What I hate the most is that Self Modeling Resin are super hard to get and when you get them, your not even guaranteed to have the substats your need on your relic.. Like We get one per battle pass and sometime 1 during events, but that’s it.
From expierecne from another gacha with a similar system where I got technically like 20+ self modeling resins per month u will trash arround 18-20 if you are looking for specific substats it's a frustrating item in low quantity
Honestly, if I were allowed to change only one (1) thing about HSR's relic system, I would have made self modeling resin change the main stat on a piece of gear. We've all gotten sub stat CRIT%/CRIT DMG, ATK% SPD with Def% on the main. Just let use change it to anything we want that isn't already a substat, or swap a substat with a valid main stat
As someone who plays both genshin and HSR, the lack of off-pieces in HSR is really killing the relic farm. In genshin if I get a good looking piece on the wrong set I can at least potentially use it as a off-piece for a future build if it rolls well, but in HSR I felt nothing but pain and anger when I got a ERR rope with double crit 4-liner but on the fcking break effect bonus instead of the ERR bonus set. They should allow you to use the resin to swap a relic's set bonus, even if it has to be level 0 and you could still get burned on the upgrades.
That, along with the other relic issues, is half the reason why I never started HSR even though I really wanted to. No way in hell they make me go through this insane multiple years long grind twice.
Would be fun if they give a item can randomly replace a start in max level relic, ultimately it can ruined a good relic or turn bad one to God tier. With rarity equal to self modeling resin, but it can fix old relic sub start.
This is the exact reason i';m now focusing on building a DOT damage team, it's much easier to build snce I only need EHR and attack, and perhaps I can use some break effect if i want to Edit: I completely forgot to mention my speed. My Kafka, almost fully built, has 3300+ atk, 40% EHR, 136 Speed. Which I assume is good?
I gotta be honest, this is the first gacha game with an energy system that doesn't refills upon level up. It really caught me by surprise, often that's a simple system that gives a slight rewards to player to keep them playing, it might be cause energy isn't actually needed to play the game, but still as someone who plays Grand Blue Fantasy this was keep the shock.

ironically things like this which make it such a pain resource-wise to build a character actually helps me save on banner pulls because i hate building characters. Right now for the foreseeable future, fu xuan's the only one I want and that has more to do with my account not having any quantum (yes i skipped silverwolf too) star rail is worse than genshin for relics. You have 2 categories to farm (4pc relic and 2pc ornament), that means 6 pieces total, you have no 'flex' slot unlike genshin, and it's also more time consuming. Unlike genshin where you can breeze a domain in 30 seconds, the turn based nature of star rail means each run takes that much longer, especially so for simulated universe. Oh, and there's no free artifacts lying around in the open world to collect every day unlike genshin. So far after 3 months, my jing yuan is the only character that has a perfect lv15 on all their pieces cos I just can't even be motivated to burn resources to max the levels on all my teams's relic pieces.
I was going to pull for Fu Xuan, Jingliu, and Topaz+the new nihility 4 star but I agree with you completely that I really don't want to be farming for that many characters. I'm just gonna go ahead and not pull for Jingliu at this point. I have Kafka, so getting that new 4 star character in patch 1.4 can be worth it and since she's supposed to be on Topaz's banner then I'll go for Topaz too. I guess it's nice that they're both fire so I can farm for them both at the same time.
If there is one thing I cannot agree with is the artefact system being LESS time consuming in genshin, have you tried getting an Em piece from the anemo domain ? Have you tried getting a goblet of the desired element damage type ? And don't forget that genshin makes you farm one artefact at a time, at least in Hsr you get two (and in lucky situations 3) at a time so you can run throu your traiblazer power faster (Yeah, there's condensed resin in genshin but that ish adds a whole new chore to the list which is farming those damn crystalflies)
@@wafaay7182 sure it's hard to get a certain relic. but you can also opt to use a flex slot for that. you don't necessarily have to use an EM piece from the viridescent set. you can get one from the gladiator set, or the thundering fury. In star rail, if you're trying to gun for a 4pc set, then by the gods you have to hope you get all the stats on just that one set. because there's no flexing that. That and also the fact that there's no farming for artifacts in the overworld. which makes relic farming in HSR, really stamina inefficient
@@indiomie Em pieces from viridescent are basically a must on units like venti or Kazuha. And I don't see why you wouldn't be able to use a broken set in Hsr, sure you ain't getting the 4 piece effect, but often if you have good substats on your piece it largely makes up for the absence of a set effect. Also, yes there is no overworld way to get artefact, but we basically get 4 free runs each week in simulated universe (thanks to the immersifiers) which allow for an efficient passive way to farm planar 2 piece sets. Plus, simulated universe in itself gives a big amount of the green relic levelling material.
@@Makiosaa in this game you need it tho, they just didn't balanced all that well the amount of DMG the enemies deal, i'm being real i have a maxed clara 3.5K hp above 1K DEF with Damage Reduction on her kit, and i have bailu on the same team decent build 4K HP 1K DEF, it SHOULD be enough defensive utility to like, not die, i'm using 2/4 slots of my team for a tank and for a healer both in the same team, the healer is also the second best healer in the game and is a 5* rate, but then i get killed, somehow they kill my healer or my tank, that are decently built, if they don't kill my buffer it's because she's as tanky if not more than the healer and the tank, but that's the thing, they don't balance out the DMG good enough, you can literally loose a run just because "oh bad RNG" and got 2 your main DPS 2 shotted even when they're destruction and they have HP and DEF rolls and they're tanky and they have a healer too, it makes no sense imo, it forces you to play more defensive than you ever should it's almost insulting 💀💀
@@NFYT No offense, but your Bailu isn't dying to bad RNG, she is just not built that well. ~4k HP is what your supports should have. A healer should have ~5.5k minimum. Low HP healer also means worse healing, so the rest of your team goes down faster because of this too. More importantly though, 1k DEF isn't huge at all, units start with ~700-800 base, so 1k is only like 20% more than the absolute lowest you can have lol. I don't know about your tank (unless you meant Clara), but my tank (Fire MC) has ~3k DEF and she's doing really well tanking hits whenever I use her. So yeah, your units aren't really tanky. For their roles, they're quite fragile even. Losing to bad RNG absolutely can happen in high MoC levels but I don't think that is the big issue for you rn.

Grinding the same easy fight over and over to get slightly better stats isnt "difficult" and getting rid of that tedium wouldn't make the game easier. Reaching endgame doesn't take ages either. I have a completly F2P account and I reached a point where I can consistently 3-star MOC10 after around ~3 months.
This is completely the reason why I only pull for supports or DOT characters like Kafka and Blackswan, they’re much easier to build than other DPS characters that needs Crit

Who said u need to have the perfect 5 rolls in Crit / SPD / any mainstat that u need. Ur setting the bar too high for yourself. And its not like every characters on every relics is need to be perfect role. Only your main dps needs to be above average on the preferred stats, even with 2 rolls preferred stats u still can beat the MoC. And as the times goes by if u havent statisfied with your damage again. Its just you setting the bar too high to yourself. Grinding is boring and very time consuming but its only a side of coin of grind thing. If u are not grinding, why would you even do in the game? Play the game for story? Then read novels or grab another game like genshin that doesnt even have endgame content. Especially when they decide to make endgame content like the swarm disaster, grinding sometimes rewarding and fun when u get that perfect relic u looking for. Its not like u need 5 perfect rolls to clear the daily/weekly basis of content. Genshin doesnt have endgame but still have exploration aspect and can do action rpg style game. Honkai star rail less exploring and is a turnbased game, u can be very casual to beat the game and doesnt care about grinding and can enjoyer the game, u can do 15+ relic without looking at substat, using mainstats only and still beat the game. yet everyone keeps complaining about relic grind in PvE games, Where u can pay to just ignore the relic grinding if u really hate the grind. And u dont even need to rolls 5 preferred substats. You choose to roll for those, stop being a man baby.

