I just want to thank Flandrew for creating such a cozy corner of the internet. It was very nice of you to let Christo know one of his games got the top spot.
This ranking is absolutely perfect. I kinda expected CoS for PS2 to win and was pleasantly surprised to see the PC version come on top, as that is the one I voted for, and with the difference being so narrow I guess my vote counted for the best 😃
I gotta be fair here. I went for the pc version cuz I never played the ps2 version since I only know about differences since these vids. I did play all harry potters on pc though until part 1 midway trough I'm planning on going trough them soon enough.
I've played both and still prefer the PC version. The PS2 version is great but felt short and easy in the last half of the game whereas the PC version still had challenges
It's good, but not perfect IMHO. HP1 PS1 ranked above HP2 PS1 is a joke, and HP1 on PC being on A is an overstatement, since this game was an experiment and pretty rushed, virtually no open world, rushed story etc.... Order of Phoenix should be higher than just B grade, it should be at least on A! The rest of the rankings is okay!
Honestly, Chamber of Secrets and Philosopher's Stone for PS2 are probably one of my least favorite HP games, mainly because of awkward controls, too much stealth, repetetiveness and overally, the PC and even the PS1 versions (which I adore) felt more dynamic and responsive to play. Sure, the PS2 games look great, but that's the only thing I can give the games credit for to be honest
Chamber of secrets was absolutely stunning. I was in 6th grade and played it every day for a year. I remember how beautiful the castle was, the spells, the game wasn’t too hard but you also required you use all the acquired skills and spells as you learned more and more. I’ll never forget flying in quidditch. It was very beautifully design, immersive, a bit spooky, Al while still being true to the movie. The forest levels with the spiders still haunts me to this day. I look back on it as one of my favorite games of all time. EA got it right with CoS for the consoles and PC. PC looks much better, yes, but I’ve always been a console kid.
The prefects in Chamber of Secrets used to scare the shit out of me as a kid. I was overcome with dread anytime I had to go through the reading room. Those phrases like "Hey! You!", "What was that!" and "I must be hearing things.." are forever etched in my mind haha
Over time, what made me feel disenchanted with continuing to play HP games was that after game 3, the games became more like the aesthetics of the movies and not the books, with that atmosphere of a magical and cartoon world independent of the movies. I abandoned the HP games after "Goblet" and I have only the trilogy as my favorites.
So true. Style is extremely important, Harry Potter is supposed to be a magical Wonderland, with magical colors and unique character designs. After said game it got more bland and too realistic colors/lighting plus they became "movie copies" i personally feel. The games should give their own witty interpretation of the books if you ask me. The new game that's coming looks fantastic though, it manages to be realistic but also magical and vibrant from what I've seen.
Goblet was a flop for sure. I remember as a kid thinking "Is it just me, or does this game actually kinda suck compared to the first 3?" Then this year I looked up these games on the internet and felt vindicated learning that everyone else hated Goblet as well.
@@cubedmelons876 definitely wasn't just you, I felt pretty much the same. As much as yet another 3D adventure game reusing the same formula as the first three games would seem quite boring, the Goblet of Fire seemed like something too much different and I have not even played anything past 'the trilogy'.
Yeah, Goblet sucks, but I have very fond memories of exploring the movie Hogwarts in the OoF game. While it's definitely significantly less whimsical than the first trilogy, and if you're playing them for the atmosphere you're definitely not gonna like it, the recreation of Hogwarts in that game felt incredibly faithful to the movies and was _so_ much fun to crawl through. I'd recommend at least trying it
The best handheld Harry Potter game is Chamber of Secrets on Game Boy Color. I just appreciate that the developers even had the idea to turn Harry Potter into a turn-based RPG and they pulled it off excellently. Philosopher’s Stone on GBC was also great but CoS improved all of its flaws, such as multiple party members. The sprite work is lovely and the layout of Hogwarts is imaginative and a joy to explore. I always loved the shortcuts in the castles and all the hidden item cubbyholes. On the other hand, the worst handheld games are the DS ones, they completely loose all of the charm that the GBC games have.
I agree with you, they're great RPGs. I would dare to say Chamber of Secrets (GBC) is better than its sequel Prisoner of Azkaban (GBA). Prisoner of Azkaban may have better graphics but the artistic design feels worse: too blurry, without the charm of pixelart. Hogwarts has a worse design and the puzzles felt cheap for me, almost a waste of time (far from Golden Sun or Mario & Luigi). I couldn't finish it.
