I’ve been loving the braids on you Melissa
Desmonae’ Lloyd thank you!
MrsKevOnStage you’re welcome
I dont know why Melissa only has 6k subs... this podcast is great.
It's growing!!!! I'm amazed how God is using her through this platform!
Yea Its growing! Its just that more ppl know Kev so they view the podcast on his channel (and are subscribed to him)
True...I watched The Love Hour on Kevin's page for a long time before coming to her page!
True. But her subscribers are loyal and not just people passing through. The bigger numbers will come though
Awww Liss! Don't be sad. We went through something similar last year. Kid went to Kindergarten so I went back to work. Less than a month in, kid quits sleeping, starts acting up in school,... poor child had acid reflux. Bottom line was it didn't matter that she had a ride to school, ate dinner every night, or had a place to lay her head. She wanted Mama and Daddy to pick her up, Mama and Daddy to eat dinner with her, and Mama and Daddy to tuck her in. I don't blame her. I'm grown and I still want my mom and dad.
Just started a part-time job, and I haven't technically told her I'm working. She'll figure it out eventually. Husband quit killing himself working overtime. Now we are available to support our kid. We don't do big trips or huge Christmas hauls. We do togetherness.
That job that my husband was killing himself working overtime laid him off. His new job came with a 40% pay cut. God blessed us with a new house anyway. And hubby gets two raises in the next 30 days.
The job I left gave me a beautiful reference. My new part-time job allowed me to make my own schedule, and when our family is ready, I'll work more hours.
I didn't realize I'd be testifying, but won't He do it?!
Theresa Lawson God bless you and your family!
The look on Melissa's face when kev talked about not pulling out💀😂😭
Malditanseantia they need to make that a gif
He’s so outta pocket. 😩
@@MrsKevOnStage LOL
Her facial expression was frozen in time (stuck) 😢😂
You all are making plain the fact that with great blessings comes great responsibilities and hard work. This is why no one should envy anyone else's blessings. No one knows what it takes for someone else to reach a certain level.
I love the fact that you all are not putting the almighty dollar above the needs of your family. God will always honor this and continue to bless you with the money getting opportunities.
T Grif amen 🙏 the truth
LadyTina G yesssss
Tee Hee! That was my That or This submission! I almost swapped it but I utterly hate my socks slipping down into my shoes. To have to choose between the two was sooooo hard for me...those were the two worst things I could think of lol. But I would probably choose the comfortable shoes too and just deal with the sock slippage. I feel Melissa...underwear hanging? Naaahh! Love yall! *back to listening* lol I was just excited. :-)
Laretta Williams go commando 🤷🏾♀️ problem solved
@@ChloeBaileysRightBootyCheek not an option lol. Got to be one or the other. No way out.
👊🏾
👍 good question Sis. Me and my boyfriend picks comfortable shoes too.!
@@chaosswa-ee-ty5911 thank you lol. I wonder if anbody would choose the other one 😂
Parenting is HARD, man!!! It's like - you have to find out what and when to sacrifice in order to make the best lives for your children while achieving your goals and setting forth the personal things you desire. Ahhhhhhhh... how people do this without the LORD, I just don't know!!!
Antoinyce Mathis it’s not easy!
Thank you for being so transparent. You two are definitely a gem 💎
xo_calibri thank you!
Good lighting!!! You all look GREAT!!! And Melissa . . . GUUUURL . . . I LOVE THIS LOOK ON YOU!!! You're showing up flawless from EVERY angle and you're subtly glamorous! #WellDone 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Eden Adele I loved the lightning too! Lol!
MrsKevOnStage Got 'chu lookin' like a college kid in deez skreets!!! 🤣👏🏾💯
Child....I am too sensitive. Go immediately and hug that baby!!!😭😭😭😭😭
cratlady03 I held him tight!
As a wife of a former soldier and now frequent traveler for the government, I appreciate the topic for today! Very relevant!. Love you guys!
Anybody else sitting at their desk at work crying along with Liz? 😭🙋🏾♀️ Man!!! My LO is only 22mo, but I sooo understand the need to supply kids with what THEY need, rather than hoping they'll understand why you're working/traveling/absent etc.!!
Kev be looking good now! Come on stylist!
im watching this 3/1/21. hearing Melissa say in 2019 that she wanted them to be home summer 2020 is WILD! especially because their family did get closer and blossom over that time. Life is so amazing and we never know how God is going to work. AMEN!!
OMGOODNESS!!!!