@@DonQ0 its not absurd, i have 4 sets relic with planar orb no single refresh and have 4 dps with 69/180 crit ratio on blade and seele, yanqing with 25% cr and 220% cdmg. and even a 50/90 crit kafka. true its rng based but u can gamble those 1 crit drop relic and level to 3 to see if those gonna roll into double crit or no. it will give you an easier to get that ratio. even for a f2p. i play 2 accounts and i dont have problems getting to those ratio, my friends who plays also dont have any issue with it, were often sharing what relic we have what build we have. and none of them having a hard time to reach the average crit ratio which is 75/125. 75/150 average if ur using crit lightcone. higher than that its a godly relic stats like 4 rolls / 5 rolls. 3 rolls into crit on your relic piece gonna get you to 75 125 using crit body. if u go to hrs forum and ask them reaching 50/100 is hard. u will get bullied. 50/100 is nothing. its super easy to achieve
"They fixed some of them" BRO. THEY WANT YOU TO WAIT 18 MINUTES FOR 1 SPARE ENERGY AND TO ACTUALLY FARM YOU CAN'T PLAY FOR A WEEK. It's a pain to farm. Calyxes are also broken. I farm for 2 hours for one 4 star thing and I only got max 2 of it. In 2 HOURS. My grinding ended with 3 four star tens of 3 star and 2 star things. For 2 hours you can't even farm something to exhance your important freakin traces so you could actually fight on other things to actualy win the prices for more characters. To farm jades you HAVE to farm a lot on characters - otherwise you can't play and when you can't you get bored. I still didn't ended Ghost stories and Blouldertown box because my characters are "not strong enough" even tho every is on lvl 80 lightcone 80 some have maxed all traces because doing the recommended one didn't work, have all best relics and still it's not enough. Remember Leonaros adventure (the guy next to Herta's office)? I played through ALL LEVELS but third. I can't end third level difficulty because it shows me my characters are not enough. No matter how much I farm I am sometimes not able to play the game to grind some stellar jades. I am broke, I am in need and I want to still be free to play but it's sometimes impossible
HSR also does double planer and relic drop even like every patch. It’s an indirect way to give fuel efficiency. The most annoying is the 70% CR requirement of RA. So glad that molding exist for main body CV. I can at least play my units just as they come out with required mainstats while in Genshin EM mainstat for headpiece and chest has like 5% drop rate of the DESIRED set…
When I started playing Epic 7 in its early days, gears farming and rolling was a nightmare. Moonlight characters pretty much impossible for me to obtain. But I still continue playing as I can see some gradual improvement done by the game developer. Recent years they added events and features that gives out decent gears and moonlight characters. Yuh, its only like a few times within a year but its something which I can hope for to at least obtain the ones i really wanted. This certainly keep me continue this game after so many years. As for Star Rail........ its much more straightforward. Burn yr points, farmed the gears. And Pray. No luck. Ok logout. LOL. Really must pray before rolling! The random roll is crazy. Just when I finally obtain one piece with both cri rate and cri damge stats, the roll all ended up in another useless stat. Not once, but many times. I often wonder if its been programmed like this or just my bad luck. LOL. One thing i noticed is a good combination stats always seem to end up on purple gears rather than the yellow gears. Well, the game still new, maybe we will see some improvements in future like Epic 7. I hope.
ive been farming the fire and imaginary cavern since DHIL came out, and i am YET to get a single hood piece for either set. not even a decent 4 star piece 🙃
As someone who plays both Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail, I'll have to say Genshin's artifact system is at least more merciful compared to Star Rail. In many Genshin builds, being meta or not, we can easily do well with a 2-2 artifact sets instead of a full set depending on the character and the players' play style, and the presence of a fifth artifact would not impact the sets we're building which serves more as a free piece. However, in Star Rail, I see that most recommended builds are all full sets and what's even worse are the Planar sets which can only be found in Simulated Universes which most definitely takes up our time. The patches also seem a bit too quick that trying to get good artifacts for all characters we intend to use is almost impossible. Those self-modeling resins are not even helpful one bit. If one puts bad luck in getting good stats into consideration, Star Rail's puts even more despair than Genshin. I also have to say that the concept of a strongbox for Genshin is better than that of Star Rail, as Genshin gives off random pieces of the chosen set but Star Rail requires us to pick a specific part, and I would rather see what pieces I'm offered instead of trying to get a good one of a specific part.
Exactly, I genuinely think this is a downgrade from the artifact system. Star rail devs clearly listen to community feedback. Why cant players stop coping and admit the current relic system needs some improvement. The devs will 100% listen to them.
For me it's the most frustrating thing in genshin/hsr. Especially if you spend money on the game you could be getting like two new characters per patch. But you'll never be able to get good artifacts for them in that period of time. And because there's no any guarantee on artifacts I just don't want to spend on resin/fuel. I actually came to idea how it's would be possible to fix artifact system without completely removing rng, but getting more control over it. In path of exile there are currencies that randomly modify your item. And you need only two to make artifacts system much better. First reroll main stat to random. Second resets artifact level to zero with a chance of destroying it (to not make farm for new pieces conpletely obsolete). And that's it. Bot hoyo would neved do that i guess because it would be too easy in their opinion
I think that the best thing to do is not give up on making changes to how the relic system works as honkai star rail is still a very new game and have been very receptive to the concerns of the players. We as players should be able to demand for better quality of life especially as relics become more important as most ftp players are at Trailblazer Level 40+ at least.
Hsr relic may be worse than genshin in paper, but so far I have had more success building characters in hsr more than in genshin. I guess my luck in genshin is just non existent
I will say, err% being so rare is there because it’s so valuable. In genshin it doesn’t matter if you have 1000% or 200% err, since your ult is on a cooldown so all you want is enough to fill it up, whereas in starrail ults can be activated at any time, so regenerating the ult quicker is much more impactful
No? Er matters alot in genshin aswell, some characers literally depends on their burst so much that they used an er weapon and sands instead, it doesnt matter if you had a 10 second cooldown burst if you cant even cast it in the first place since you neglect your er.
@@lucklei4665 let me rephrase, in genshin err is about getting x energy within x seconds, you're still capped by the time if you regenerate it faster so there's no incentive to build more than you need in most cases: if you get your ult from 1 attack in genshin and you just used it you still have to wait the timer, but if you get your ult from 1 attack / getting hit once in starrail then you'd be able to use it immediately.
One way they could make energy more available to f2p players is by putting them in the embers shop. By doing that they can still get money by making uou get jade. Spend Jade on pulls. Each pull give you embers. Embers gives you energy. Everyone wins.
i play genshin and honkai since the start of those games.. in Genshin Artefact farming fells KINDA rewarding. i have the feeling of getting good pieces after 2 weeks of farming. but in Honkai im farming the same Artefact Domain for like 4 Months and dont feel like it was worth all the Resin. Its a fcking pain in the ass. feels zero rewaring. i HATE it. i might quit this game becaus of it. i think the worst part about the system is that the 2 set bonus buffs are locked behind specifcit stat threshholds. its so annyoing
I know the relic system sucks but people always forget why they are playing the game just grinding everything quickly will burn you out amd you will quit why everyone wants to clear the forgotten hall and swarm disaster so quickly just chill man and remember a perfectly build 4 star character is mucj valuable then having lv 1 5 stars lying around
It's been weeks since I've gotten DHIL and until now, I'm still farming for the head piece and the link rope. I've already gotten like 4 (almost) godly boots and one of them is a speed boots with crit rate and crit damage substats but has flat hp and def. I leveled it up and almost all of the rolls I got went into the flat hp and def. Relic farming is the worst
I can't imagine wasting 20+ fuel just to get one good piece only it roll into trash substat. That's why I'm only use fuel for character accesion and trace, at least you don't have to rely RNG. I do the same on Genshin as well.
This iten that's make a relic whith the stat is the most scam and shittiest thing in this game, just one per month and when you use the rage is and deception is eminent, now i just make speed boots or energy recharge pieces, and hope no crtit and atk come...
Thats why Kafka is a godsend! Just slap atk relics and you're good! As well as mono quantum teams which saves the effort on farming multiple relics for your DPS just to match the enemies weakness
Or you can give up 5-8% damage (if you run that character with Pela, due to how defense works in the game) and only ever farm quantum set. Support set there is actually very good for supports because self-sustain is valuable and will noticeably decrease the pressure on your solo sustain character like Natasha or upcoming Lynx.
I remember when I pulled Blade, I had 30+ fuel saved up precisely for a situation where I pull a new character. I spent about 8 of it on tracers, but I spent the rest of it, I’m talking 26 or more fuel, on relics, and I got literally nothing. Thankfully I ended up getting a good gear on him within the next few days, but I wasted so much fuel on literally nothing and I thought it was rediculous
Honestly even with the relics been worse to farm in HSR I don’t feel that bad about it cause like… I am still able to clear most content with so-so built characters, like only recent have I even fully upgraded my geppard for swarm cause previously he was able to more or less solo support with his alright upgraded stuff. Imo I don’t mind the relics compared to e7 as much cause with e7 it’s like even though I can do wayyyy more to force RNG I need to farm perfect substats for pvp and build a ass ton of characters for pvp while with HSR I just have to invest in about 10~ characters maybe, 8 as two core MoC teams and another 2 as extra. Like my DoT team is already done imo, I’ll probably add a fu xuan in and move my geppard to my Dan team and just work on my Dan, tingyun, and yukong. With e7 it’s like I am constantly building units and constantly working on everyone and then going back and having to rebuild units cause they aren’t performing as well. Like my 150k cp milim who is imo my best built unit is honestly kinda mid and needs tuning.
Honest to God the only reason I find hsr so easy to farm is because of e7… people haven’t had the worst so they think this is. One less piece to worry about farming for as well… I’m not saying it’s perfect, but even in 2023 I’m taking hsr over e7, true torture.