Great video! HP2 for the PC deserves the high place on the list. As for the handheld versions... I absolutely loved the HP1/HP2 for the GBC for my own weird nostalgic feelings. But the best handheld is easily HP3 on the GBA! The GBA version refined the concept from the first two on GBC, graphics are beautifull and the way you can choose your own path at the end gave it a great replay value. Easily some of the very few games i played obsessively as a kid. Just magic!
The only potential issue with this ranking is that people only voted for their favorite. So while the top ranked games are basically untouched, the games further down the list may have moved some positions based on the second, third, fourth, etc votes of the 60+% of people who voted for ones further up the list. Furthermore since the top two games were so close, the second or third favorite votes of other voters may have flipped their rankings. Either way this is an interesting list and reflects pretty well what I would have expected.
Nice video to finish this serie of videos. It’s a pretty accurate list in my opinion. I’m so glad that Chamber of Secrets and Prisoner of Azkaban got the recognition they both deserved. Especially, Chamber of Secrets for PS2, as it was my firsts videogame ever and I enjoyed so so much. Good job, as always, Flandrew!
Not sure why but I was so very happy to see that CoS PC is the winner - always felt like I was in a tiny niche of people who love and remember that game. I replay it every year! The Folio Magi theme is still so magical. Thanks for these videos!
It is one of my favorite games ever, nostalgia definitely playing a part. I replayed it not that long ago, and found many secrets I had never found before. Also checked out some stuff in the game that is not actually accessible without using cheats. There are some cool stuff not used, a full extra course (like the classes) in the Gryffindor Common Room for example.
i more remembered the ps2 game since that was my first ps2 game. got soo many memoerys of all the games in the series appart from gof cus that game was bad even when it was new
I'm so happy HP3 for PS2 got 3rd place, it really deserves it. Universe, musics, dubbing, activities and adventures, it is one of my personal top 3 video games, on par with the handheld version ♥
I have very fond memories of playing HP2 on GBA, pulling all those levers and walking through the seemingly floating-in-the-abyss hallways throughout the castle (sort of Diablo 2-esque). Replaying it recently, a lot of it was more tedious than I remembered, but is still a solid game and doesn't cause too much frustration! That's my vote.
I've only seen one of those games being played before and it's the PC Sorcerer's Stone which my brothers played when they were kids and replayed when they were teens. It was really fun and I'm happy to see it being one of the highly voted ones. It was nice that one of the people who worked on the games was informed of the results though.
Chamber of Secrets for GBC was my first ever introduction to turn based combat. The ability to level up spells was amazing, especially when you consider the fact that you are playing as a wizarding student who is at school to improve your skills! Lastly, the soundtrack, though on Gameboy, is so memorable that it still gets stuck in my head 20 years later.
It was the first game I ever played in my life, I was so amazed at leveling up my spells, exploring hogwarts, attending classes. Even today I play it on my phone, it's so incredible fun
I am pretty happy yet surprised my favourite and pick got first place, especially since my friends who grew up with Harry Potter mostly preferred the Prisoner of Azkaban PC game. Yet greatest of all is that I see my love for the first three games, the 'OG trilogy', reflected by the community. I always thought that the games getting duller and less interesting had to do with me growing up, but your videos over the past few months have shown me that these games were just a reflection of the dark road EA was going down on over the years, rather than me growing up. I am looking forward to the handheld rankings, as well as what your future video projects will bring us!
Yeah, as much as I love the Prisoner of Azkaban PC, that game is a downgrade to the Chamber of Secrets PC. My main problem is the length and a bigger castle that feels more hollow, because of some floors being straight up empty. Also, I really don't like, that spells are not being used apart from classrooms (in 90% of cases). In the Chamber of Secrets you had all those Spongify plates or Diffindo spider webs everywhere around Hogwarts and discovering new secrets with new learnt spells felt really satisfying. In the PoA, you can basically get all the secrets right away and it ruins all the charm. Although, the portrait passwords were a neat idea. Shame, it's like they did not have enough time for the production. It's weird, because they had an extra year, but then again, they were also working on a Brother Bear game, which came out in 2003, so that may be the reason
I never read a single Harry Potter book, saw a single Harry Potter movie, or played a single Harry Potter game, but I've been here for this entire series. I think that's the highest compliment I can give the work you do for the writing and presentation of these videos.
GBA Prisoner of Azkaban is the best for handheld HP games in my opinion. The Final Fantasy-esque game play made it quite fun for a handheld game at the time as well as the story (specially compared to the console versions of the time ) I remember beating that game several times when I was a kid and still enjoyed playing through it.
