Gods I love this game! This is the Harry Potter game I really want to see a remake of. Updated graphics, more team options, hell maybe a way to customize the teams. They are supposed to have reserve players. If this isn't my favourite HP game, it's tied with the COS PC version.
With a Football Manager-style mode as well, with the insane difficulty being Ron Weasley as manager/owner of the Chudley Cannons? The players are crap but enthusiastic, your finances are very low and your only sponsor is WWW. 😄
This game was certainly fun, but it suffered from the same problem as every other sports game. Once you've played it for half an hour, you've seen pretty much everything it has to offer.
Could the same not be said for racing games, fighting games, FPS, etc... these genres aren't about exploration and discovery, they're about mastery. Counter Strike doesn't care if you have seen the map 1000 times already, it only cares whether you are improving at the game. That's kinda the whole point is that nothing changes, you as the player need to improve rather than your character getting stronger. You have seen everything tetris has to offer within the first 15 seconds of gameplay, but I wouldn't consider that a problem that it suffers from. Harry Potter quidditch suffered from a lack of depth is all, had there been 1000s of small things to hone and improve built into the game, it would have a competitive scene and a thriving player base still. A good example of another GameCube game from the same time that did that successfully even though you get the jist of the gameplay very quickly is super smash bros melee. It doesn't suffer from being the same game every time you boot it up, that fact is a boon to the gameplay because it has such incredible mechanical depth.
One of the best games for sure. I LOVED playing this, the mechanics, cutscenes and everything else felt so intuitive and fluent. Really fun to play. Should of been included in Hogwarts Legacy just like this but with updated Graphics.

I've played a lot of Quidditch World Cup in my time, and I've been quite critical of it, but this review helped me reign that in. Most of my criticism comes from the repetitive gameplay, but that's largely because you need to win the world cup with EVERY team in order to unlock all of the cards. When I compare this to other sports games that I love (like NBA Street) it's not too different. Get the ball, score some points, opponent gets the ball, steal it from them, and repeat. I suppose there could be better balance in this game. It's far too easy to steal the quaffle, and scoring is very easy too. There's still a lot of room for improvement, I think, but what this game does well it does really well. The animations, are awesome, and the detail that went into all of the different stadiums is pretty incredible too.

The gameplay for this game was very fun. It was fun to unlock all the super team combos, followed by finding more creative ways to “win” on higher difficulties. The controls were fairly simply, but the timing of skills was a key factor. Knowing when to bludge, when to dodge, and when to use single special moves, be it for offense, or defense

It is a great game to play with friends . They really tried their best , they could use quidditch segment from already existing games and simply add chareceters but fortunatly they didn't . Each team is unique with special movies and original charcters . Seems like they really enjoyed developing the game or at least were worried about quality .

I got this to my Xbox and was so addicted to it, so I tell myself that I need to have this game to all platforms to enjoy the different environment of Harry Potter universe and I did collect them all. I love this game so much that I want a updated version with new countries in it.
Loved this game, thinking about getting a copy for Xmas now. Side note: half blood prince on ps3/360 is also underrated. It’s not the best HP game obv, but its a step up from OOTP and should get more credit for what it is: an enjoyable 10-12 hour Harry Potter game.
Definitely want a sequel or remake of this game using modern technology. Had so much fun playing this when I was younger. I would have to say that it is indeed my favourite out of all the Harry Potter games in the PS2 era.
What I appreciate is that the game kind of adds more lore to the Harry Potter world, because not only does it show full games of Quidditch matches, but it also showcases teams of wizards who play the sport around the world, which is great since the Harry Potter movies mostly focus on Hogwarts and around London, but there should be wizards and mages pretty much all around the world.
You do realise that the movies are based on the books right?? In the books, The Quidditch world cup had multiple different international teams competing, with Bulgaria and Ireland having the most coverage on page. There was a whole ass chapter dedicated to the complete match which was also one of the best part about the book. But other countries playing were also mentioned, but the movies cut everything out because the director was shit. Also JK Rowling also wrote a spin off book about Quidditch called "Quidditch Through The Ages" which explains the invention and evolution of the Sport. Also there is a whole list of different domestic league teams from around England, Scotland and Ireland which are also frequently mentioned in the OG books
I'd still say Chamber of Secrets PC is a bit better, in my eyes. I also want to note here that the Queerditch map had this really weird bug on PC where the AI, no matter what you set it to, would get INSANELY hard, at least on my machine. It was basically near impossible to beat, making an already bland map be extremely tedious as well.
Me and my sister used to play this game together when we were young, I would control the keyboard and she would control the mouse. Great memories and an even better game!!
God, I remember back when I was 9 that this game was on my cousin's pc and everytime I'd go over to theirs for dinner, I'd end up spending the entire time playing it instead of hanging out with my cousins.
I 100%ed this game when I was a kid and uh I don't think I ever realized that passing raised the snitch meter. I always used to just score a bunch of goals, the AI was never particularly good even at the hardest difficulty, so every match I played ended at 300+ to 0