I've been farming the Quantum set since Blade's release and still have no relics with critD/critR substats for my Seele or any decent artifacts for my future Fu Xuan. At least in Genshin, I feel like I get way better luck on getting Artifacts, I at least get like 3-8 artifacts with critD/critR substats a week.
I feel so satisfied using 20 fuels to get 1 good piece and 5 other shit ones. Sure its hard but I guess patience really is key for these types of games. I just play two other gacha games where the end game grind isn't as hard to alleviate the salt hahaha
@@toshihsr I play Aether gazer and snowbreak since the grind there is almost non existent except probablt upgrade mats but those don't have rng. Also you're right about not needing amazing artifacts to clear content due to how broken 4 star supports in star rail are as of now most supports in hsr are easy to build and are very rewarding even with subpar stats unlike in genshin where even supports and sub dps are a hard grind.
8:02 also about this: do you know why hoyo originally purposefully kept the resin gate at 8 min per resin? It's bcs of CN laws for young people that limit amount of game time. Yeah social credit is an arse. The money is just a bonus, and tbh lots of hoyo's income in Genshin and HSR actually come from people gacha and people not wanting to grind on material thus they just bought stuff in the shop. Will increasing resin solve this issue and cost them profit? Theoretically yes, practically no. Because people will just use the extra resin for more artifact farming. So yes, hoyo actually has incentive to increase resin regen rate and give out more resin. They just can't because the laws in CN and the potential implication of "haters gonna hate" from any move that increases our game time. HSR is relatively more fortunate as, despite the income, the fanbase of HSR are alr more stable + actually it's smaller than Genshin, they're just more whale bcs of hype. The "eyes" that ruined the community building in Genshin back in 2020 are not in HSR. Plus well... yeah once again hoyo "2nd wave", the "Genshin wave" fanbase have grown more yeah. Genshin really garnered that much new gacha gamers. People who didn't understand asian-style microtransaction "gacha" before. It was 2020 and nobody knew what to do thanks to lockdown, after all.
ps.: I was actually surprised, too. Really: Genshin was insanity and to this day it is still misunderstood. But they are actually doing it. Once we can stabilize the ship and cut out the cancer in Genshin fanbase, those people piggy-backing shittalking Genshin on every non-Genshin content they make, then we shall have peace.

@@Antithesismanifest they set soft-cap, and actually the good stats are even harder to get when the starting number is alr maximum. hmm sure it has become a normality in Asian base. This kind of system allows you to use artifact immediately in trade of having a very high max level, so it gives the freedom to players on how good your stat want to be, and it gives devs replayability for their simple game mode -> allows you to compete with small game apps like Candy Crush, for example. I mean: no one is forbidding you to use healing boost boots on Seele ;)
On a more serious reply: in general artifact farming is hard in any online games that have the concept of continuity (RPG, big example). In the past you grind for the artifact, with shitty droprates, and then they went one of 2 routes: - They had fixed substat and that's it. You kept grinding until you get lucky. In some case you kept grinding bcs you sell them to people via a trade system. and nah you're free to keep grinding as there was no energy system, but the drop rate was simply utter shit. even more utter shit than FGO gacha. - They had an upgrade system. The artifact could be upgraded.... at the risk of it being able to broke. Yes once it breaks you dead you grind again the item was gone.
You get it. I feel like I'm just getting old and Genshin/HSR is somehow people's first experience with grinding/farming. It's just a time/stamina sink and a way to maintain the illusion of constant progression. What else are you going to spend your stamina in after you reach the endgame?
Even if you’re not farming for crit. I’ve been farming one calyx for a Defense or hp chest with a break sub stat and I haven’t gotten a single defense or hp chest
I have been farming for img dmg% since danhengIL came out but I still haven't gotten a good piece yet. I got one with crit dmg yesterday but it didn't roll into crit once. Pain.
My Dan is deceptively better relic farmed than he appears……😅but he is also e6 99.7 c rate before wastelander bonus so way over capped on crit rate 108.7 c damage which appears very low. I have been putting the c damage for all Allies set on a lot of my units when applicable. So he actually starts at 138.7 in a battle. Then if enemy is imaginary weak we add 24 c damage which is 162.7 c damage. Then you add wastelander c damage and you get 182.7. Pretty good right? Lol it’s not done……… His e4 let’s his c damage bonus continue to the next turn and at the highest lvl it’s about 52 percent more c damage and you can keep this up the whole fight. So 234 c damage in an imaginary weak enemy fight when enemy is broken and you have your stacks. This is all well and good but this is the current time period before anything too crazy comes that buffs our units more. I’m hoping I can get a c damage chest that rolls at least close to 10 c rate so I can start at 80 c rate base and then be at 90 c rate with wastelander so I can add 64 c damage to my build…… getting damn near 300 percent c damage. I don’t recommend e6ing any unit but I got beyond lucky on Dan banner. Even when I lost 50:50 my next 10-20 pulls was Dan. Even got 2 double Dan pulls so I fell into the trap of a luck streak with a love of the unit. That said he is my favorite unit to actually play and no matter if there is some power creep I doubt I’ll have to bench my boy for over a year if ever. His eidolons and his base combined all add up to make an absolute monster and having imaginary penetration built in now makes even imaginary resistant enemies not a problem before any supports like silver wolf 😂. I really think he was balanced around his high sp cost and hoyo thought that was enough of a drawback that he would be too costly to have all his power often. To be fair it will limit his supports to being more sp postive and you will likely have some turns you can’t fully spend on him……but it does not matter after e2. No matter what after his ult he will go again and use 3 sp worth of his enhanced basic attack. Also hoyo will sell a unit that breaks skill points at some point and then maybe some less skill point positive supports with better bonuses can also be on his team. My dream character would have a way to make 2 sp every one of their basics. You would speed that unit up to oblivion and gg any skill point worries lol Best of luck on your pulls and may you be blessed but not fall into the gacha trap……even if you are feeling lucky your wallet does ultimately lose 😂

Well... Farming for Exp, credits, and skill materials is a pretty safe bet. But ascencion materials and relic sets... I'd wait until we have more information. Preferably the 1.4 livestream. If they release new materials and sets on 1.4 there is a decent chance that the resources you've spent pre-farming will go to waste. Specially since the fire set doesn't look so good for Topaz. (I'm assuming the bulk of her damage will come from follow-up attacks, not skill damage.) Although, if you do decide to farm the Wastelander set for IL, you will get some fire pieces along the way. Personally, I just put him on Musketeer.