I think the tier list is spot on! I was surprised to see the COS for PC as the winner. I voted for this one myself, but solely due to nostalgia... I played the first 4 titles on PC cause i didn't own a consele. But I remember whatchig some friends playing the COS on PS2 and thinking it was waaay better. And latter on wen i played for myself, I remember the feeling that it holded up to my spectations ans wishing that it was the version I grow up with. But, whenever I pick a Harry Potter game to replay, I pick the COS for PC because is the closeset one to my heart and it also has nice gameplay time (i usualy finishi it in one or two days) cause I know the game from back to front. (side note, I also play in portuguese due to it being my native language and the dub is hilarius. its a great time) Its very nice to see that there is a communit that has a similar opinion. It gives a nice sense of belonging. Thanks for giving us that @Flandrew ❤
I played only the first two HP games both PS2 and PC versions. The main takeaways is the music! It just hits a certain part of me knowing that there is such a thing as adventuring when it comes to the music...and also visiting Hagrid's HUT theme in the games almost made me shed a tear considering the real actor passed away :*(
This was super interesting how the vote broke down! I'm a bit surprised PC HP2 ranked where it did (even though I voted for it too haha). It's really just a perfect improvement over the first PC game :) thank you so much for this series
Dealthy Hallows Part 1 & 2 are massive guilty pleasures for me. I always liked swapping between the different spells, especially in Part 2. The stealth segments were bad sure, but I always had fun with them as a kid 😅
Gof was the worst game by far i still think hallows part 1 and 2 only beat it by one spot cus they where still boring 3rd person shooters. but gof was by far the black sheep of the series.
When it comes to the installments I've played, I couldn't agree more on this tier list! I'm really glad to know that PC CoS is the top HP game for so many people. KnowWonder really knew what they were doing, and it still shows. Flandrew, I haven't been there since your very first HP video, but I did my homework and watched all your videos on that IP. Again, I can't thank you enough for helping me remember why I loved these games as a child, and how scary the goblins in the PC TPS were (I was 5 when the game came out) and I had to ask my dad to flippendo the heck out of them!
I recently found you due to interest in Harry Potter GBC and PC games. I've been curious about which other games I should try. This is the perfect video!
The GBC RPGs were a lot of fun! I remember being excited to see how the "Goblet of fire" game would look like in the GBA after playing the other two and getting disappointed at how it turned out into another bad "movie game" instead of being a fun RPG like the others...
Apart from me ranking the Half-blood Prince above Order of the Phoenix, I can definitely say that we all had very good taste when it came to Harry Potter games and it's sad how they seemingly got worse over the years. Now, where is the masterpiece that is Quidditch World Cup on this list, huh?
This is amazing, the Harry Potter game i played the most were philosopher's stone on PC and chamber of secrets on PC. Both were so fantastic and I specifically remember the bean levels being so much fun!
The thing that is so sad about Goblet of Fire is that it had so much potential to be amazing because of the Triwizard tournament. Those levels would have been amazing if created with the same layout of the first three games.
Its what annoyed me soo much back in the day. when i was gorwing up i actuly played the games before watching the films but for goblit i actuly sore the film first and i remember thinking how cool the tornament is gonna be to play in the game. little did i know the game is basicly just a disscount lego game witch threw out everything good about the original 3
Same for me. That happened because EA chucked Know Wonder out of the development cycle, and they really made the first three games so well. It would have been amazing to see what would Know Wonder have done with goblet of fire if they still could develop the HP games
I never seen what the Goblet of Fire video game looked like until now and I feel disappointed. I loved the Triwizard Tournament in the Goblet of Fire novel and movie (my favorite Harry Potter novel) and I was wondering how well the video game adaptation would adapt the tournament.
I'm glad Order of the Phoenix got some love! I was too young to remember much of the Chamber of Secrets/Prisoner of Azkaban games (let's just forget the Goblet of Fire one ever existed), so the open world fun of Order of the Phoenix is where my best HP Gaming memories are from (along with the great Lego games).
Man, these few months have been a real wild ride. Im so glad I got to experience these videos as they released. Im voting now for the PoA gba game. Said my reasons in the poll website
I didn't play the other handhelds but the PoA game on GBA was really fun! I loved the RPG mechanics and the story so much I played it over and over again as a kid!
The order of the phnixe for psp was actuly a upgrade of the ps2 game. like it had more quests some extra parts that was missing from the ps2 one like a slight fight in the minestry of magic at the end. and it had a faction reputation system. like you had to do theses extra mini quests that gave you reputation in each of the 4 houses witch you had to get to a certen level to get past roadblocks of students that wouldnt let you into certen areas.
