Let us not forget that VP Kamala Harris also flat out called Joe Biden a known racist during their Presidential Primary Debate, soooooo....of course people are capable of changing their thoughts and feelings based on learning more about a situation and/or person.
She didn't change her thoughts. Vance did, but Kamala didn't.
Kamala was from the left flank. And, it brought additional votes. It was rational. The situation is completely different here. There will be nothing additional. The angry left won't go to the other camp because of Vance.

Holding his previous views of Trump against him should not be a big issue. When Trump first entered in politics no one knew what it would be like with him. His record in office showed he was serious and a damn good President. Plus, think of all the people from the left moving over to the right because of him. Most of them hated him as well at some point. I think picking a never Trumper is a testament on how the MAGA movement can welcome all who want to learn the facts.

Thank you for this. You and Candace. I saw the comment section of one reactor and Brandon Tatum’s reaction. It was a bit upsetting. All they could focus on was the fact he was Never Trumper, basically, vowing not to vote for Trump because of it. Btw, he said this all BEFORE he got into politics. When he met Trump, he realized he was wrong and apologized to Trump. I was relieved to see Candace, Tucker and John Kennedy vouch for him. And Vivek. Especially Vivek, since Vivek and JD are friends. And they tell it like it is, even within the Republican Party.
I understand the importance of loyalty but if you’re not going to vote for JD, Tulsi, and even Vivek, then you might as well not vote Trump because he was also Democrat as well.
On another note, read Hillbilly Elegy if you want to know JD Vance’s backstory. The movie came out at the time when the whole white privilege narrative was getting popularized on the left. MSM hated it when the movie came out because his story ripped the narrative to shreds.
I am looking forward to the VP debate. I want to see Nicole’s smug look get wiped off and her delusion of Kamala Harris wiping Vance off the floor on the debate.

I knew Vance by name, but not much about him. I've been playing catch-up today, trying to find where I stand on his appointment as VP pick. So far, I think I like the guy. Would he be a good successor in 2028? That's the real question for me, as I think that continuity is an important consideration.

As a 65-year-old "whiteish" woman, I have been soooo upset. Seeing how Lou Valentino and Officer Tatum responded to the JD Vance as VP announcement got me even more upset. I just feel we were headed in such a great direction with Donalds Carson or Scott. It feels like we've taken a huge step backward now. MSN has all the negative things Vance said on a loop. It's sickening.

Hope is not a word that should be used when choosing team members. Sometimes you can make a wrong choice. It's like being in a minefield. There you cannot expect that the mine has changed, changed its thoughts, and decided not to explode. Even if Mina changed her thoughts to achieve some goal, she will still do her job. Very interesting book I guess the difference is, if you have been convicted are you better are more evil than your neighbor. Since we all break the law everyday.