I mean it's essentially worse than Genshin's, they really said hold my beer to it despite the very sensible and near universal backlash. Worse bc the stat bonuses are lower, so you get even less for your effort. that said, HP n Def are far more valuable in HSR, and also you can just auto the domains. Also i guess the question eventually becomes, what is there to even do but grind relics at a certain point lol.
Imo Self-Modeling Resin should have let you get your desired sub stats not just your desired main stat, seeing how they made that Item very rare to get. ya'll should write that down in the next feed back Honkai star rail gives us in the game.
Something even more convincing is locking mainstat and atleast 1 substat. So that for crit bodies you can get double crits. For all other pieces, you can atleast guarantee 1 crit sub. For DoT users, you can atleast guarantee an attack or spd sub.

@@reveriesend4668 You're missing the point. The point is, we actually have the option to do so in HI3rd, even though it's only 2 stats. HSR and Genshin have way more RNG on those but they don't even give you the option to fix your RNG. They just tell you to cry about it and farm harder. Oh, and there is little repercussion to rerolling stats, because you can choose to keep the reroll or the current stats. You only lose time and resources, and you can literally buy the resources once you have no more use for your coins.

Not to mention, farming relic sucks because in Genshin i can always beat domains under 1 min with just decent gear, around 30 sec with slightly better gear. In HSR, even with 2x speed i need more than 1 min (almost 3 min or maybe more). My gears are far from being called decent and it's just so frustrating every time you farm relics what rewards you at the end is a failure. Spending Stellar Jades is not an option for me, imagine wasting so much money just to get fail every time. I wonder how whales keep their sanity after spending so much money just to get fail every time till they got what they desired. Whales have life too, can't be bothered by these worst RNG system where they playing for hours everyday and spending up to 500$ just to got 1 piece Crit DMG containing DEF/DEF%/HP/EHR.. sigh.
I just hate the stamina, I enjoy the game so much but only playing for an hour and then hitting cap on what I can do sucks. This game also differs from genshin because you cant just run the domains for fun, I used to run domains for hours without spending resin in genshin for the fun of it.
You can run Simulated Universe infinite times at no cost. You can't claim Planars without stamina/the weekly replacement items but SU itself has no cost to run.

Randomized gear drop are basically all identical, neither better or worse and cannot be "made better." Fundamentally, over a reasonable period of time(let's say 3 week of gear farming) and accounting for all the game mechanic provided(re-rolling, strongbox, modeling resin), you will get an average collection of gears that falls to the highly similar stats distribution. Making farming "easier" only serves to raise the "expectation" and consequently game is balanced to the new stat distribution. In fact, making farming "easier" only powercreeps your existing gear as they go from "good" to "average." In short, no matter how difficult or easy the farming is, you will always take similarly long time to farm a set of gear that meet your newly adjusted expectation
I rolled for Danny boyy luck struck so hard I have 77 crit rate and 170% crit damage at an f2p with 2970 attack rounded off 3k attack with 4k hp i am happy 😂
After all these years of experience with hoyo games I've found a perfect solution - just ignore min-maxing and go for wahtever you can get at hand. Get those main stats right then you are good to go! Never waste energy on farming for perfect substats. Once you adopt this mindset the game is much more enjoyable. Also the game is easy anyways you certainly don't need the optimal stats.
But at least epic7 give you the energy and leavs to farm but how the f I should farm with no energy with full energy at lvl 46 as begginer I can farm about 6 runs with rng to get the set you want with at least cc subs seems near impossible but I used to that in epic 7 but make energy easier I want to play hsr but I have no energy to farm mats nor gears after I finished refilles and my crystals or what ever it called as ftp this is hard .

There is. It's called RNG. Like 10 possible main stats, 10 possible substats, random substats added/upgraded 4 or 5 separate times... Its not a bug it's a feature.
@malcador don't forget half those stats are either useless or literally useless (flat stats). So it's completely weighted against you. In order to get a full set of what you actually need for one character, is insane amount of luck and resin.
Day 1 in HSR is nothing. I played genshin since day 1 and my artifacts still suck. Players who've played less than 3 months have obtained pieces that I can only dream of. When rng affects a 3 year old veteran player and a 3 month old newbie this way, there's something seriously wrong with the system.
FTP since October, but I hit a bottleneck with relic farming and general resource acquisition after getting 5x5 star characters. Too much cost generally past light cone/level/traces 7/10! The new end game content shits on your F2P build and seems to suggest investing in older, shitter meta characters like Herta and Himeko...
It feels like Hoyo has the relic grind like a pvp game and not a pve game. Epic 7 and other pvp based gacha games made sense that equipment was the true end game.
Genshin is more generous at giving good artifacts than honkai is at giving good relics, idk if thats just me but its one of the reasons why i ended up quitting honkai
I wish there was a free slot like Genshin. I have so many good pieces on shit sets which could have made great off-pieces. In Genshin, half of my units wouldn't have full good sets if there wasn't an extra slot.
After playing this on 2 accounts...My 1st I played to character level 70 and then the game just isnt fun anymore. So I rerolled fixing mistakes i made with currency and leveling materials. The result is the same. The game gets grindy and boring at character level 60. The story essentially ends. All you have left is dailies and events. NOT TO MENTION at level 60 leveling materials needed is extortionate. You get very little while grinding levels, while leveling items requires at least 4 times more. SO screw this game. I will play to 60 and quite the game while waiting PENACONY. Im not going to dump extortionate time and money into this game. If Penacony is the same, then again I will quite when the story ends. 20 LEVELS no story? Whats the purpose?
Atleast in epic7 you can actually farm gear, energy is readily available. In hsr i can do 10 fucking runs per day or something, like how about i am actually allowed to farm without paying 500 fucking dollar.
Imo it doesn’t suck. It’s just that people go for perfect items rather than just slapping items on people. Focus on levels and traces. Leave relics for last! You can beat MoC 10 with some pretty crappy relics.
Literally every single gacha game ever has farming like this so i have no idea why people would complain about bad rng in gacha games because you literally play one. Other games like genshin make you sit for hours grinding while auto battle exists in honkai star rail and even energy was raised from 180 to 240+ in honkai so aint no way your saying grinding is worse in this game than in most gachas.
I see sm1 hasnt played genshin xd. But also the layer of rng though annoying is nothing tok major as it at least gives u a reason to play the game moreover than you would when getting everything you want firet try.
Please don't try to defend this system. You may have been lucky with your artifacts/relics but I personally farmed genshin for 3 years and still have only 2 40 CV pieces. Luck issue? Sure. But as a day 1 player there's no incentive for veteran players. I can farm for next 5 years and still not get anything. That's not the kind of system I can defend, ever. The artifact system is no different than a gacha banner with no guarantee. Need I remind you genshin's broken weapon banner before it was fixed?