Half Blood Prince for DS is my personal favorite handheld. The mini games are so much fun, like dueling, marbles, potion making, and quidditch all kept me very entertained as a kid. I personally loved exploring the castle in a more authentic manner, and the shortcuts were neat to play around with considering how much time Harry had spent at Hogwarts he would be sure to know a few by that point. It was (and still is) a comfort game for me.
Love your version comparison vids, including the ones for other franchises! This is really the only sort of Harry Potter content I'll consume anymore, stuff about the old games. Couldn't be paid to touch Hogwarts Whatever that's coming out. In the immortal words of Roger Clark / Arthur Morgan: _"TERFs ain't got no friends!"_ Thanks, FLANDEW!
And considering that game SEEMS, at least from previews, to revolve around beating down a house-elf / goblin rebellion... I don't think we'll be missing out on much either.
@@goranisacson2502 Wow. If that's true, then I don't wanna hear another soul try to argue _"Don't punish the game devs for something someone else said!"_ They're already paid for their labor, if they're not it's their employer's fault for being withholding, not mine, and if _that's_ what they made, then they _deserve_ to lose out
@@chompythebeast And just in case you hadn't been keeping up with stuff around that game (which I don't blame you if you haven't, I'm just remembering some people might not be as irrationally online as me to keep track of this stuff): the former lead designer for the game, Troy Leavitt, had or still has a youtube channel where he boosts Gamergate and rails against Anita Sarkeesian. Granted, he then resigned from the project in March 2021 when people investigated his youtube channel, and the articles I found back then do not mention if he was lead dev in a coding manner or a story-writing manner, but they do say management tried to prevent them from including trans-options when designing your character (yet it is apparently being included in the final game), so I can't swear on what influence he might have had... but it certainly adds up to deflate what enthusiasm one MIGHT have had for the game even more. Also, went and double-checked the info on the plot on the Harry Potter wiki. The two revealed villains so far is a Goblin who is trying to instigate a rebellion agaknst human wizards, and a human wizard who apparently backs his efforts from the shadows, so house elves are not involved in the rebellion from what I can tell. If they turn out to be involved later on, or if it turns out the Dark wizard is just instigating the rebellion and the Goblin is just his pawn and the whole rebellion isn't REAL and it's just faked by the human... well, that's for the people who'll actually play the game to find out.
HP1 on psx was my first psx game and I enjoyed the hell out of it, but seeing HP 2 for PC win is not a surprise. It was the first PC game I bought, installed, patched, and played on my own, lots of happy memories. Can't wait to see what you do next! XD
the two GBC games are so good and same with POA GBA as that team was super dedicated to like every detail of the book. It is a shame that they were unable to continue on after POA. Now yeah the castle is odd in the GBC games but the Gameplay is great and each one improved on one another.
The Prisoner of Azkaban GBA version is my favorite from the handheld versions. It's great at utilizing the trio during the course of the story, the RPG battle system is so enjoyable, grinding out and maxing out the spells are the reasons why I continously replayed this game, the story is superb, though I miss quidditch from this one.
I played Chamber of Secrets on PC quite a lot. It was fun. The quidditch one could use a remake treatment. It would be a blast to play it with friends again.
You made my husband Gordon’s day including his comment in your video. He literally shouted “THATS ME!” I know Order of the Phoenix is his favourite game because he plays it so much I’ve memorized what all the portraits say 😂
I played a lot of these games as a young lad and came back after watching your series. Prisoner of Azkaban for the console is the best one. You can feel the involvement of the trio as a team like in the books you just didn’t have with the other games where Harry is enduring his challenges alone
Great nostalgic list! These games marked the different stages of my entire childhood.... By the way I'm Cypriot and I never thought that DH Harry would look like a Cypriot to some hahaha
The music for the first two Harry Potter games on PC and Gamecube was awesome. Glad other people appreciated that and the lighting and coziness of the game as well.
I don't ever comment on anything on youtube. Really have to say I have loved watching your videos, especially the ones comparing games. I have had issues sleeping due to life stresses and its been something entertaining and calm to me that helps me relax at night when I try to get ready to sleep. Thank you for all the work!
Happy to see PC Chamber of Secrets on top, it'll always be my favorite. Also enjoyed HP1 on PC and both 1 and 2 on PS1, but PC COS takes the cake for me. Thanks for this video.
