    It is very convenient!
I do not have the problems you describe -- I only use silicone tongs and spatulas etc and wash it with a soft sponge and dry instantly.
For me the crisper plate is even too tightly in -- it requires me to apply force to pull it out. The timer stops every time I take the basket out.
I have also bought silicone cake tins (8'') as due to the wide range of temperature options and it being round in shape, it is easy to bake cakes in it. Also cookies! So real oven is no longer needed and it saves a lots of electricity.
I like how you can just take, for example, a 500g package of sweet potato frozen fries, open the package, add a few drops of sesame or pecan oil (for example) for flavour, a bit of smoked paprika and salt (or any flavourings really), toss the contents around inside the package after adding each ingredient, then toss it all to the crisper plate, set the temp to max crisp (240 C) and timer to just 10 minutesband let it run while preparing a dip. Naturally, have to shake them a few times, but in a such short time, you'll get perfect fries -- very crispy from the outside, yet soft inside (and they remain like this and do not go soft or soggy!).
Another really convenient thing is if I am in a hurry in the morning, I just take 2 or 3 eggs, put them on the crisper plate, set the temperature to 130C and timer to 7 or 8 or 9 minutes (depending on the size of the eggs + and these are room temperature eggs as we do not keep them in the refrigerator) and I am free to do other things whether making coffee or taking a quick shower. When the AF sounds, I get the eggs right away and put them into a bowl of really cold water or just let them be under running water for a tiny bit, then peel them, and I have effortlessly made soft boiled eggs I like -- it has taken me just a few moves and really no effort at all.
Or I just throw an unbaked frozen ham and cheese pastry (or two) or unbaked frozen cinnamon buns to the crisper plate and set it to air fry at 180 or 190 C and in just 7-8 minutes later (making coffee and getting ready) have perfect freshly baked pastry.
So, very convenient when you have overslept and yet want to have a quick bite to eat.
In case of having a bit more time, can make fried eggs in flat silicone ramekins or make a frittata or omelette in the basket.
As I also have a multicooker I use a lot (mine has 17 functions and is pretty amazing for most things), I can combine the two to make a meal or start making a meal in one and finish in another -- e.g. one pot oven chicken (the multicooker max temp is 180 C, so it does not brown from the top. You can use it for frying and roasting but I have learnt that AFnis often more effective and you are free not to add any oil or just a few drops for flavour). For example, sweet and sour chicken is really easy and fast to make when you crisp coated chicken bites in the AF while sauteeing vegetables (onion, garlic, bell pepper, ginger) and preparing the sauce in the multicooker.
Most happy with my ninja AF160. I love the wide temperature range (much wider than in many other air fryers) and also the small number of functions. It makes it very easy to operate it and it does exactly what you expect it to do.
Like you had,bI also have discovered that the 3 min preheating is not needed and although there is a recipe book that came with it and a chart of what temperature and how long is needed for max crisp or air fry or roast or bake, I have discovered that it usually takes a few minutes less than the chart indicates (even without preheating).

You scratched the crisper by washing it with the wrong side of the spunge. You must only use the yellow, less abrasive part. Also noise ? Its not at all.

I have a ninja 15 in one foodi. I absolutely love it. I can cook almost everything in it. I really like that it saves electricity, most items that I used to bake in the oven, now I use the Ninja foodi. 😊

Have had a two-compartment Ninja air fryer for almost a year and just never using metal instruments in it kept the coating in perfect shape. Get that metal spoon away from it, use silicon instruments !

Switched to the Foodi 7 in 1 grill and griddle a couple months ago after a few years of solid service from the Max and I'm been considering unretiring this beast. The air fry cooking speed is definitely superior even though my new foodi has a heating element on the bottom. What made me "upgrade" was mostly its form factor being more tall than wide, which is actually largely mitigated by my late discovery of using the broiler rack as a 2nd air fry food layer. I guess the same design that annoyed me at times also contributes to my new found appreciation for it. In hindsight, I probably would have been better off getting a 2nd one of these and stovetop grill and griddle for my use case honestly. I will say that the reviewer's complaint about the crisper plate being loose is EXTREMELY unwarranted in my case as well. The SUPER tight grip seal is actually annoying at times. Maybe you lost the rubber pegs that attach to the sides of it?

My fave (but least common) thing to do with these air fryer beasts is to "warm up" 3 day old takeout pizza 😅 To me it tastes 90+% as good when it first arrives 🙈🤷 Sometimes BETTER if they didn't cook it enough to start with. Soggy crust syndrome is REAL lol

The design of the basket is a consistent flaw of all Ninja Air Fryers. I think the Instapot Vortex series (to slightly lesser extent) the Corsori air fryers have ideal basket drawer cooking surface. The depth of Ninja baskets are also a problem. I would not say this is suitable even for one person. Especially at the price point.

You’ve answered a question I can’t find anywhere else. I have the 4 qt Ninja, that just totally stopped working, (acts like not plugged in), so I’ve been looking to see of there’s a difference in the diameter of the 4 and 5.5 qt basket, and you’ve shown me they’re the same, only the larger is deeper. But if you can’t stack food, what’s the use? I’ll order the smaller cheaper version.

    • @PrudentReviews

Good question. I had the same question, so I reached out to Ninja and they said “the basket is made with ceramic non-stick coating and there is no Teflon in use.” I couldn’t get more specifics about the material but there’s no credible research that I’m aware of suggesting ceramic nonstick coating is toxic.

    • @robbrown4621
      @robbrown4621 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@PrudentReviews Yes, as far as I have been able to ascertain, ceramic coating is safe. I use it in my frying pans too.
I use the Ninja. I got it as a Christmas gift last year. But, I really don't feel very successful with it. I find that it dries out food and I can't easily check on the progress of the food as it cooks.
I have much more success with a good frying pan. I can check on the progress of the food. Also, with a good ceramic pan I don't use cooking oils and longer.