What I hate the most is that Self Modeling Resin are super hard to get and when you get them, your not even guaranteed to have the substats your need on your relic.. Like We get one per battle pass and sometime 1 during events, but that’s it.

Honestly, if I were allowed to change only one (1) thing about HSR's relic system, I would have made self modeling resin change the main stat on a piece of gear. We've all gotten sub stat CRIT%/CRIT DMG, ATK% SPD with Def% on the main. Just let use change it to anything we want that isn't already a substat, or swap a substat with a valid main stat

As someone who plays both genshin and HSR, the lack of off-pieces in HSR is really killing the relic farm. In genshin if I get a good looking piece on the wrong set I can at least potentially use it as a off-piece for a future build if it rolls well, but in HSR I felt nothing but pain and anger when I got a ERR rope with double crit 4-liner but on the fcking break effect bonus instead of the ERR bonus set. They should allow you to use the resin to swap a relic's set bonus, even if it has to be level 0 and you could still get burned on the upgrades.

I gotta be honest, this is the first gacha game with an energy system that doesn't refills upon level up. It really caught me by surprise, often that's a simple system that gives a slight rewards to player to keep them playing, it might be cause energy isn't actually needed to play the game, but still as someone who plays Grand Blue Fantasy this was keep the shock.

Right now for the foreseeable future, fu xuan's the only one I want and that has more to do with my account not having any quantum (yes i skipped silverwolf too)
star rail is worse than genshin for relics. You have 2 categories to farm (4pc relic and 2pc ornament), that means 6 pieces total, you have no 'flex' slot unlike genshin, and it's also more time consuming. Unlike genshin where you can breeze a domain in 30 seconds, the turn based nature of star rail means each run takes that much longer, especially so for simulated universe. Oh, and there's no free artifacts lying around in the open world to collect every day unlike genshin. So far after 3 months, my jing yuan is the only character that has a perfect lv15 on all their pieces cos I just can't even be motivated to burn resources to max the levels on all my teams's relic pieces.
I was going to pull for Fu Xuan, Jingliu, and Topaz+the new nihility 4 star but I agree with you completely that I really don't want to be farming for that many characters. I'm just gonna go ahead and not pull for Jingliu at this point. I have Kafka, so getting that new 4 star character in patch 1.4 can be worth it and since she's supposed to be on Topaz's banner then I'll go for Topaz too. I guess it's nice that they're both fire so I can farm for them both at the same time.
If there is one thing I cannot agree with is the artefact system being LESS time consuming in genshin, have you tried getting an Em piece from the anemo domain ? Have you tried getting a goblet of the desired element damage type ?
And don't forget that genshin makes you farm one artefact at a time, at least in Hsr you get two (and in lucky situations 3) at a time so you can run throu your traiblazer power faster
(Yeah, there's condensed resin in genshin but that ish adds a whole new chore to the list which is farming those damn crystalflies)
@@wafaay7182 sure it's hard to get a certain relic. but you can also opt to use a flex slot for that. you don't necessarily have to use an EM piece from the viridescent set. you can get one from the gladiator set, or the thundering fury. In star rail, if you're trying to gun for a 4pc set, then by the gods you have to hope you get all the stats on just that one set. because there's no flexing that.
That and also the fact that there's no farming for artifacts in the overworld. which makes relic farming in HSR, really stamina inefficient
@@indiomie Em pieces from viridescent are basically a must on units like venti or Kazuha.
And I don't see why you wouldn't be able to use a broken set in Hsr, sure you ain't getting the 4 piece effect, but often if you have good substats on your piece it largely makes up for the absence of a set effect.
Also, yes there is no overworld way to get artefact, but we basically get 4 free runs each week in simulated universe (thanks to the immersifiers) which allow for an efficient passive way to farm planar 2 piece sets.
Plus, simulated universe in itself gives a big amount of the green relic levelling material.
Just wish they would remove the Flat ATK, HP and DEF in the substats. So we wouldnt see Good pieces turning into garbage.
Correction: So we wouldn't see good pieces becoming TOO garbage. There's always the chance for DEF% rolls.
@@Makiosaa in this game you need it tho, they just didn't balanced all that well the amount of DMG the enemies deal, i'm being real i have a maxed clara 3.5K hp above 1K DEF with Damage Reduction on her kit, and i have bailu on the same team decent build 4K HP 1K DEF, it SHOULD be enough defensive utility to like, not die, i'm using 2/4 slots of my team for a tank and for a healer both in the same team, the healer is also the second best healer in the game and is a 5* rate, but then i get killed, somehow they kill my healer or my tank, that are decently built, if they don't kill my buffer it's because she's as tanky if not more than the healer and the tank, but that's the thing, they don't balance out the DMG good enough, you can literally loose a run just because "oh bad RNG" and got 2 your main DPS 2 shotted even when they're destruction and they have HP and DEF rolls and they're tanky and they have a healer too, it makes no sense imo, it forces you to play more defensive than you ever should it's almost insulting 💀💀
That would make the game too easy and endgame would be a joke you can reach that in a few months
@@NFYT No offense, but your Bailu isn't dying to bad RNG, she is just not built that well. ~4k HP is what your supports should have. A healer should have ~5.5k minimum. Low HP healer also means worse healing, so the rest of your team goes down faster because of this too. More importantly though, 1k DEF isn't huge at all, units start with ~700-800 base, so 1k is only like 20% more than the absolute lowest you can have lol. I don't know about your tank (unless you meant Clara), but my tank (Fire MC) has ~3k DEF and she's doing really well tanking hits whenever I use her. So yeah, your units aren't really tanky. For their roles, they're quite fragile even. Losing to bad RNG absolutely can happen in high MoC levels but I don't think that is the big issue for you rn.

Grinding the same easy fight over and over to get slightly better stats isnt "difficult" and getting rid of that tedium wouldn't make the game easier. Reaching endgame doesn't take ages either. I have a completly F2P account and I reached a point where I can consistently 3-star MOC10 after around ~3 months.
This is completely the reason why I only pull for supports or DOT characters like Kafka and Blackswan, they’re much easier to build than other DPS characters that needs Crit

Who said u need to have the perfect 5 rolls in Crit / SPD / any mainstat that u need. Ur setting the bar too high for yourself. And its not like every characters on every relics is need to be perfect role. Only your main dps needs to be above average on the preferred stats, even with 2 rolls preferred stats u still can beat the MoC. And as the times goes by if u havent statisfied with your damage again. Its just you setting the bar too high to yourself. Grinding is boring and very time consuming but its only a side of coin of grind thing.
If u are not grinding, why would you even do in the game? Play the game for story? Then read novels or grab another game like genshin that doesnt even have endgame content. Especially when they decide to make endgame content like the swarm disaster, grinding sometimes rewarding and fun when u get that perfect relic u looking for. Its not like u need 5 perfect rolls to clear the daily/weekly basis of content. Genshin doesnt have endgame but still have exploration aspect and can do action rpg style game. Honkai star rail less exploring and is a turnbased game, u can be very casual to beat the game and doesnt care about grinding and can enjoyer the game, u can do 15+ relic without looking at substat, using mainstats only and still beat the game. yet everyone keeps complaining about relic grind in PvE games, Where u can pay to just ignore the relic grinding if u really hate the grind. And u dont even need to rolls 5 preferred substats. You choose to roll for those, stop being a man baby.