I haven't participated in the poll, but I'm glad that it reflects my own ranking so well. HP gave us so many good games (not you, HP7...), I hope that upcoming one will be able to capture that charm
I never had the chance to play any of the games when they came out, but I did recently play the GBC games and the POA GBA game online. POA and COS were both enjoyable. I appreciated the upgrades each game made to the previous ones. Chamber of Secrets for GBC had an amazing soundtrack, and every improvement from the first GBC game was greatly appreciated. The Prisoner of Azkaban GBA game had a bit of a cleaner overworld; I loved switching characters to use different spells and locating special items in chests (Because running into objects and pressing A gets a little tedious). I also liked the upgrade to the castle; the spiraling stairs were a nice touch. And I appreciated not having to guess what monster I was about to run into after I’d identified them. Honestly, although I listed a bunch of positives from POA it’s hard to say which of these is my favorite since they both had their charms. Unfortunately, I stopped playing Philosopher’s Stone GBC as soon as I ran into the potions class glitch. I was just too angry and dispirited to go through everything again after my last save, lol.
That list seems amazing accurate honestly lol, I might have put the prisoner of askzaban above chamber of secrets but that’s more an opinion thing, great video!
I completed every Harry Potter games on PC twice or more. And what I love is that P'stone was a linear game where you can't go back to previous levels to collect the wizards' cards while TOC was an open world game where you can walk around Hogwarts collecting beans to buy wizards' cards from your school mates. I can see why the PC version of TOC is the 1st game because it was such a great improvement from P'stone for PC gamers. (i didn't like POA as I feet dizzy while playing it and the levels are kinda annoying)
HP1 for PC will always be my favorite game. My mom used to play it with me, she helped me in the difficult parts like the Troll one. She passed away. So I've redownloaded the game like 7 times, and play it every now and then when I wanna feel like I'm 6 again and we used to have fun together.
I was *obsessed* with the first two PC games as a kid but somehow never played the PoA PC game. I'm not sure I knew there was a PoA PC game until watching these videos. Just downloaded it from myabandonware and am so excited to try it now! =D It's also been so fascinating seeing the differences between the PC and Console versions of the pre-GoF games. I kinda want to try playing through the first three books on PS2 now, and then do a run of the PC versions
As far as the handheld games go, I can personally say without a doubt that the gameboy color version of the Chamber of Secrets has to be the greatest out of the lot. It's predecessor should also be worthy of mentioning, but Chamber of Secrets took what the Sorcerer's Stone had before and improved on it in every conceivable way. For GBC standards, these games are hidden gems to many as they were loyal to both the films and books respectively in their narrative and gameplay. Having an entertaining and immersive Harry Potter RPG game on a handheld device was way ahead of its standards at the time. I may be a little biased as I mostly played these games for the nostalgia. I however feel that there's more of a reason as to why I seem to go and do another play though of each every now and then as I have for nearly 20 years. The faithful storytelling, colorful spells (that you can upgrade), and a soundtrack that would make you believe the John Williams himself would have been responsible should he have ever had a career in composing the scores in early handheld gaming. In sum, I'm casting my vote for the GBC adaptation for the Chamber of Secrets. I enjoyed the Sorcerer's Stone for GBC thoroughly, but I'd give a slight edge over to its sequel as it improved on everything on a technical scale and also featured a party-based feature so Harry wouldn't always have to fight solo. The Chamber of Secrets was also the final game ever released for GBC, and I feel it should get the recognition it deserves. If possible, I would implore anyone reading this to play the GBC adaptations or at least look at videos on them before casting their vote. Hope this helps in your next video Flandrew.
So glad you made another HP video! - I thought you weren't going to make anymore and that made me kinda salty :( I forgot about the poll I voted on :^)
I liked Quidditch World Cup... I do hope they do a remaster or a new game, maybe one where you could use other teams, not just international ie Holyhead Harpies, Chuddley Cannons etc and play in a league, similar to the Fifa games and be able to play online.
The PC version of azkaban wil forever be my favorite harry potter game. You get to explore alot of the castle, collecting every card, discovering hidden chambers, the fun dungeons its all there!
Oh, I'm less than a third through the video, and my heart is already broken to see Philosopher's/Sorcerer's Stone for PS2 so far down on the list. Not only is it my favorite Harry Potter game, it's one of my favorite games of all time. It's not a "copy" of Chamber of Secrets because it improves the experience by a lot: Prefects can't take away points anymore, there are no longer things constantly trying to kill you at night, etc.
