I just started putting together a Phoenix P-51 that I got for Christmas last year. I noticed that my vertical stabilizer has that same gap issue. What do you think would be the best way to remedy that?
Hey not sure if you’ll see this, but I have the same plane and the right landing gear only comes up half way now. When looking at it the rod that connects to the servo bends when I try to bring the gear up, and not sure why it’s doing that. Hope you see this! :)
@@RCVideoReviews I’ve taken the wings off to try to fix it, but I built it a few years ago and I can’t remember how to get access to the retract servos. I think if I can’t figure out how to access the retract servos, I might be able to the rod . Thanks for replying!
I agree. It really is a shame. They get so much else right with their kits only to be let down by underperforming landing gear. I've seen complaints about struts bending which I usually attribute to rough landings. But the gear door issue is real. No way around that one. The retract mechanism can be a little sloppy in the locked position too but I've never encountered a handling issue because of it.

You just have to find the high point and reduce it.

Sounds like you already know what the problem is...?

A little dremelling to get the retracts slightly deeper where you bolt them down and that takes care of the wheelpants issue, simple!!
Seems like everyone on here and other forums complain about the wheel pants on Phoenix planes. They need to fix that issue.