I’m just now starting with Quidditch Champions and it’s great, but there are still some things from World Cup that would make it so much more fun.
I haven't seen you utilizing combo mechanics in the recorded gameplay. Combos really add depth to the whole gameplay
I only played this once as a kid at a friends house, all these years I remember it and still want to play again haha
Really that just shows you how thick people are.
The poll was clearly movie tie in games and yet they still went on about QWC lol
It is a great game to play with friends . They really tried their best , they could use quidditch segment from already existing games and simply add chareceters but fortunatly they didn't . Each team is unique with special movies and original charcters . Seems like they really enjoyed developing the game or at least were worried about quality .
This game is so fire! I love how every World Cup team has a cool unique stadium!
It’s the only sports game I have ever liked to play. It’s such a big part of my childhood
welp time to get addicted to this again, thanks a lot.
Would love if this game got a remaster or a follow up
american but both my parents are from ireland, i'm still mad ireland wasn't in the game despite WINNING the world cup in the time period of the novels!
A Harry Potter trilogy focusing on a quidditch World Cup with like some sort of undercover spy twist would’ve been so legit looking at different wizard cultures like schools in the Middle East and france could be so cool
They seriously missed out on making a new online quidditch game, we've had a brazillion nba and fifa games, there's surely a place in the market for a quidditch online game
Now we need all the Lego Harry Potter games!
I remember the opening of the game being pretty badass as a kid.
i found you recently, love your shit dude keep at it
I haven’t played many of these games but I really liked half blood prince
Thank you for reminding me of Chad Ludo Bagman! This video itched a nostalgic scratch
When I used to go to daycare as a kid they had pc’s during free time and one of the games there was this game and I fell in love with it and played it so much that everyone around me starting asking me for help on how to win games
This game is unironically the best sports game of the 2000s.
Maybe even the best sports game ever, seeing since this genre transformed into a yearly new released gambling casino.
Seeing this I’m baffled why hogwarts doesn’t have quidditch. Prob just saving it for a dlc
I remember getting it for Christmas, it was excellent.
This game desperately needs a remake. I remember spending hours upon hours of my childhood playing this and it never stopped being fun.
The mainly reason why this game is not perfect is the is the Golden snitch logic. The rule maded by JK just doesn't make sense
I'll say this.... It was the only HP game I ever owned so it is my favorite by default. But that also means it was the only one I cared enough about to beg for as a gift in the first place. I'm talkin GBA here btw. Truly the alpha gaming console.
My grandma got me this game on the original Xbox. I was probably 4/5. One of my favorite childhood games. They need to remake it!!
I had forgotten this game existed! This was truly an experience haha, thanks for making this video!
I dont know why but the music of this game always stood out to me, it was kinda my opening to some classical pieces
Had it for gamecube, it was legitimately the only sports game i was willing to play.
Loved it.
This was a pretty fun game, loved the special move cutscenes for the Wold Cup matches, always fun watching the Bulgarians just knock the shit out of the opposing team 😂
I got this to my Xbox and was so addicted to it, so I tell myself that I need to have this game to all platforms to enjoy the different environment of Harry Potter universe and I did collect them all. I love this game so much that I want a updated version with new countries in it.
On which console did you enjoy this game the more?
@@SoberJokR Xbox OG
@@BlueshirtTheOriginal better graphics or you just prefer the Xbox overall?
@@SoberJokR I don´t care about graphics and i had Xbox because it was cheaper at the time i bought it inc. the games,
Loved this game, thinking about getting a copy for Xmas now.
I had a whole different idea of what "Queerdich" was gonna be when I read it.
Saaame~ I had to pause to get the cackling out of my system.
I actually had more fun with the gba version than the ps2 version.
Why is that? :)
@@SuperMoviemaster21 I think it's because of the more simplistic gameplay. It had that pick up and play factor.
I rocked the GameCube and gba versions for this reason! Found my GBA cart last night aha
This was my favourite game growing up! I think it was one of the first games I bought on ps2, or something like that.
This is still probably my favorite GBA of all time. No lie. 😊
I always used to just score a bunch of goals, the AI was never particularly good even at the hardest difficulty, so every match I played ended at 300+ to 0
Those are rookie numbers. When I was a kid, me and my brother used to get over 1,000 before the snitch was even caught. 🤣
I forgot how awesome this game looked, really nice designs over all
I like that they had to figure out the visuals of the World Cup before the Goblet of Fire movie came out.
This game deserves a remake. Doesn’t need that many changes, but a graphical upgrade would be incredible.
This was literally my favorite game growing up as a kid. Asking my grandma to play and Hopping on her computer throwing in this game , Freddy fish , pajama Sam or backyard baseball. Rip meme. The memories forever live on. Every mourning was chocolate milk and wonder bread toast with I can’t believe it’s not butter margarine. 😢😢 miss those times.
One of the best Games ever. Good gameplay, music, Ambient, graphic. I loved in my childhood
i remember being quite skeptical when i fisrt bought it, "how can it be fun if its only quidditch" but OH boy did i have a good time, i loved it, wish there was a modern one with online gameplay. wouldnt call it the best harry potter game, but an amazing spin off!
The feel of each team was pretty cool, I liked playing as the Nordic team
I dedicated half of my childhood to this game jeez it looked so much better in my memories :D I wish they'd make smth like that again
For its time it was amazing. It hid the sort of shallow gameplay with its art style, different locations and teams. I'd definitely let kids play it as one of their first PC games if they were HP fans.
