    I've recently spent over 2 grand on Tektons website because they have complete sets with every size and I tell you what, I have never received such beautifully packaged chrome tools in my life. The organization and presentation of the tools when unboxing was youtube worthy at the least. Bro they used literal wrapping paper with labeled stickers on each set of tools, professionals man, the tools so shiny I had to wear sunglasses. meanwhile you buy a gearwrench set and all your ratcheting wrenches are at the bottom of the box with two missing... First time buying Tekton and will absolutely keep supporting their brand after that delivery holy cow. Everything is engraved and the crow foot sets have USA engraved on them as well. We gotta support these guys. BUY TEKTON TOOLS YOU WONT REGRET IT.

    I have 2 sets of tektons, swivel and non swivel, awesome ratchets. Yea, i think thats genius to instead of adding more teeth to the gear, instead add another paw and have a 60t gear. Which I think would be able to withstand higher torque and be longer lasting than a 80t+ ratchets. Only issue is that theres not a lot of tooth engagement which would make it a bit weaker in handling higher torque.

    All great ratchets. I love when idiots say these can’t be used professionally. I’ve been using Gearwrench for almost 2 decades with maybe a half a dozen failures. Never had any warranty issues and they are super affordable. Tekton has also stepped up in quality and lead the pack in the warranty department. I’ve been full time wrenching for about a year on classic restorations and both brands have held up great. I also own Matco SnapOn and Cornwell and yes they are great too but they don’t do anything better than Tekton and Gearwrench. Thanks TtT. • @jeffmitchell72
    @jeffmitchell72 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    One thing I never see anyone discuss with ratchets: The resistance during the back swing in preparation for turning the bolt again.
    Or maybe I just haven't watched the right video's, or read the right threads?
    Meaning you are trying to remove a bolt...
    You turn the ratchet counter clockwise to loosen...
    Then clockwise, so you are ready to loosen the bolt some more...
    At some point in this process the clockwise turn actually tightens the bolt, because the bolt is so loose and turning so easily.
    This is when you turn the bolt by hand, or just put the socket only on the bolt and turn the socket by hand.
    But what ratchets offer the least resistance in the clockwise turn so you can ratchet longer if you wanted to???

    I don't think, that the origin of the ratchets make a real difference... I mean, steal don't care where its cast, machine don't care who operates them. The quality control and the raw Materials are a lot more important. They can cheap out at labor costs.. i got my first tekton ratchet today (germany, not so easy to get one!) And it feels amazing. I have pretty good experiences with taiwan made tools, if they are from a good brand that invests in good materials and quality control! And the price compared to german or us made tools is unbelievable. For the price of one hazet/Stahlwille/gedore or snap on ratchet i can get like 4-6 tektons. If they only last like 2-3 years, i can buy new ratchets for the next 10 years.

      Ya I completely agree I wasn't saying Taiwan was bad. All of my Taiwan tools have been great. I just like to share the origin of the tools I review so my viewers know. Plus these have an amazing lifetime warranty so you wouldn't have to buy another in 2-3 years. 👍👍👍

    I'm a huge Tekton fan. Top quality and performance at an extremely affordable price. I do have some Gearwrench tools also, but I have to say I was a little disappointed with them. I ordered a 3/8 set from them and a few of the sockets had their chrome flaking off. I understand I probably just got a lemon, but I've never had any problems with Tekton. Here's a recent video a guy did comaring 8 different brands, including Snap On, using a lab calibrated torque-meter. Tekton spanked them! th-cam.com/video/DAGvL66fghg/w-d-xo.html I was very surprised at how poorly SK did. Although I now remember watching a wrench comparison/test not long ago and the SK wrench did poorly too, dangerously shattering.

      @@nevillepretorius8948 Guys, that may be true about him, but it doesn't change the fact that he was using lab quality, lab calibrated measurement tools to test the ratchets, and that his results align with videos of other youtubers that performed similar tests. What, because he's a joke the test equipment is magically bad now and the expensive tools like Snap On are all of a sudden getting beat by cheaper tools?
