I have a 2021 kenworth t680. I my radio 📻 speakers sound with out . When I turn the truck off and turn it back on, the sound comes back on . But I gose out again. Do you think I need another radio 📻
That’s how mine started and I bet sometimes the radio randomly turns on and off. I don’t think you need to replace it as yet but eventually. That on and off thing gonna cause the radio to break.
No I didn’t but if I wanted to I could find an adapter which could do that. It doesn’t bother me not using the steering wheel controls. Never was a fan of it even in my Honda.
Not sure cuz I don’t have one in the sleeper. But naturally it won’t if your steering wheel controls don’t so I’ll assume you have to wire up the steering wheel control to the aftermarket head unit which I didn’t in this video.
I would like to this time out to thank you for clicking and watching this video. Also I would really, really, really, really appreciate it if you subscribe, like, comment or share this video. I hope it helped you and have a blessed day. 👍🎉🎊🍾🥳👏
I can make it simple for you. Any 2 color wire with a stripe is speaker wires. There are 8 in total. Black is normally ground, yellow is constant 12V and red is usually switched 12V. It’s easy to verify with a test light.
@@katokagome4670 Your not stupid. The 2 “U” keys came in the glove compartment in a bag with the owners manual. If it’s not in it maybe someone took it out. Maybe you have to source it at a Walmart or car audio shop. Good luck 👍
Congratulations to all you have seen and liked this comment 🎊🎉❤😊
Thank you for this video I have a 2010 T660 and it’s doing the same thing so I’m going to replace the radio 👍
@@Fred-xb2pr seems they go bad over time. Multiple subscribers have this issue. Aftermarket head unit solved my problem and running good ever since

I own the truck and plan to install two amplifiers and subwoofer so replacing the radio was gonna be needed eventually.
Did the new radio fix the issue, or did problems still arise after awhile?
Yes it’s fix so I can say it was the factory radio was the issue. Been using this unit as we speak no problem.
Thanks boss.I used the wire harness in your description and it worked well.Bless.
I always feel happy when I know I helped someone out. I appreciate you 👍
Thanks for the info. Very helpful!
I try to make it as easy as I would want to watch it. 😅
Wonder if I should use a kenwood n maybe the company shop won’t recognize it doesn’t say kenworth 😅
That’s smart. Do it 😅
Were you able to retain steering wheel controls to the radio?
No I didn’t but if I wanted to I could find an adapter which could do that. It doesn’t bother me not using the steering wheel controls. Never was a fan of it even in my Honda.
I install new head unit then it was nice but radio turn off only original works n it turns off randomly now
That sounds like wiring issues, worst it could be is a faulty head unit.
Now how do ya make it so the smart wheel works???
idata Maestro or a steering wheel controller along that line.
Does the radio control in the sleeper still work for this radio

Show how to run a amp and sub! Good content bro
I have raw files for amp, sub and replacing factory door speakers. Gonna edit and drop ‘em. Appreciate you 👍👍👍👍
I’m curious how the head unit came out? Because minds definitely doesn’t come out that easily. I even removed all the plastic paneling and no luck
It has 2 “U” shaped keyways. Just put both in the 4 little holes on the radio and push in then pull the radio out. Takes 2 seconds

How you take the radio out? Is it a key?
Yes it’s like a “U” looking key. It takes 2 but 1 can work.

Pretty detailed and idiot proof. Great job on the tutorial