Rest in peace, Robbie Coltrane. He passed just 1.5 weeks after this video was uploaded. Could you, Flandrew, perhaps make a tribute video showcasing all models of his character Hagrid in all of his video game appearances?
GBA POA is definitely my handheld pick. Gosh, I loved that game as a kid. The sound effects and music are seared into my memory with how much I played it.😂
Thank you flandrew and the community, I’ve got a ps2 and only just started to get it out and playing it I’ve been meaning to buy the HP games as I’m a huge fan and now I know which ones to buy and which ones not to bother with. I played as a kid but on the PC and I fondly remember the jelly bean mini games such nostalgia
Great Video. I loved the earlier games on PS2 and PC as a kid. I just wish Microsoft didn’t make it so difficult to play older Harry Potter games on Newer PC’s now :(
I’m glad so many people remember Chamber of Secrets on PC I probably put over a hundred hours into it back in the day. I was obsessed and watch the movie almost everyday as well.
I can't tell if the list is very adequate since I haven't played almost any of the games except for the PS1 versions. But if I were to talk about those two games, I would swap positions. Yes, CoS reuses a lot of things from the first game but it seems to me a more concise game, it has a better structure and the story is better narrated.
These games made my childhood. I will never forget the days I played Chamber of Secrets at 6 years old and the films were new. I miss those days. The nostalgia hits really hard in this season though.
For me, GBA Prisoner of Azkaban holds a very special place in my heart. For someone who never had a console until I got a Wii, I cherished my GBA that was gifted to me by my Nan, and Prisoner of Azkaban was the game she decided to purchase with it. The music is superb, and listening to the console versions of Philosopher’s Stone and Chamber of Secrets it holds the same wonder and charm that Jeremy Soule. The style is beautiful and the exploration is great. Even the sound effects are lovely to listen to. I’ve replayed the game in one save file more times than I know! Harry and the gang are so OP they can defeat the whomping willow in their sleep lmao. Loved the video and the documentation of these games x
I should mention that I did eventually end up getting COS on PC, and couldn’t advance because I was scared of the slime 😂 still a great game that I was happy to see at the top.
The scene at 12minutes blew my mind. I had totally forgotten this game, but deep in my mind I have a faint memory of watching my cousins and sister play it.
i've binge-watched through all your Harry Potter videos. Really enjoyed them! I wonder though, would you also consider comparing the LEGO Harry Potter games and maybe even also do videos of the LEGO Creator Harry Potter games (or maybe even a comparison video between the two)?
As a player of the Xbox and PC versions, the only HP games that I don't remember that fondly are Deathly Hallows Part 1, Sorcerer's Stone, and Qudditch World Cup. I remember generally enjoying the rest to some degree or another. My favorites would have to Chamber of Secrets on Xbox and the two Lego Harry Potter games. Runner-ups are Half-Blood Prince and CoS on PC.
I voted for Chamber of Secrets GBC because I had a great time with my girlfriend (now fiancé) throughout it. It's a fun game in general and she pointed out how so many things were actually book exclusive references. I'd choose any of the GBC RPGs for this reason, but that one was specifically my/our favorite
As the PC-Version of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets was a part of my childhood, I'm very happy to see that so many people enjoyed the game so much too :)
I just want to thank Flandrew for creating such a cozy corner of the internet. It was very nice of you to let Christo know one of his games got the top spot.
I whole-heartedly agree. Great videos, too.
it is quite cozy

This ranking is absolutely perfect. I kinda expected CoS for PS2 to win and was pleasantly surprised to see the PC version come on top, as that is the one I voted for, and with the difference being so narrow I guess my vote counted for the best 😃
I gotta be fair here. I went for the pc version cuz I never played the ps2 version since I only know about differences since these vids. I did play all harry potters on pc though until part 1 midway trough
I'm planning on going trough them soon enough.
I've played both and still prefer the PC version. The PS2 version is great but felt short and easy in the last half of the game whereas the PC version still had challenges
@@RetroSmoo
They're both about on par with each other, but the PC version does have superior game design, so it wins in gameplay. :)
While it’s not technically a tie-in game, I was pretty bummed to see that Quidditch World Cup wasn’t included. I had a blast with that game.
That was the best game.
Lovedddddd that game
Amazing game
It truly was the best HP game and it added Lore that I didn't know existed when I was younger until I read the 4th book
@@housetraitor4806 lol fr my little ass didnt even know that usa was part of the harry potter world until that game

The games where generally scary when I was like 5. I went into the forbidden forest a scared child and left as a grown man
The prefects in Chamber of Secrets used to scare the shit out of me as a kid. I was overcome with dread anytime I had to go through the reading room. Those phrases like "Hey! You!", "What was that!" and "I must be hearing things.." are forever etched in my mind haha

@@AL-nv4gk AHHAHAHAHAAHHAHAA before opening the comments section I was already hearing in my mind "LOCOMOTOR MORTIS!"

