- Cape Verde is a tropical paradise off the west coast of Africa. The islands are popular holiday destinations for Europeans. What is there to do? For example, I often heard that Cape Verde would not have much to offer. They couldn't be more wrong! Watch the video and see for yourself that Cape Verde has much more to offer than a few beaches and coves. In the previous episode you saw the island of Sal with some natural wonders such as the Blue Eye and Shark Bay, where the sharks swim right between your legs! In the new episode you see how we cross over to Boa Vista, the island with the most beautiful beaches such as Santa Monica, Atalanta, Carbal and Estoril. From the capital Sal Rei we also visit the most beautiful church Nossa Senhora de Fatima and the Viana desert.
This year we travel all over the world and after the Canary Islands and Oman Cape Verde is our third destination. Really great video, also about Sal island🙏Much better and different to material from others about the islands as it shows also people and culture. Thank you. One question: what would you recommend for me (a single female) for 1 week: Sal or Boa Vista? I am so indecisive 😅 I don't want all inclusive accomodation but prefer to explore the environment from morning to evening.
Hi Krischie! Thanks so much for the compliments. I guess Sal would be a bit more fun, since there is a bit more tourism and some surfer or backpacker spots to find there. It’s really easy and cheap to rent a car or use taxis.
I'm Cape verdian mostly lived my life going back and forward between sal and Boa Vista.
And it's s such pleasure seeing all these beautiful image brings back memories thank you. And next time you go there make sure to go to Cabucona ,Boca branco and varandinha they are all on a rank

This place is amazing, I was at the exact same spot back in 2016 with my partner we travelled from Scotland. We had 7 days in a penthouse apartment overlooking the beach. We mixed with the locals, easy going and very welcoming. The hotel in your video with the roof pool, that was just a shell when we were there with a drawing on a fence of what was planned. It looks really stunning. The only downfall about the holiday was, while on the turtles tour, I ended up severely burned by the hogweed plant it took me 4 days before I could stand up! Thank for posting this video it brings back many good memories 👍

Guys, you must come to Santo Antão Island, the most beautiful island of Cape Verde Islands for sure, but also Fogo Island is very nice, the only active volcano is there.
São Vicente Island is nice also, beautiful beaches, the carnival is amazing.
In fact, Cape Verde Islands has many secrets to be discovered.

Because its low season now, no many ferries between the island and Boavista!

How much is the round-trip ferry ticket from Sal to Boa Vista and where can we buy it? Thank you very much, I really enjoyed your video.
The amazing view of the North of Boa Vista, João Galego, F.Figueira and C.Tarafes, is not yet well explored- Esgata, Calhau, as well as these villages' surroundings and way of living, as a whole.

Hi! I totally agree. Boa Vista has way more interesting places out of the tourist zones. We made a video on Sal too, have you seen it? We began the trip here and are still traveling after 1,5 years. We are back in Africa actually, after a hundred videos elsewhere. We would love to go back and see other islands in Cape Verde now. Have you been?

Sal is a bit more vibrant and has some more atmosphere. The beaches are incredible on Boavista, but it is more local and less touristy. I personally liked Boavista a tiny bit better 😁👍🏻

Haha this has two reasons.. one of them is that it was not very crowded after the whole COVID situation.. and also, I film a lot of it early in the morning, so it probably wasn’t very hot yet 😉👍🏻 it is however, great for swimming. Have you been to Cape Verde? And have you checked out all the videos we made after this one. It was in the beginning of a really long trip that is still going for 1,5 year now. We’re back in Africa again. Cheers from the family 😁🤙🏻

I don't see any paradise, but a desert island with little vegetation. I was in doubt whether to go to Capo Verde or not but now I'm sure it's not a place I'd like to see.
You do know Cape Verde has multiple islands? Sal and Boa Vista are just 2 of them. If you want vegetation, try Santo Antão. It's the most northern island of the archipelago and is mountainous and green.
I believe that these slums are there recently because a lot of people from other islands moved to Boa Vista in the last 10 years because tourism is developping there and they look for jobs there.
True, and especially in the Covid-period the people suffered a lot here.. it's a shame, but we hope there's a better time ahead.

It’s perfectly safe! It was early morning when I made most of the shots. I prefer not to put too many people in the shots too, so no worries. People do swim here 😁👍🏻

Hi Pablo, The best thing about Cabo Verde is that its very safe and the weather is clear and sunny all over the year, and temperature is moderate. people are very welcoming. I am basically and Indian and living in Boa Vista since last one year and it’s really amazing.
many Europeans visit Cabo Verde every year to avoid extreme winters and enjoy the sun on beautiful beaches.