Soooo.... Im that person that stay in the comments... reading what the viewers were saying, Kev said.. "I don't pull out!!"... I was like, "how/where is that gonna fit in?" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I WASN'T READY!!!! I FELL OUT!!! AND LISSA'S FACIAL EXPRESSIONS!!!! Definitely a PRICELESS CLASSIC !!!! You guys are amazing!!! You're doing so much for so many! We appreciate all of you guys: Kev, Lissa, Joshy, Serena, DoBoy, etc.. Yall the BEST!
That intro is the best it mesh well for the podcast and video with the song is supreme because it sums up what the podcast is about I love it
Evan B I agree ☺️
I sooo love the intro song! It's a jam
Thank you so much!!
That look Melissa had when Kevin said "I don't pull out." 😱 So hilarious
Girl. I am so appreciative that you shared this with us, your undeserving audience. I just recently became a mother almost 3 months ago and I wholeheartedly appreciate your vulnerability. I am sitting here wiping away tears myself empathizing with you. I am praying for y'all as a family but also YOU Melissa because so much of what your family is and what they feel is possible rests squarely on your shoulders as a wife/mother. Put your trust in the Lord. He will lead and guide you and continue to give you wisdom in raising your children. I don't know you from Adam, but I love you guys just because you are another black family like mine.
Emotional abandonment... wow - that's some deep stuff, especially for a quality time lover!! Praying for you guys that God will show you how to navigate wisely!! You're doing a great job, and God will give you even more wisdom!!
Emotional abandonment is real. I experienced that in a previous relationship and didn't realize how much it related to my love language and thus translated to a lack of love being expressed in the way I needed.
@@UniquelyMeAlmaLee It really is a real and very challenging thing. I think that is the case for any love language - when you don't receive the things you need (even if the person is literally doing their hardest to provide what they THINK you need), it is unbeneficial for both parties. On the one side, the person who is not receiving what they need becomes resentful, and the person giving what they think is needed becomes spiteful potentially because what they are giving is not well received. I think that's where honest communication comes in (whether its a romantic, parental, or other relationship)... truly getting to the root of what you need and seeking to provide that specific love as needed.
Kev & Liss, this was a great podcast subject! Thank you both for being so open in sharing so much of yourselves with us. I pray that God would continue to bless you in all that you do and that He continues to give you wisdom & discernment beyond your years when it comes to meeting/ministering to the needs of your family/children.
Melissa looks so good!!!! The grind looks good on you guys
Wow!!! This podcast was sobering! It's a great reminder to neeeeever compare your life to someone else or envy someone's journey. You guys put in work and make sacrifices to live your dream. But like Kev said, it's worth it! You guys will see the fruit of your hard work! Greater opportunities will come and those things will fund the dream! Love y'all!
Can you do a podcast or a little sliver about being an entrepreneur and preparing for retirement since you guys have a financial background as well
Kev is just like MY HUSBAND... "dang, girl - LET. ME. TALK!!!" hahahahaha hilarious!!!!
Antoinyce Mathis 😂😂😂
Wow 42:00 this was a tear jerker ... I felt it
GAHHHH Melissa you were making me cry!!!
Yasssss Josh has a mic! Thank you!!!!!!
Exactly!! I like actually being able to hear and understand what he's saying.
I love to hear the ads it's so fun to see how Lissa's going to get them in there. You guys are great, keep it up.
Omg this episode is so good!!!!!!!!! Had to get my tissues when yall were talking about JoJo! 😫
Britney Brown thank you listening!
Beautiful look Melissa!!
Okay come through Lis with this lightning honey!!! 😍😍😍 Melanin popping!! ❤️✊🏾
Thank you so much Melissa and Kevin for candidly sharing your experiences. There were so many key insights taken from the process of waking with Jojo through what he was feeling. This one is my fave Love Hour episode to date.
I wholeheartedly appreciate y'all for this episode. I've contemplated entrepreneurship many times and the ideals of not answering to someone else and having the freedom to operate in my own way seem amazing. But for y'all to break down the financial side and how real it gets was great to hear!
This was immensely eye opening! I didn’t realize how much I glamorize entrepreneurship and you all showed me things I never even thought about. Loved this episode.
Melissa....that lighting though...you look so good!
The look Melissa gave when Kev said he don’t pull out!!! 😂 😂
So glad you guys are talking about emotional abandonment. Im a pk and i had this. Im 38 and i still suffer through it.
