Time for a cover of a cover.
If you've never heard either the original or the cover do yourself a favour. It's pure rock magic.
The original is obviously Jane by Jefferson Starship
The cover is by Dino Jelusick - Mike Portnoy - Joel Hoekstra
This is just the solo. Joel is an absolute nightmare of a guitarist. Everything he plays is gold. Especially this solo he wrote for the cover.
Just a couple of notes. Volume knob doesnt need to be up full for either rhythms of leads. Find the sweet spot on your guitar where you still have punch and agression but still plenty of clarity. Rhythm guitars were double tracked and panned left and right. If you plan on learning this solo make sure you're using 9 guage strings. I used 10s and now my fingers are dead.
The bridge pickup on this guitar is somewhat similar to a dimarzio super distortion.

Tbh ive never even heard a JEL solo. I only really discovered who Dann Huff was yesterday even though id heard songs he'd recorded on in the 80s