I always hated those stealth sections when I was younger
I remember as a kid thinking "Is it just me, or does this game actually kinda suck compared to the first 3?"
Then this year I looked up these games on the internet and felt vindicated learning that everyone else hated Goblet as well.
Not enough people played this game :(. Had they, it would have been #1!
Half blood prince on psp was pretty bad I went to the shop to get my money back lol I think it's similar to the ds version tho
Based, Chamber of Secrets - GBC is the best
prisoners of azakaban on GBA is made by the same developers
Great video! HP2 for the PC deserves the high place on the list. As for the handheld versions... I absolutely loved the HP1/HP2 for the GBC for my own weird nostalgic feelings. But the best handheld is easily HP3 on the GBA! The GBA version refined the concept from the first two on GBC, graphics are beautifull and the way you can choose your own path at the end gave it a great replay value. Easily some of the very few games i played obsessively as a kid. Just magic!
Eh, I prefer HP2 on GBC.
@@fictionalmediabully9830 PC IS BETTER
The only potential issue with this ranking is that people only voted for their favorite. So while the top ranked games are basically untouched, the games further down the list may have moved some positions based on the second, third, fourth, etc votes of the 60+% of people who voted for ones further up the list. Furthermore since the top two games were so close, the second or third favorite votes of other voters may have flipped their rankings. Either way this is an interesting list and reflects pretty well what I would have expected.
Would be cool to see a poll run with the voting system that allows you to vote your 1 2 3 top choices
@@toastedt140 I played all these games and I will never choose PC versions (for the first 3) over the Console counter parts
@@Anonymous-Wolf why not?
Can you link the theme
It is one of my favorite games ever, nostalgia definitely playing a part. I replayed it not that long ago, and found many secrets I had never found before. Also checked out some stuff in the game that is not actually accessible without using cheats. There are some cool stuff not used, a full extra course (like the classes) in the Gryffindor Common Room for example.

I'm so happy HP3 for PS2 got 3rd place, it really deserves it. Universe, musics, dubbing, activities and adventures, it is one of my personal top 3 video games, on par with the handheld version ♥
Ah yes! That's a very underrated game. I've recently replayed it and had a blast
Forgot this even existed! Had a great time with this game despite not playing it as much as the HP2 PC-version.
Probably the best HP games for the content.
Terrible game truly tedious only correct assessment you made.
@@CheyziEditshow do you play it on your phone?
Thank you so much for the shoutout! Huge of your work - it's great seeing another YTer who appreciates the hidden gems of tie-in games!
I recommend you give the movies a go. They are great! Its up to you but you might enjoy them!
This was a great way to end the series! I loved seeing what the community thought about the games, both in the voting and with the comments
(side note, I also play in portuguese due to it being my native language and the dub is hilarius. its a great time)
Its very nice to see that there is a communit that has a similar opinion. It gives a nice sense of belonging.
Thanks for giving us that @Flandrew ❤
I was so happy that this video finally came out
I played only the first two HP games both PS2 and PC versions.
Thank you for your hard work.
And i'm happy so many people answered the poll
Dealthy Hallows Part 1 & 2 are massive guilty pleasures for me. I always liked swapping between the different spells, especially in Part 2. The stealth segments were bad sure, but I always had fun with them as a kid 😅
Gof was the worst game by far i still think hallows part 1 and 2 only beat it by one spot cus they where still boring 3rd person shooters. but gof was by far the black sheep of the series.
It is such a delight watching your videos. Thank you so much and I look forward to watching the game boy rankings!
New Flandrew content lets gooooooooooooo!!!!!!
I recently found you due to interest in Harry Potter GBC and PC games. I've been curious about which other games I should try. This is the perfect video!
Great way to wrap up this series your videos are great and I hope you keep getting more well deserved subscribers!
The GBC RPGs were a lot of fun! I remember being excited to see how the "Goblet of fire" game would look like in the GBA after playing the other two and getting disappointed at how it turned out into another bad "movie game" instead of being a fun RPG like the others...
Prisoner is still fantastic on GBA.
Reminded me of Golden Sun visually speaking. That ain’t a bad thing!
Loved this, all your content brings back my childhood. Thank you!