ChiQuita White Same here #PKLife
Omg jojo melts my heart yo 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️ I loveeeee the role he plays so young in the family. This whole thing was beautiful and y’all really are amazing parents ! A lot of young black Americans don’t even have the space where their parents are so involved and observant. Just beautiful.
Shout out to you both!!! I watch both of your podcasts weekly, and I thoroughly enjoy how real and fun you guys can be, while still staying grounded in the Lord! I have become a better husband since watching you guys and I pray that your marriage and mine continue to flourish! God bless you guys!!!!!! P.S. Kev if you are ever in the Atlanta area, I would love to double date with you guys! Hmu if you are interested! I would love for me and my wife to sit with you and Melissa and pick your brain on some of your marriage tricks and best practices! Number/email available by request. I do not have social media.
This is one of the most vulnerable episodes because it is not just about Kevin and Liss but their kids. Man the effects on kids is on another level of transparency
Melissa, my 10 year old son is the same way. I feel your emotions too!!! All they want is us...so simple and so amazing at the same time. ❤❤
Kids have a love language and I realized that after finding the book the the 5 love languages of children. I think it would be so cool to do one podcast as a family and have the kids share their view of their parent's life and the changes they've experienced good and bad! Family love hour! LET'S GOOOO! LOL
oooh girl. as a mother, i FELT that Jo story. You both are such great parents that he wants even more of you. Think about that blessing. So nice that you both said next year you can take the touring down a notch. What an example. I got diagnosed with MS, and had to take a 8$/hr pay cut to decrease stress, etc. and i battle with if I'm showing my daughter I am doing my most to my best ability. But my husband says, look you're home with her at night, you can go to her concerts at school, your job is flexible with your dr appts, you have little to no work stress... sometimes the simpler life is much better in the long run. You guys are doing so great and both those boys are BLESSED to have you.
The fact Melissa wanted to stay home this summer and rona hit. But it gave them a break together as a family so it worked out. And she rebranded 🤩I love this family( especially Melissa 🥰)
God knew!!🙌🏾
THANK YOU for being so candid...people have NO idea how difficult being a entrepreneur is, and having to balance relationships with the rise of your business. People think you're just "busy"...but really you're just overwhelmed and are just trying to figure out what you're doing!
MELISSA"S FACE when he said he doesnt pull out..... every husband watching just gave a standing ovation!! LOL I love it.
This!!!!
I'm in tears with you. I had the discussion with my mom last Thanksgiving. After my Dads death she felt buying, shopping, and traveling helped me and my siblings grieve. I just wanted to be home and receive more of her love and attention. Its beautiful you alll recognized this early in his life. Its difficult working thru depression at any age.
I actually try to predict when the ad is coming, its creative how they weave them into the topic.
It's fun really lol
Parents have to decide what's important at the time... if you sacrifice attending the soccer game, you can do more and afford more, BUT the child might later resent you for it. It's tough. My greatest memories are the ones I shared with my parents. We were not rich by any means, but we spent the priceless moments together. Now that they are empty-nesters, they're still young and can do things that they sacrificed for us. Now that I am a mother, I am trying to achieve my own balance - reconciling what I want to do and what my children need. This is such an amazing topic!!! I agree with Kev - be PRESENT when you are there!!! You MUST make it clear that you are focused on them when you're at home!!
I used the African pride sample that I received at your show in Oakland on my sons hair and it worked great....
Listen... I love the ads!!! Y'all done made me HAPPY with Native, Third Love, Ultimate Intimacy!! lolol... I am loving it - keep it coming!!! I love the ads and it gives me access to stuff I probably wouldn't have otherwise found (and your segways are getting better and more natural LOL)
Man y'all glowing in this one!!!
@Kevonstage's smirk at 19.58...reminded me of Darryl in Coming to America when Patrice says she'd take him outta his wet clothes. Lol!!
Hey Melissa, you are so pretty😘😘
Crystal Clark thank you!!
Kevin's response to the ad comment is completely warranted!
Kev losing that weight 👏👏👏. Blessings to you both
HE IS... Plus the facial hair, Kev done hit that almost mid-life with the FIRE!!!
“Let me say something girl”😂😂
I think you are the second Creative couple I've heard, apart from Glen and Yvette from How Married are You, so transparent about what really goes down behind the grind. It is so important that people understand this so they can stop speculating and now appreciate the sacrifices made.
Great episode. Very helpful. I be weird then, watching athlete's prehab & talk about their process actually motivates me more than the actual sport.
