"The more you learn, the more you realise how little you know", a possibly vicious cycle that may either keep us realistically humble, or lead to the impostor syndrome.
Our minds are wily at trying to keep us from stretching and expanding. I've learned to see my imposter monster as a talisman for growth. It's going to tell me all sorts of garbage but it's presence reminds me I'm growing and must continue in spite of how it feels. Thanks for sharing your tips.
I read a study one time that highly intelligent individuals typically have the strongest feelings of imposter syndrome. I’m not sure the substance of the research such as qualifiers etc. Nevertheless, your video aligns perfectly with what I read.
“It’s all made up.” I hear you sir. Thank you, this has helped me. I like playing make believe. I see how this can get me into society’s game. Everyone CAN do that. Thank you
I love your channel Mark... You have no idea how much you have helped me in the last 3 months... Many of your videos i have watched at least 6 or more times to embed certain helpful information into my memory!
Thanks for an another enlightening video. I didn’t realize I had impostor syndrome until I watched this😂 I think it is one of the reasons why I feel so uncomfortable with awards or recognition for my accomplishments. I agree with “it’s all made up” but I don’t really see how it relates to impostor syndrome. I have often thought about this “all made up idea” and feel that the vast differences we see in cultural expression support this notion.
Hi. why did you take the weight management video down/? I had saved it to watch it on my day off and couldn't wait for that advice! Why?????? overeating is a problem
oh you don't have to dig so deep in time for explaining why people feel this way. There are people like me who feel embarrassed by hearing their ancestors once lived on trees. I simply don't believe this, every social species of animals has rules for living together. People with this behaviour or thinking have learned to make themselves small, because taking ownership of their doing as children was dangerous at some point. I can very well remember how my mother will laugh at me or put me down everytime someone was appreciative or when I myself got proud of anything I did or had or was. So I had no way but feeling shameful for myself. Feeling good about anything would have meant punishment. Forty years later I asked her why she acted this way, cause now she needed my help and trying to tell me how great I am felt weird and fake out of her mouth. She said she didn't want me to become arrogant.
I should think truth is subjective at best. As it's based off of someone's awareness , feelings or knowledge perhaps.. So therefore truth is subject to change..hmm🤔 What do I know, just a thought..lol
I once was in a deep group meditation on a shamanic journey to meet my spiritual guidance. We were supposed to ask a question when we get to our spiritual teacher. In my atemmpt to feel some personal importance I had chosen to ask him "what is my highest truth? He smiled sort of kindly amused, a bit like this guy here, and said: "My dear, the truth is a flower with many petals."
I don't think he means "made up" as in fake, just in the sense that it didn't come from nothing - it was generated by society at various points in time. It's still very real, of course, but there is still room for growth and development in most fields. I'm sure you are very accomplished and those accomplishments are real. :)

Hm, is he The new Architect from Matrix 4?
You lost me on the its all made up. If that is true then all my accomplishments aren't real. That doesn't help me feel like a winner.