@@DonQ0 its not absurd, i have 4 sets relic with planar orb no single refresh and have 4 dps with 69/180 crit ratio on blade and seele, yanqing with 25% cr and 220% cdmg. and even a 50/90 crit kafka. true its rng based but u can gamble those 1 crit drop relic and level to 3 to see if those gonna roll into double crit or no. it will give you an easier to get that ratio. even for a f2p.
i play 2 accounts and i dont have problems getting to those ratio, my friends who plays also dont have any issue with it, were often sharing what relic we have what build we have. and none of them having a hard time to reach the average crit ratio which is 75/125. 75/150 average if ur using crit lightcone. higher than that its a godly relic stats like 4 rolls / 5 rolls. 3 rolls into crit on your relic piece gonna get you to 75 125 using crit body.
if u go to hrs forum and ask them reaching 50/100 is hard. u will get bullied. 50/100 is nothing. its super easy to achieve

BRO. THEY WANT YOU TO WAIT 18 MINUTES FOR 1 SPARE ENERGY AND TO ACTUALLY FARM YOU CAN'T PLAY FOR A WEEK.
It's a pain to farm. Calyxes are also broken. I farm for 2 hours for one 4 star thing and I only got max 2 of it. In 2 HOURS. My grinding ended with 3 four star tens of 3 star and 2 star things. For 2 hours you can't even farm something to exhance your important freakin traces so you could actually fight on other things to actualy win the prices for more characters. To farm jades you HAVE to farm a lot on characters - otherwise you can't play and when you can't you get bored. I still didn't ended Ghost stories and Blouldertown box because my characters are "not strong enough" even tho every is on lvl 80 lightcone 80 some have maxed all traces because doing the recommended one didn't work, have all best relics and still it's not enough. Remember Leonaros adventure (the guy next to Herta's office)? I played through ALL LEVELS but third. I can't end third level difficulty because it shows me my characters are not enough. No matter how much I farm I am sometimes not able to play the game to grind some stellar jades. I am broke, I am in need and I want to still be free to play but it's sometimes impossible
HSR also does double planer and relic drop even like every patch. It’s an indirect way to give fuel efficiency. The most annoying is the 70% CR requirement of RA. So glad that molding exist for main body CV. I can at least play my units just as they come out with required mainstats while in Genshin EM mainstat for headpiece and chest has like 5% drop rate of the DESIRED set…
When I started playing Epic 7 in its early days, gears farming and rolling was a nightmare. Moonlight characters pretty much impossible for me to obtain. But I still continue playing as I can see some gradual improvement done by the game developer. Recent years they added events and features that gives out decent gears and moonlight characters. Yuh, its only like a few times within a year but its something which I can hope for to at least obtain the ones i really wanted. This certainly keep me continue this game after so many years.
As for Star Rail........ its much more straightforward. Burn yr points, farmed the gears. And Pray. No luck. Ok logout. LOL.
Really must pray before rolling! The random roll is crazy. Just when I finally obtain one piece with both cri rate and cri damge stats, the roll all ended up in another useless stat. Not once, but many times. I often wonder if its been programmed like this or just my bad luck. LOL. One thing i noticed is a good combination stats always seem to end up on purple gears rather than the yellow gears.
Well, the game still new, maybe we will see some improvements in future like Epic 7. I hope.

As someone who plays both Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail, I'll have to say Genshin's artifact system is at least more merciful compared to Star Rail.
In many Genshin builds, being meta or not, we can easily do well with a 2-2 artifact sets instead of a full set depending on the character and the players' play style, and the presence of a fifth artifact would not impact the sets we're building which serves more as a free piece.
However, in Star Rail, I see that most recommended builds are all full sets and what's even worse are the Planar sets which can only be found in Simulated Universes which most definitely takes up our time. The patches also seem a bit too quick that trying to get good artifacts for all characters we intend to use is almost impossible. Those self-modeling resins are not even helpful one bit.
If one puts bad luck in getting good stats into consideration, Star Rail's puts even more despair than Genshin. I also have to say that the concept of a strongbox for Genshin is better than that of Star Rail, as Genshin gives off random pieces of the chosen set but Star Rail requires us to pick a specific part, and I would rather see what pieces I'm offered instead of trying to get a good one of a specific part.
Exactly, I genuinely think this is a downgrade from the artifact system. Star rail devs clearly listen to community feedback. Why cant players stop coping and admit the current relic system needs some improvement. The devs will 100% listen to them.
For me it's the most frustrating thing in genshin/hsr. Especially if you spend money on the game you could be getting like two new characters per patch. But you'll never be able to get good artifacts for them in that period of time. And because there's no any guarantee on artifacts I just don't want to spend on resin/fuel.
I actually came to idea how it's would be possible to fix artifact system without completely removing rng, but getting more control over it.
In path of exile there are currencies that randomly modify your item. And you need only two to make artifacts system much better. First reroll main stat to random. Second resets artifact level to zero with a chance of destroying it (to not make farm for new pieces conpletely obsolete). And that's it. Bot hoyo would neved do that i guess because it would be too easy in their opinion

I think that the best thing to do is not give up on making changes to how the relic system works as honkai star rail is still a very new game and have been very receptive to the concerns of the players. We as players should be able to demand for better quality of life especially as relics become more important as most ftp players are at Trailblazer Level 40+ at least.

Hsr relic may be worse than genshin in paper, but so far I have had more success building characters in hsr more than in genshin. I guess my luck in genshin is just non existent
I will say, err% being so rare is there because it’s so valuable. In genshin it doesn’t matter if you have 1000% or 200% err, since your ult is on a cooldown so all you want is enough to fill it up, whereas in starrail ults can be activated at any time, so regenerating the ult quicker is much more impactful
No? Er matters alot in genshin aswell, some characers literally depends on their burst so much that they used an er weapon and sands instead, it doesnt matter if you had a 10 second cooldown burst if you cant even cast it in the first place since you neglect your er.
@@lucklei4665 let me rephrase, in genshin err is about getting x energy within x seconds, you're still capped by the time if you regenerate it faster so there's no incentive to build more than you need in most cases: if you get your ult from 1 attack in genshin and you just used it you still have to wait the timer, but if you get your ult from 1 attack / getting hit once in starrail then you'd be able to use it immediately.
One way they could make energy more available to f2p players is by putting them in the embers shop. By doing that they can still get money by making uou get jade. Spend Jade on pulls. Each pull give you embers. Embers gives you energy. Everyone wins.
i somehow managed to build a strong Blade in 13 days but my JY stat is just bad when ive spent months farming for him
i play genshin and honkai since the start of those games.. in Genshin Artefact farming fells KINDA rewarding. i have the feeling of getting good pieces after 2 weeks of farming. but in Honkai im farming the same Artefact Domain for like 4 Months and dont feel like it was worth all the Resin. Its a fcking pain in the ass. feels zero rewaring. i HATE it. i might quit this game becaus of it. i think the worst part about the system is that the 2 set bonus buffs are locked behind specifcit stat threshholds. its so annyoing
I know the relic system sucks but people always forget why they are playing the game just grinding everything quickly will burn you out amd you will quit why everyone wants to clear the forgotten hall and swarm disaster so quickly just chill man and remember a perfectly build 4 star character is mucj valuable then having lv 1 5 stars lying around
It's been weeks since I've gotten DHIL and until now, I'm still farming for the head piece and the link rope. I've already gotten like 4 (almost) godly boots and one of them is a speed boots with crit rate and crit damage substats but has flat hp and def. I leveled it up and almost all of the rolls I got went into the flat hp and def.
Relic farming is the worst
I can't imagine wasting 20+ fuel just to get one good piece only it roll into trash substat. That's why I'm only use fuel for character accesion and trace, at least you don't have to rely RNG. I do the same on Genshin as well.