This #Lovehour was my favorite episode.
Omg this segment is life... I'm a new entrepreneur but have been in ministry a while and the company I worked for had me to travel. I was the single mom of 3.. 😭😭😭😭😭
Melissa I understand girl, oooh Jesus
Liss you had me in tears! 😭🧡🙏🏽
Me tooo! And an unrelated/related note, why do husbands think that rubbing your back when you're trying NOT to cry helps? It doesn't...it just makes you want bawl. I appreciate them wanting to fix it but sometimes they just gotta let the emotion do what it does. It's ok.
@@NaturallyNita Sooooo true.... Or anybody for that matter. Just let me be bc that's not helping! Lol! We appreciate the effort though! 🧡😂
Man! Y'all broke this down so well. Really appreciate what you shared - it was all so useful and insightful. I could see it was especially hard to talk about Jo but the fact that you responded so fast by going to a therapist is fantastic. Really glad that the session was such a eye-opener for you all. Also on a side note, your ads are great - you pick GREAT products that you actually like, so as a listener I would actually wanna buy them
Also, your segways into the ads are often clever/funny lol.
I have to list ALL THE THINGS I loved about this episode: Kev I cannot deal with you!! 🤣🤣🤣 Liss, where can I get that FAITH shirt?! Love the black on black, I need that in my life 🖤. Love this laid back, braids & hoops look you're giving in this one! Great episode & insight. Praying for your family, that God continues to prosper all that yall do, expand your territory while giving you the rest you need & family time you desire, and bless you all reeeaaal good! #I❤LoveHour
yanyell4 thank you!!
This has shed so much light on my current situation!!! God bless you guys!! I now realize that I am not ready!!!
Checking in from 2021. It’s crazy how in June of 2019 Melissa says she wants the boys to be able to stay home the following summer. If only she knew what was in store the following year 😅
Same...I came to the comments to say the same things 😂
This is SOOOOOOO good! Thank you for your honesty.
My fiance and I went to your Love Hour event here in Kent(Seattle/Tacoma). Looking forward to the Atlanta event next year!
I am literally living vicariously through y’all. I’m going to be like you when I grow up!
I'm not a mother, but my heart was breaking for JoJo.
But I really don't mind the way y'all do ads! & I've patronized many of them 😂
Kev you the truth man! Still waiting on the bald head technique! Love you and your family.
bigdaddystillrocks29 he uses Bevel.
You look so pretty Melissa. 💜
I have been trying to start listening to podcasts via audible for the past year @MrsKevOnStage thanks for inspiring me to do it and I am almost finished 2 books that I need for my career and for leisure. I also joined your book club!
I love you guys. That ad breakdown was very insightful.
You to are great and such a blessing. 🎈
Family First! LOVE IT!
I definitely understand what yall are talking about I drive over the road so I'm no home alot and with young kids it's hard to be gone constantly
I wish yall would start actually putting the links in the description box.
Enmarquez Hamilton I will!
@@MrsKevOnStage thank you so much
GREAT EPISODE FREDRICKS! 🌟
Hahaha... you did NOT highlight Essence lolol... Y'all really downplayed that - but I'm soooo EXCITED!!! Y'all are like all things BLACK EXCELLENCE right now!!! I loooooovvvee it and y'all so much!!! Who knew y'all would be here right now - back when I first started listening to Kev back in 2013 "what's up, everybody... it's Kevonstage, go subscribe to my TH-cam page, and don't you be bitter... follow me on Twitteeeerrr..." Yeah, I'm an OLD SCHOOL fan lolol
Antoinyce Mathis me too friend...used to watch him before Instagram! Lol
Antoinyce Mathis they accidentally brought it up! They’ll probably make a more “official” highlighting announcement. At least I hope they do (:
Wow, Praying for y'all. God is with you.
I love Lab and Liss on the come up and grind together. Thank you all for being so open, honest and vulnerable.
Ya got my full support with the beard gang Kev.
Y’all had me crying at work on my break 😭
First off... you guys look great.
Great episode thanks guys
Love you guys
Another great one!
I love this!!! People always want to say be your own boss. I always reply WHEN OR IF IM READY!!! Stop trying to force people into entrepreneurship it’s not for everyone but for those that have been called to it to God be the glory! We are all running different races! Be and stay true to self whatever self may be ❤️❤️🤗 can’t wait to see yal in DALLAS 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
AWESOMENESS! Congratulations.....more exposure! Great episode.
