    That's correct. It's a "momentary" switch. Traditionally the trainer works like this: when the switch is down, the instructor is controlling the plane. When the instructor pulls on the switch, the student is controlling. So, if there's a panic situation, the instructor won't accidentally leave the student in control of the plane if the instructor needs to jump in and take over the controls.

    Easier way still:
    1- source: HALF; wt: 100; switch: ID0
    2- source: HALF; wt: 60; switch: ID1
    3- source: HALF; wt: 20; switch: ID2
    4- source: FULL; wt: 100; switch: AIL; Multpx: Multiply
    That way you set values at 20%, 60% and 100% on the 'ID' switch, then multiply that by either 100% or -100% with the AIL switch
    this will give you a nice clean value table of: -100,-60,-20,20,60,100
    Hope it helps

    Mark that's so helpful, many thanks. I have a TGY 9XR radio, Naza Lite and EzUHF JR Module / Rx. So I followed your instructions to set up 6 channels on Naza and Ive used GPS Atti (ID0) Atti (ID1) Manual (ID2) with Aileron switch down. Then with Aileron switch up I have Failsafe (ID0) and Failsafe (ID1). For some reason I couldn't configure failsafe for ID3 but Im well happy. Thanks again Mark your a funkin hero.

    Thanks for your help! Finally figured it out!Just to share my values:
    +110 HALF AIL
    -5 HALF ID0
    -33 HALF !ID1
    -66 HALF !ID2
    This way it uses better logic. Works perfect with 6 modes on the CC3D board:)

    When I set my 9XR Pro up this way and hooked to Mission planner; this set up was inverted and did nothing with ID2. So, I did the invert in Limits and when I decreased the positive 100 to 90, then the ID2 switch worked for the up position on the AIL switch, but not the down position. So now, I can find 5 of the 6 positions in flight modes on Mission Planner.

    Ouch! Try this mix which will give you three distinct values for ID[012]. The 3 fields to edit are Source (all FULL), Weight (100,0,-100), and Multiplex (all set to replace).
    CH06 R +100%FULL Switch(ID0)
    R +0%FULL Switch(ID1)
    R -100%FULL Switch(ID2)

    If you have the USB port on the radio (Smartiepants for one) you can do all this from your computer.. Download and install eePe, "read" memory from radio and save a copy on your computer, make the necessary changes via the GUI, save a second copy and then "write memory" back to radio..
    To delete a mix, go to the "mixes" tab, left click to highlight mix, right click and hit delete.. gone..

    Hello. I just received this radio today. I'm pretty new to this hobby and I found that the TRN switch, in the up-right-back has only one position. So If I move to second position like other switches it wont hold, even if its value changes on screen. Is this correct? May be I got a faulty unit.

    OK now I am really confused. I only need 3 positions from my 3 pos sw. I am setuping up a NAZA-M ok. I Set CH6 ID0 for (manual) mode ID1 for (Atti) Mode but I cannot get the 3rd position (ID2?) to work for (GPS) mode. ID0, ID1 & ID2 are the three positions of the 3 pos switch right? Position 1 and 2 work great but I cant adjust 3 at all. I am missing something arent I ?

    Hi! I have a question. When setting this up in mission planner for arduPLANE I am only able to set up 5 flight modes. The 6th will not highlight to change. Any ideas? Also when callibraating my radio in mission planner Channel 5 gets 6 different PWM readings as I move the two switches on the 9xr BUT, when I Go in to setup flight modes on mission planner the 9xr switches have no affect on the flight mode. I hope this makes sence. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

    Question: Can you make another switch override the channel to -100 or 100?

  • @BullydogAustin
    @BullydogAustin 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Ok. I figured out the second part of my question but, I am still only able to change 5 of the 6 flight modes. The sixth is no changeable. Is this common?

    I Hello Mark, I write from Brazil and my English is not very good so I may have missed some explanation. This setting, and values can be used for any type of quadricoptero ? Thank you.

    • @marhar2
      @marhar2  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Juliano Gomes No, it depends on the quadcopter flight controller. But if any controller uses a single channel with 6 values, this will work.

    If ail switc is 0% and 96%, then if you add 17% 45% and 90% on ail0% then it will be 0,17,90%. But uf you do add 17,45,90% on -96% then it will be 79,51,6%. What I wanna say is that its not centered. Its 79,51,6 vs 0,17,90. Am I correct?

    Is there any easy way of using the same switches for the turnigy 9x with original firmware? I can´t seem to get it to work. I have found a solution to use the gear switch but would like to use the ''ail'' switch instead of the 2 position gear switch. Thanks in advance, seem you know what you are doing. :)

    • @marhar2
      @marhar2  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Albin Jidorf Yes, it can... It's not easy! I made some notes about how to do that here: eastbay-rc.blogspot.com/2011/05/ardupilot-mega-turnigy-9x-mixing.html .Good Luck!!

      I opened the casing for the transmitter and noticed that only two wires were different between the two switches. I changed the position using a soldering iron and so far it has worked flawlessly. I do prefer this setup because the two switches can easily be controlled using only one hand.