The first two games for PC were MAGIC MAGIC MAGIC. Replayed them 100000 times. My childhood
Oh such a way back machine, i glad i was a small part of this journey!
HP1 on psx was my first psx game and I enjoyed the hell out of it, but seeing HP 2 for PC win is not a surprise. It was the first PC game I bought, installed, patched, and played on my own, lots of happy memories. Can't wait to see what you do next! XD
Ah yes my favourite youtuber FLANDEW 😂
Started watching your serier like 2 hours ago! what a perfect timing for the finale!
the two GBC games are so good and same with POA GBA as that team was super dedicated to like every detail of the book. It is a shame that they were unable to continue on after POA. Now yeah the castle is odd in the GBC games but the Gameplay is great and each one improved on one another.
These videos are going to set me on a journey to play all of them. Again.
I just... can't resist...
CoS for the gamecube was my entire childhood, such a good game! Played it again recently and it still holds up great
Dude i definitely own 8 harry potter games because of you and 3 more to count! Im so proud of this new collection.
The moment of truth have come. My money is on FPS Harry Potter being on the garbage tier.
This series made me a better man - didn’t want it to end.
Imagine getting featured in a Flandrew Video 🤩
I played Chamber of Secrets on PC quite a lot. It was fun.
The quidditch one could use a remake treatment. It would be a blast to play it with friends again.
You made my husband Gordon’s day including his comment in your video. He literally shouted “THATS ME!” I know Order of the Phoenix is his favourite game because he plays it so much I’ve memorized what all the portraits say 😂
You are a GREAT TH-camr and your content and video ideas are just awesome. Im looking forward to see more Videos and im happy That you are here!!!❤❤
That was satisfying to see! Thanks 😀
I played a lot of these games as a young lad and came back after watching your series. Prisoner of Azkaban for the console is the best one. You can feel the involvement of the trio as a team like in the books you just didn’t have with the other games where Harry is enduring his challenges alone
Agreed it was Amazing on og Xbox i did play pc versio as well but it wasnt as good
Great nostalgic list!

Thank you for watching, hope things get better for you, mate
The video we needed!
HP1 for PC will always be my favorite game. My mom used to play it with me, she helped me in the difficult parts like the Troll one. She passed away. So I've redownloaded the game like 7 times, and play it every now and then when I wanna feel like I'm 6 again and we used to have fun together.
Really agreed with most on this list. Thank you so much for these amazing videos ❤
I was *obsessed* with the first two PC games as a kid but somehow never played the PoA PC game. I'm not sure I knew there was a PoA PC game until watching these videos.
Just downloaded it from myabandonware and am so excited to try it now! =D
It's also been so fascinating seeing the differences between the PC and Console versions of the pre-GoF games.
I kinda want to try playing through the first three books on PS2 now, and then do a run of the PC versions
Did you enjoy it?
The number 1 is deserve a lot, i love this version!
I'm really looking forward to the next Lord of the Rings video, thank you for your content Flandrew
So glad you made another HP video! - I thought you weren't going to make anymore and that made me kinda salty :(
I forgot about the poll I voted on :^)
I liked Quidditch World Cup...
Omg CoS PC in 1st and PoA PC in 4th, my two Favorite Harry Potter games, this is so perfect,
I like you because you're a funny man that talks about Harry Potter
GBA POA is definitely my handheld pick. Gosh, I loved that game as a kid. The sound effects and music are seared into my memory with how much I played it.😂
Thank you flandrew and the community, I’ve got a ps2 and only just started to get it out and playing it I’ve been meaning to buy the HP games as I’m a huge fan and now I know which ones to buy and which ones not to bother with. I played as a kid but on the PC and I fondly remember the jelly bean mini games such nostalgia
Great Video. I loved the earlier games on PS2 and PC as a kid. I just wish Microsoft didn’t make it so difficult to play older Harry Potter games on Newer PC’s now :(
Nice ranking!
Chamber of secrets and prisoner of azkaban on ps2 were my childhood. I really need to replay them at some point 🥰
The castle wasn't reused for the PS1 version, it's a completely different layout.
Absolutely loved the special shoutout to Alexander.
Thank you, yes, been getting a lot of requests for Lego games. Will get to them soon
Is the gbc version of chamber same as the gameboy advance version?
We appreciate the shoutout!
- A 30-year-old Cypriot
I swear when I was younger, Harry Potter games were the only game I cared about and will always get excited if I found a copy at my local gaming store
As the PC-Version of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets was a part of my childhood, I'm very happy to see that so many people enjoyed the game so much too :)