This iten that's make a relic whith the stat is the most scam and shittiest thing in this game, just one per month and when you use the rage is and deception is eminent, now i just make speed boots or energy recharge pieces, and hope no crtit and atk come...
Thats why Kafka is a godsend! Just slap atk relics and you're good! As well as mono quantum teams which saves the effort on farming multiple relics for your DPS just to match the enemies weakness
Or you can give up 5-8% damage (if you run that character with Pela, due to how defense works in the game) and only ever farm quantum set.
Support set there is actually very good for supports because self-sustain is valuable and will noticeably decrease the pressure on your solo sustain character like Natasha or upcoming Lynx.
ngl I used asta on the wuthering set from there, so I agree it is the most stamina efficient domain
I Love HSR but this is the worst part. Literally weeks for one unit have a decent set of relics.
I remember when I pulled Blade, I had 30+ fuel saved up precisely for a situation where I pull a new character. I spent about 8 of it on tracers, but I spent the rest of it, I’m talking 26 or more fuel, on relics, and I got literally nothing.
Thankfully I ended up getting a good gear on him within the next few days, but I wasted so much fuel on literally nothing and I thought it was rediculous

Honestly even with the relics been worse to farm in HSR I don’t feel that bad about it cause like… I am still able to clear most content with so-so built characters, like only recent have I even fully upgraded my geppard for swarm cause previously he was able to more or less solo support with his alright upgraded stuff. Imo I don’t mind the relics compared to e7 as much cause with e7 it’s like even though I can do wayyyy more to force RNG I need to farm perfect substats for pvp and build a ass ton of characters for pvp while with HSR I just have to invest in about 10~ characters maybe, 8 as two core MoC teams and another 2 as extra. Like my DoT team is already done imo, I’ll probably add a fu xuan in and move my geppard to my Dan team and just work on my Dan, tingyun, and yukong. With e7 it’s like I am constantly building units and constantly working on everyone and then going back and having to rebuild units cause they aren’t performing as well. Like my 150k cp milim who is imo my best built unit is honestly kinda mid and needs tuning.
Honest to God the only reason I find hsr so easy to farm is because of e7… people haven’t had the worst so they think this is. One less piece to worry about farming for as well… I’m not saying it’s perfect, but even in 2023 I’m taking hsr over e7, true torture.

I've been farming the Quantum set since Blade's release and still have no relics with critD/critR substats for my Seele or any decent artifacts for my future Fu Xuan. At least in Genshin, I feel like I get way better luck on getting Artifacts, I at least get like 3-8 artifacts with critD/critR substats a week.
I really need ways to obtain relic xp. I had to no choice but use 5* for xp at this point.

I feel so satisfied using 20 fuels to get 1 good piece and 5 other shit ones. Sure its hard but I guess patience really is key for these types of games. I just play two other gacha games where the end game grind isn't as hard to alleviate the salt hahaha

@@toshihsr I play Aether gazer and snowbreak since the grind there is almost non existent except probablt upgrade mats but those don't have rng. Also you're right about not needing amazing artifacts to clear content due to how broken 4 star supports in star rail are as of now most supports in hsr are easy to build and are very rewarding even with subpar stats unlike in genshin where even supports and sub dps are a hard grind.
8:02 also about this: do you know why hoyo originally purposefully kept the resin gate at 8 min per resin? It's bcs of CN laws for young people that limit amount of game time. Yeah social credit is an arse.
The money is just a bonus, and tbh lots of hoyo's income in Genshin and HSR actually come from people gacha and people not wanting to grind on material thus they just bought stuff in the shop.
Will increasing resin solve this issue and cost them profit? Theoretically yes, practically no. Because people will just use the extra resin for more artifact farming.
So yes, hoyo actually has incentive to increase resin regen rate and give out more resin. They just can't because the laws in CN and the potential implication of "haters gonna hate" from any move that increases our game time.
HSR is relatively more fortunate as, despite the income, the fanbase of HSR are alr more stable + actually it's smaller than Genshin, they're just more whale bcs of hype. The "eyes" that ruined the community building in Genshin back in 2020 are not in HSR.
Plus well... yeah once again hoyo "2nd wave", the "Genshin wave" fanbase have grown more yeah. Genshin really garnered that much new gacha gamers. People who didn't understand asian-style microtransaction "gacha" before. It was 2020 and nobody knew what to do thanks to lockdown, after all.
ps.: I was actually surprised, too. Really: Genshin was insanity and to this day it is still misunderstood. But they are actually doing it.

hmm sure it has become a normality in Asian base. This kind of system allows you to use artifact immediately in trade of having a very high max level, so it gives the freedom to players on how good your stat want to be, and it gives devs replayability for their simple game mode -> allows you to compete with small game apps like Candy Crush, for example.
I mean: no one is forbidding you to use healing boost boots on Seele ;)

On a more serious reply: in general artifact farming is hard in any online games that have the concept of continuity (RPG, big example).
In the past you grind for the artifact, with shitty droprates, and then they went one of 2 routes:
- They had fixed substat and that's it. You kept grinding until you get lucky. In some case you kept grinding bcs you sell them to people via a trade system. and nah you're free to keep grinding as there was no energy system, but the drop rate was simply utter shit. even more utter shit than FGO gacha.
- They had an upgrade system. The artifact could be upgraded.... at the risk of it being able to broke. Yes once it breaks you dead you grind again the item was gone.
You get it. I feel like I'm just getting old and Genshin/HSR is somehow people's first experience with grinding/farming. It's just a time/stamina sink and a way to maintain the illusion of constant progression. What else are you going to spend your stamina in after you reach the endgame?

I have been farming for img dmg% since danhengIL came out but I still haven't gotten a good piece yet. I got one with crit dmg yesterday but it didn't roll into crit once. Pain.
My Dan is deceptively better relic farmed than he appears……😅but he is also e6
99.7 c rate before wastelander bonus so way over capped on crit rate
108.7 c damage which appears very low.
I have been putting the c damage for all Allies set on a lot of my units when applicable. So he actually starts at 138.7 in a battle. Then if enemy is imaginary weak we add 24 c damage which is 162.7 c damage. Then you add wastelander c damage and you get 182.7. Pretty good right? Lol it’s not done………
His e4 let’s his c damage bonus continue to the next turn and at the highest lvl it’s about 52 percent more c damage and you can keep this up the whole fight. So 234 c damage in an imaginary weak enemy fight when enemy is broken and you have your stacks.
This is all well and good but this is the current time period before anything too crazy comes that buffs our units more. I’m hoping I can get a c damage chest that rolls at least close to 10 c rate so I can start at 80 c rate base and then be at 90 c rate with wastelander so I can add 64 c damage to my build…… getting damn near 300 percent c damage.
I don’t recommend e6ing any unit but I got beyond lucky on Dan banner. Even when I lost 50:50 my next 10-20 pulls was Dan. Even got 2 double Dan pulls so I fell into the trap of a luck streak with a love of the unit. That said he is my favorite unit to actually play and no matter if there is some power creep I doubt I’ll have to bench my boy for over a year if ever. His eidolons and his base combined all add up to make an absolute monster and having imaginary penetration built in now makes even imaginary resistant enemies not a problem before any supports like silver wolf 😂. I really think he was balanced around his high sp cost and hoyo thought that was enough of a drawback that he would be too costly to have all his power often. To be fair it will limit his supports to being more sp postive and you will likely have some turns you can’t fully spend on him……but it does not matter after e2. No matter what after his ult he will go again and use 3 sp worth of his enhanced basic attack. Also hoyo will sell a unit that breaks skill points at some point and then maybe some less skill point positive supports with better bonuses can also be on his team. My dream character would have a way to make 2 sp every one of their basics. You would speed that unit up to oblivion and gg any skill point worries lol

Well... Farming for Exp, credits, and skill materials is a pretty safe bet.
But ascencion materials and relic sets... I'd wait until we have more information. Preferably the 1.4 livestream. If they release new materials and sets on 1.4 there is a decent chance that the resources you've spent pre-farming will go to waste. Specially since the fire set doesn't look so good for Topaz. (I'm assuming the bulk of her damage will come from follow-up attacks, not skill damage.)
Although, if you do decide to farm the Wastelander set for IL, you will get some fire pieces along the way. Personally, I just put him on Musketeer.

