    For the price can't beat the pro-4x Frontier

    To me, the Frontier is the last and pinnacle of the simple, reliable, easy to maintain/repair, overbuilt/under stressed trucks. i call it a 3.5 Gen Tacoma. it takes everything that was great about last gen trucks(specifically tacoma) and fixes all the flaws that people complained about. (poor seats, low roof line, garbage shifting, rough ride, loud road noise, atrocious infotainment, drum brakes, two piece drive shaft etc) just enough modern tech without the unnecessary layers of complexity other than to be the “latest and greatest “. it’s what i wished the 4th gen tacoma would’ve been. also, you can get great deals on them.

    Im the opposite of brand loyal. In my mind, i strip the badge off, look at what is offered and whatever checks the most boxes gets my money. I combed this market for months and the ranger raptor in shelter green (my wife protested for azure gray, even though her favorite color is green) did it for me. I secured it and it should be built in July. Toyota scared me off with their new tacoma, chevy bison already has major issues, honda just didnt do it for me, nissan was close but the fun factor wasnt there, so i rode with the ranger raptor for my first ever pickup. I feel we are lucky because each one of these trucks will fill the needs of somebody if they make the smart buy FOR THEM. Everyones milage varies.

    I hoping for the 2025 Ranger to come out with the new 2.3L Modular Power Cylinder (MPC) Ecoboost (i.e. has both direct injection and port injection). 315HP and less costly than the 2.7 V6.

    Theres something about the chevy design in the front end that gives me pontiac aztec vibes and i cant get it out of my head. I think the ford looks the best because they combined function with form, then put their money where their mouth is by competing winning and setting records both at Baja and Finke desert races......in a stock/regulation fitted truck.

    The Frontier is the best bang for the buck. I’m thinking g this fall many highly discounted.
    The Chevy with the 35s is the best looking, but I wouldn’t buy it.
    I really would like a Tacoma, but now I’m swaying more towards the 2.7 Ranger.
    And I’m Team Everest!!! If they had it out this fall, that’s what I’d get Leslie, but I’m guessing it won’t be between the new Explorer or 4Runner.
    I usually can’t listen live, but listen while driving or mowing.

    I would rate the Honda Ridgeline more like 8.5. It has the most comfortable ride, the most interior space, the coolest bed, a very reliable engine, a very good 4WD system. The areas that need improvements, as you said, a better infotainment system, a higher ground clearance, and it is a bit too wide for my liking, I wish the pricing was a bit more competitive and I would have bought that one for my wife without even considering the other mid-size trucks.
    I think that the Frontier is an all around a good truck, but I would rate the Frontier more like 7.5. I like the seats and that it has a naturally aspirated engine. It has the best price point, but the interior seems to be the cheapest looking one and this one has probably the weakest or the least capable 4WD system among all of the mid-size trucks. It would be my last choice and the only reason I would buy it if I cannot afford the other mid-size trucks.
    I like the GM twins a lot, but I would rate them as more like 8.0 for the Canyon, and 8.4 for the Colorado. They are IMO the best looking mid-size trucks in and out. The engine is also very good. The 4WD is also very good, and the only reason I am knocking these two trucks is the transmission. I simply think that the transmission in the GM trucks is the weakest among all of the mid-size trucks and that is the only reason I would not buy one.
    I like the new Tacoma the most among all the mid-size trucks, and I will give it 8.6. It is a really cool looking truck; a very capable, and the engine on that thing is amazing. However, the pricing is prohibitively high and since the competition is so good, I do not think that Toyota will be able to continue to demand such a high price. As soon as they realize that and start offering more incentives, the Tacoma will be unbeatable. The other two issues I have with the Tacoma is the lack of rear A/C vents and the lack of space between the 1st and 2nd row.
    The Ranger, especially the Raptor, is probably the must have mid-size truck if you are able to afford it and buy it at or below the MSRP. The lack of rear A/C vents bothers me a lot, and also it bothers me that Ford made the Ranger to look so mellow like an SUV, not like a truck. I wish they have made it look more like the Bronco. I will give it 8.5 for the Ranger mainly because of the exterior look. Otherwise, it would have been the king among the mid-size trucks, such a poor decision.

      The ranger raptor is what other fanboys wish their manufacturer would offer. Switch the badges around in a vacuum and toyota fanboys would say it's the best, nissan fanboys would pound their chest, and chevy fanboys couldn't contain themselves for what that truck offers. I don't have an allegiance to a badge. Whoever gives me the best truck for what I want gets my money. Ford delivers...FOR ME. Your milage varies. Form/function gives it the best performing headlights among any car ever btw.

      I really like the Ranger, and the Raptor trim is above every other mid-size truck. I like the RR more than the ZR2 and the TRD Pro. The only two issues I have with the Raptor are the exterior look and the lack of rear A/C vents.. Not that it is a bad looking truck, but the competitors are better looking. Otherwise, it is the best mid-size truck.
      I am a big Toyota fan, but I do cross shopping. I have had 3 Fords, 2 Chevies, 2 Hondas and 2 Toyotas.
      The most issues I have had with the vehicles made by Ford, but they were the most comfortable vehicles among the ones I had.
      The most reliable ones were the vehicles from Honda and Toyota.

    No Gladiator? We got the minivan Ridgeline in there, but no Jeep.

  • @yourenzyme

    I was really hopeful when I heard the Ridgeline was getting a Trailsport trim, Honda's AWD tech is really capable. Then we actually saw it and Honda seemed to think a set of AT tires was enough. Hopefully they don't drop the trim entirely and when the Ridgeline 3rd gen comes out (needed very badly, coming close to 10 years with current gen) they give it at least a slight lift as well.

    • @bryy2053
      @bryy2053 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      So the tires on the trim ruined it for you? They are very easily replaced, as more people would be turned off by a more aggressive AT tire at initial buy given the target market of this truck than what they gave from the factory. Not sure how you could justifiably ding the platform on factory tires when they are easily and affordable replaced.

    • @yourenzyme
      @yourenzyme 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@bryy2053 no tires they used are fine. I was just expecting more. Honda reps were hyping up the offroad focused Trailsport trim on the Ridgeline before it was officially announced. It is my fault for thinking it may have a slight lift, maybe new front end for better approach, but its just an appearance package that comes with different seats and AT tires.

    Where I live the top of the line Frontier Pro-4X is going for 48k to 52k which is insane for what they offer. Very disappointed that Nissan has not put its best tech and updated features in its top of the line midsized Frontier Pro-4X, they are still using hydraulic steering with an abismal turning radious, Come on Nissan, no lane keep assist, tight cramped and loud cabin , it is like they are throwing scraps at this outdated design on purpose, is Nissan going to discontinue and abandon the Frontier like they just did the Titan? Nissan is not even trying to keep up with the rest of the ever changing midsize market, the best thing about this Frontier is the bullet proof naturally aspirated V6 and the 9 speed transmission. if you drift too far behind you will eventually get left behind. The Honda Ridgeline is a much better option for a midsize truck, you get Honda quality, reliability and dependability, bullet proof 3.5 litre V6 engine and 9 speed transmission, the best all wheel drive system available today, plenty if room and storage, the most comfortable seats and updated tech and features.
