His Dad gave him that harmonica when he was a young boy. His Dad passed about 5 years ago. He speaks, Portuguese, Italian,German & English. He also sings opera. He has an amazing voice.

A lot of metal singers actually have really well developed vocal skills and techniques, and many are actually capable of singing things along the lines of opera. Even more than the operatic ones, many metal singers either have, or get, classical training as well as additional training regimen for their voices
I agree 100 percent , ive always thought some of the heavy metal singers can sing the metal genre so well and song great while screaming lol , i can only imagine if the they simg normally how gteat they sound.
Interesting you should mention opera because Dan Vasc does have an opera cover on his channel (Nessun Dorma).
I agree as well. I lean towards heavier music anyway, but it's why I am so into metal -- the vocal instrument is my favourite and I find metal the most enthralling to listen to. So many textures! So much skill. I believe Vasc is classically trained.

Spent my life in church hearing that song. Many have performed it, and many have destroyed it. This awesome man put his heart and soul into each and every word. Whether it is performed by a church choir, seasoned stage singer, country artist, or even the great Elvis, this "metal head" shows every single person that he has great substance in his soul.

I was listening to the live stream where this debuted a few weeks back. It was either Tuesday NIght's Main Event, or more likely Friday Night Tights. This is a stunning, passionate and yes, hard rockin' version of "Amazing Grace."
Dan is a Classically trained opera singer and MetalHead - love 💕 this man and his voice! One of the best in the world-a true Baritone and his vibrato is impeccable!

Dan Vasc is wonderful. I’ve watched this video many times.
Here’s a bit of history that everyone should know. The Anglican minister, John Milton, wrote Amazing Grace in 1772. Before he was a minister, he was the captain of a slave ship, and was in the slave trade for about 20 years, until 1755. The wretch that he talks about in the song is himself. He became an abolitionist and helped the abolition movement in England that ended slavery there.
True. And the melody is thought to have been based on the mournful songs of the slaves.

We sang this song at all four of my grandparents funerals. So it deeply moves me and brought tears to my eyes. This young man was truly given a gift from his savior as well as mine.

I have probably watched his video of this at least 500 times, and it makes me cry every single time, and it gives me chills every single time. Absolutely beautiful. I read online that the harmonica belongs to his late father, who passed away of cancer a couple years ago, it’s just beautiful.

This is a true baritone and his range is amazingly smooth his vibrato is smooth and timed a true representation of baritone abilities. And the harp is the kicker to his voice the blend is perfect. It almost has a Scottish feel with southern influences. And his power comes from his passion for the song. That is spiritually blessed with a gift he refuses to hide as the lord commands be heard. This my friend is true musical power to its intent.
And notice one thing there is no Auto tune in this.

Dan is the man!! Never have I heard a more beautiful and masterful performance of this old timeless hymn! And I grew up in church. My father was a Pastor (still is at age 78!) I'm a PK (Preacher's Kid) and have suggested this and heard it probably thousands of times throughout my lifetime. The harmonica gets me every single time because my beloved Granny played it beautifully. I want this version at my funeral!! Can't wait to sing with him in Heaven!! God bless you and all who hear it! I find the harmonica and the bagpipes in the right place have something soulful about them, for me anyway. This is an amazing voice the range and the control sounds so effortless when he sings, so jaw dropping, perfect in my opinion.