I mean it's essentially worse than Genshin's, they really said hold my beer to it despite the very sensible and near universal backlash. Worse bc the stat bonuses are lower, so you get even less for your effort. that said, HP n Def are far more valuable in HSR, and also you can just auto the domains. Also i guess the question eventually becomes, what is there to even do but grind relics at a certain point lol.

Imo Self-Modeling Resin should have let you get your desired sub stats not just your desired main stat, seeing how they made that Item very rare to get. ya'll should write that down in the next feed back Honkai star rail gives us in the game.
Something even more convincing is locking mainstat and atleast 1 substat. So that for crit bodies you can get double crits. For all other pieces, you can atleast guarantee 1 crit sub. For DoT users, you can atleast guarantee an attack or spd sub.
Or something like locking substats, an those substats that are locked can't level up at least that would be insane :v

Probably bcz of hes an experimented unit hes hard to support and play around his lightning lord some sort of ease to that or more rewards would be great also dont tell me that his ultimate essentially being hertas ultimate but needing 20 more energy doesnt scream some kit issues.

@@reveriesend4668 You're missing the point. The point is, we actually have the option to do so in HI3rd, even though it's only 2 stats. HSR and Genshin have way more RNG on those but they don't even give you the option to fix your RNG. They just tell you to cry about it and farm harder.
Oh, and there is little repercussion to rerolling stats, because you can choose to keep the reroll or the current stats. You only lose time and resources, and you can literally buy the resources once you have no more use for your coins.
i already give up on farming set for now. building up a character needs a lot of resources. im just using musketer and thieves set for the time being.

Not to mention, farming relic sucks because in Genshin i can always beat domains under 1 min with just decent gear, around 30 sec with slightly better gear. In HSR, even with 2x speed i need more than 1 min (almost 3 min or maybe more). My gears are far from being called decent and it's just so frustrating every time you farm relics what rewards you at the end is a failure. Spending Stellar Jades is not an option for me, imagine wasting so much money just to get fail every time. I wonder how whales keep their sanity after spending so much money just to get fail every time till they got what they desired. Whales have life too, can't be bothered by these worst RNG system where they playing for hours everyday and spending up to 500$ just to got 1 piece Crit DMG containing DEF/DEF%/HP/EHR.. sigh.
I just hate the stamina, I enjoy the game so much but only playing for an hour and then hitting cap on what I can do sucks. This game also differs from genshin because you cant just run the domains for fun, I used to run domains for hours without spending resin in genshin for the fun of it.
You can run Simulated Universe infinite times at no cost. You can't claim Planars without stamina/the weekly replacement items but SU itself has no cost to run.

It’s so annoying how many great substats I have gotten but then have been ruined because the Main stat is garbage.
Randomized gear drop are basically all identical, neither better or worse and cannot be "made better." Fundamentally, over a reasonable period of time(let's say 3 week of gear farming) and accounting for all the game mechanic provided(re-rolling, strongbox, modeling resin), you will get an average collection of gears that falls to the highly similar stats distribution. Making farming "easier" only serves to raise the "expectation" and consequently game is balanced to the new stat distribution.
In fact, making farming "easier" only powercreeps your existing gear as they go from "good" to "average."
In short, no matter how difficult or easy the farming is, you will always take similarly long time to farm a set of gear that meet your newly adjusted expectation
I rolled for Danny boyy luck struck so hard I have 77 crit rate and 170% crit damage at an f2p with 2970 attack rounded off 3k attack with 4k hp i am happy 😂
After all these years of experience with hoyo games I've found a perfect solution - just ignore min-maxing and go for wahtever you can get at hand. Get those main stats right then you are good to go! Never waste energy on farming for perfect substats. Once you adopt this mindset the game is much more enjoyable. Also the game is easy anyways you certainly don't need the optimal stats.
But at least epic7 give you the energy and leavs to farm but how the f I should farm with no energy with full energy at lvl 46 as begginer I can farm about 6 runs with rng to get the set you want with at least cc subs seems near impossible but I used to that in epic 7 but make energy easier I want to play hsr but I have no energy to farm mats nor gears after I finished refilles and my crystals or what ever it called as ftp this is hard .
hoyoverse fans discovering that genshin , honkai impacto , honkai star rail and soon zzz are just dogshit games for bad players that have 0 skill but 100 patience and 1 braincell.

There is. It's called RNG. Like 10 possible main stats, 10 possible substats, random substats added/upgraded 4 or 5 separate times... Its not a bug it's a feature.

In order to get a full set of what you actually need for one character, is insane amount of luck and resin.
Day 1 in HSR is nothing. I played genshin since day 1 and my artifacts still suck. Players who've played less than 3 months have obtained pieces that I can only dream of. When rng affects a 3 year old veteran player and a 3 month old newbie this way, there's something seriously wrong with the system.
It reminds me that I spent a month farmign for Jing Yuan and he's still 50/165 :(

FTP since October, but I hit a bottleneck with relic farming and general resource acquisition after getting 5x5 star characters. Too much cost generally past light cone/level/traces 7/10! The new end game content shits on your F2P build and seems to suggest investing in older, shitter meta characters like Herta and Himeko...
It feels like Hoyo has the relic grind like a pvp game and not a pve game.
Epic 7 and other pvp based gacha games made sense that equipment was the true end game.
Genshin is more generous at giving good artifacts than honkai is at giving good relics, idk if thats just me but its one of the reasons why i ended up quitting honkai
I wish there was a free slot like Genshin. I have so many good pieces on shit sets which could have made great off-pieces. In Genshin, half of my units wouldn't have full good sets if there wasn't an extra slot.

After playing this on 2 accounts...My 1st I played to character level 70 and then the game just isnt fun anymore. So I rerolled fixing mistakes i made with currency and leveling materials. The result is the same. The game gets grindy and boring at character level 60. The story essentially ends. All you have left is dailies and events. NOT TO MENTION at level 60 leveling materials needed is extortionate. You get very little while grinding levels, while leveling items requires at least 4 times more. SO screw this game. I will play to 60 and quite the game while waiting PENACONY. Im not going to dump extortionate time and money into this game. Atleast in epic7 you can actually farm gear, energy is readily available. In hsr i can do 10 fucking runs per day or something, like how about i am actually allowed to farm without paying 500 fucking dollar.
farm for your limited 5 stars then give everyone the scraps. limited is your currencey.
Imo it doesn’t suck. It’s just that people go for perfect items rather than just slapping items on people. Focus on levels and traces. Leave relics for last! You can beat MoC 10 with some pretty crappy relics.
Literally every single gacha game ever has farming like this so i have no idea why people would complain about bad rng in gacha games because you literally play one. Other games like genshin make you sit for hours grinding while auto battle exists in honkai star rail and even energy was raised from 180 to 240+ in honkai so aint no way your saying grinding is worse in this game than in most gachas.

I see sm1 hasnt played genshin xd. But also the layer of rng though annoying is nothing tok major as it at least gives u a reason to play the game moreover than you would when getting everything you want firet try.
Please don't try to defend this system. You may have been lucky with your artifacts/relics but I personally farmed genshin for 3 years and still have only 2 40 CV pieces. Luck issue? Sure. But as a day 1 player there's no incentive for veteran players. I can farm for next 5 years and still not get anything. That's not the kind of system I can defend, ever. The artifact system is no different than a gacha banner with no guarantee. Need I remind you genshin's broken weapon banner before it was fixed?
@@fangservicex2964 and thats where honkai doesnt fail u have modeling resin rolls are bad but still and i for example have farmed a great big deal for my artifscts there and yes on average u get a good piece every 3 months in genshin but genshin doesnt even need insane stats to be doable as in honkai so there isnt a great incentive on the system being changed as it doesnt give them anything itll just make more people quit faster also who said im defending the system?
