On Dec 6/22, our beautiful 8.5 yr old Papillon was diagnosed with lymphoma and 10 days later, we had to send her over the rainbow bridge. I miss her so much. Papillons are so smart, so trainable. A ‘big dog personality in a small package’. They make great walking companions and lap dogs. Oh, she was best at letting you know when someone was at the door! 😂 On second thought, she was best at greeting us when we came back home; a floofy tail wag and kisses. ❤
Did she snuggle? Did she have separation anxiety? I would love to get one but I’m worried leaving her alone while I go to work for a few hours, they will bark constantly (driving others in my home, mainly my dad) crazy... also do they all need an hour outside each day and do they typically run away?
@@marylandsworld3428 Unfortunately, she had separation anxiety and was a bit reactive. We got her at age 2; she wasn't socialized. She listened well enough; once the leash became detached while out and I freaked and yelled stop and thankfully, she stayed put (phew) because these dogs are FAST. With proper training and socialization, these dogs are absolutely exquisite pets. And yes, they snuggle!
My papillion at the age of 7 from a stroke...I'm thankful I was there for him...but it has left me heartbroken I have to say he came to know my soul and his kindness was beyond any other breed I've ever had
I lost my Papillon at 15, though I had only had her around seven years. She was the sweetest dog ever! Not to mention beautiful! She had some separation anxiety and was terrified of thunderstorms. I miss her terribly but wanted to wait until I retire to get another one. I retired in May and we will be picking up our new pap in less than two weeks! I can hardly wait!
I've had 3 Papillions. I absolutely love the breed! All of my papillons were very healthy and live to be 17, 18, & 20. So they lived long past the time. That you gave. They can be healthy but I started them on my own special Health diet from the time they were puppies. I made 100% of their food and gave them supplements. They were all loving patient funny kind and yes they had energy but old so sweet. If I could find another one in the area I live in, I would get one. However, they seem to be much harder to find these days then when I lived in the Pacific Northwest.
cgreen186 i have been a homecooker and rawfeeder for 40 years of big dogs all lived past their life expectancy as well! 15-17 yo. would you be willing to share more about the “secret to your longevity sauce?” i’m considering bringing a papillon into my life. if you’re willing to oblige, let me know! 😊
Where do you live? We have an almost 6 year old beautiful papillon that we may need to rehome, but I would never allow him to go to anyone other than someone like you who fully understands and appreciates the breed.
I have 4 papillons currently. They are smart! One of mine doesn’t like other people. The other 3 love everyone. All do agility. One does confirmation. Just be careful, being so smart they can also learn things you may not want.
I've actually owned a Papillon these are amazing dogs you could not go wrong with owning one in my opinion they adapt pretty well to their owner but they do love to play in-between being lap dogs lol
@@DogOracle if I was a little younger, I would be able to entertain one. You can see there is never a dull moment with one. Do they ever rest or sleep?
Gwen, I rescued a Maltipoo 15+ years ago. Mini was the best. I minister to homebound and disabled. In Homes and Hospitals. She recently passed. I can't imagine replacing her, but I have been looking, only to find these Papion's. Good luck on your search also.
You forgot to tell people to wear leather gloves when you go to clip their nails cause they will draw blood. I have two both have totally different attitudes but both hate getting their nails trimmed.
I have papillon and cavalier, same age, born in same house. I work 8h/5 days weekly and it's no problem. Before work I take them to walk for about 1h., After work two more walks for 1 h each.

Hi! Could you explain more about how you did that?
Can I get a detailed list of what you fed your babies? Plz

I had one live too 17 half yrs old
Beautiful
Another wonderful video. Being the senior that I am. I would have a hard time keeping up with the dog. Thanks again for the video.

@@robertf679 i adopted a 10 year old papillon. She’s gorgeous! She does love
going for a walk but thankfully she also loves sleeping!
Adopt one that is about 5 if you can.
"leaping from your arms or sofa, papillons might harm or kill themselves"... rofl. "How did she die?" "Jumped off the couch"
I love mine! I got lucky and adopted him a little younger than a year old at the shelter😭❤️
Escapologists - they are smart enough to find any weakness in a fence!
To bad so many people don't know the difference between "play" and "tease". Never, ever hype up your dog (any dog) by teasing!
I have 2
パピヨン、最高!(≧◇≦)
I didn’t learn a single important trait about this dog well except it’s not good around small children
you clearly didn't pay any attention

I think the small children should be better behaved around the papillons
I have one and he loves children! every dog is different I think depending on how you raise/socialize them
They originated from France and Belgium, hope that helps!
My baby name is. Zella and she bad
😂 ty for being honest

Ours is OK
can they be left alone during work hours?
They love to come out with us everyday but I have a golden retriever and a Papillon they are fine when they are home alone

Papillons train you.
