this point makes sense and I really like the way that your video was constructed, thank you for giving credit to the developers who works so hard to make this game and I hope everybody else has a fantastic experience when the game releases
i just want a fun racing game , if i can have fun racing and driving that's what matters to me, lets hope there's some arcade elements in the game-play overall game design.
@@TeamVVV you can enable frame gen on any RTX card by switching it to AMD's FSR3 with a mod. and do you even know for sure that this game supports it ?
OMG!!! Alan is alive. I thought that maybe you got kidnapped while on holiday in Mexico. Then you got dumped in a hot desert in the middle of nowhere hence no videos.
I have no doubt that the game is going to be good or even great. However the idea of spending 100+ dollars on a game that effectively won’t exist in 8 years after they shutdown the servers is a big ask, especially with the economy in the state it’s in now. Every racing game that has released lately with a heavy online focus has had the ability to play offline, Forza, Need for speed, Gran Turismo ect. The only one that hasn’t, has been The Crew. Although that’s a terrible example as Ubisoft recently shut down the servers and the game is nothing more than a paperweight now. People even did some data mining and found that it only would’ve taken a change to two lines of code to make it playable offline. Something Ubisoft couldn’t even be bothered to do and they’re one of the largest gaming companies on the planet. The most fun that I can get out of The Crew now is to take the disc outside and light it on fire. I absolutely love retro gaming And crap like this is going to destroy it, no one is going to remember The Crew series or even care about it because in 15 to 20 years none of these game will even exist, which is a damn shame, because all three of them are quite good. Adding the ability to play offline isn’t difficult. It wouldn’t delay the game for a month, not even a week and it’s absolutely something that Kylotonn need to address. If not at launch then soon after with a patch.
These concerns are all valid, I relay this to the devs and they read your comments. Let's give them some benefit of doubt and see what transpires and if the opportunity of a dev interview comes up, I'll pop the question.
@@TeamVVV Thanks for the reply! It’s still my most anticipated racing game in quite some time, they seem to have perfectly recreated the vibe of TDU1/2 and Hong Kong was a fantastic choice for a setting. I’m just worried about preserving it for the future. Great to have you back btw!
I really hope this game gets forza and the crew to become more ambitious. As much as the original crew had its faults, it was a very good effort, but nothing in the past 10 years since has attempted to have the same ambition, just safe and boring game releases. I think its a problem with games in general and not just racing games.
After writing this, I've just found out that the crew 1 is going to be unplayable after the end of this month, that is a complete joke and perfectly sums up everything wrong with modern gaming 😮💨
No, Ill come back on that later. As dev said, Demo is old, I'm looking forward to being able to show more representative gameplay if the opportunity arrises.
@@bjank4598 No they aren't, because too many players are buying into online services that are part of the problem. While also being selective on the products they attack which destroys any clear message. TDUSC hasn't even outlined its full plans yet.
@Kortex_Racing I hope so. I bought both tdu and tdu 2 day one and was massively impressed with both. However, the actual game play that has been shown looks more arcade game the way the car bounce off barriers and each other and the general handling of the cars

The latest Forza games were so boring. I'm looking forward to test drive for something fresh. Great video btw!
great video alan, every bit is well said!
i always like your talk

Nail on the head when you said 'TDU is about the vibe'. I hope this game recaptures the magic of the first 2.
Tdu 1 whas realy a perfect game. I hope this one gonna be better.
What I've seen looks great, though it will take time and updates for the full game to reach it's potential.
so no news
Games a disgrace to tdu 1 after playing it.
@@FletcherRZX The same fate will befall the new TDU, as it will always be online like The Crew.
TDU:SC demo out and nothing from Team VVV? Is it because it's so bad?
No, Ill come back on that later. As dev said, Demo is old, I'm looking forward to being able to show more representative gameplay if the opportunity arrises.
@@TeamVVV Can't wait to see your take. :)
Looks like FH5, which released years ago..
High praise, an amazing result for the devs then. First party devs are always years ahead of everyone else for obvious reasons.
Don’t like community games. Can’t invest the time. Single player is where it’s at.
There are numerous things for players to do irrespective of the multiplayer aspect, as discussed in the video.
Always online = no buy .so nobody will really own it . Not thanks
@@carlitosbrigante6889 Not for you then, nevermind.
it’s just that developers need to understand they’re leaving a large group of players behind
@@bjank4598 No they aren't, because too many players are buying into online services that are part of the problem. While also being selective on the products they attack which destroys any clear message. TDUSC hasn't even outlined its full plans yet.
They drive on dusty roads without any dust ? Looks very strange..i'm not excited.
If you saw the video or the newsletter you would've known that they're still optimizing the dust effects
People comment without watching the videos, all kinda boring.
Why are ‘fans’ whining before it has released? The entitlement is strong with this generation. You don’t like it, make your own.
Always online = no buy
The "always online" hypocrites are out in force I see.
i was super excited for this game right up until i saw the gameplay, i feel its just a re-skined NFS at this stage
The gameplay you saw is probably the live lmreveal from 9 months ago, game changed alot and it's gonna be ALOT different from nfs or any other game
@Kortex_Racing I hope so. I bought both tdu and tdu 2 day one and was massively impressed with both. However, the actual game play that has been shown looks more arcade game the way the car bounce off barriers and each other and the general handling of the cars
Tbh , the clip looks very boring
What's makes it boring to you?
@@TeamVVV it just looks generic , nothing much happening, I’m still excited for the game though
@@jasoncarmichael4540 Alas an unavoidable situation as the TDU formula has been partially copied over the years. The strength of this game will be the physics and joy of traversing these environments.
So far i only have to issues with the games, the car selection, and the location selection, i don't know but HK isnt very exciting to me and seems pretty limiting
Where would you find exciting?
Wheel support on launch for console? I have to ask since Taxi Life… also release date?📅
Yep, excellent wheel support.
