The animal cruelty in his country is so overwhelming that most people would just give up in despair, but he keeps plowing on, rescuing one animal from cruelty at a time, saving one life at a time no matter what....and he stays positive throughout everything.

There should be a 2-hour long documentary just on Takis, his life and all the animals he's rescued and rehomed all over the world there should be an annual fundraiser to support him he gets very little donations in Greece and he should be getting so much money for all the work time and effort he puts into saving abused animals he's truly the angel of all animals! 🙏💖

Sadly, so many animals don't know that they want love, because they've never known it, never experienced it. But when you see a rescued animal respond to the first love and kindness they've ever experienced in their lives, and they realize how good it feels to know that someone cares about them, how good it feels to be shown that they are important and that their lives matter...that always brings a tear to my eye and a lump to my throat. ❤

Takis is truly an angel and in 2019 I had the great privilege of meeting him in person. His real name is Theoklitos, which means the one sent by God. He definitely is.

Theo, the guy in this video, his staff, and many volunteers at Takis Shelter are all amazing. Crow! He even goes out and feeds the locals crows! Everything he does is for the animals. God bless him. He has saved countless animal souls.

Takis the dog whistler. Absolutely love Takis and his compassion and dedication to his animals. He used to own a nightclub in Crete and sold it, and brought his land, he was living in a porta cabin which he shared with over 10 dogs for years before he built his house, where he lives with his Dogs. He also has cats goats and sheep. I'm a patreon and give £10 month to him for past 3yrs he brought out his own line of merchandise, and raised over £28,000 but gave ALL the money to local villages and vets and paid for people to get their dogs & cats desexed ( neuted) Go give his TH-cam channel a watch Takis Shelter.
I cried watching this because one of my dog was chained and beaten for years before being rescued... after that he spent years again in the rescue and then I adopted him. He is so damaged, but he always loved everybody!! dogs, cats, humans, children, he just loves the attention and can't get enough!!! He is deaf, arthritic, his trachea was damaged by the chain, his teeth are worn down, one of his ears was broken, he is full off scars, one of his hip joint was broken without seeing a vet at the time and I love him to the moon and back!!! He is around 10 years old now and living his best life and filling my days with love and happiness!!! The person who rescued him is my personal hero ♥

I also agree 100% I may be a child and I have a dog and I love my dog very much that I would give anything for him so seeing this breaks my heart everyone needs to be like him maybe not save every animal that they see since not everyone has that amount of money but even if it's just 1 animal it would 1. Show that humanity isn't cruel like this And 2. U might have saved a Animal that has children (yes I know it isn't in the video but not only dogs and cats get into dangerous situations)

What a great guy, not only saving this dog from a life of misery but educating us all about how to do it with a dog who understandably had no faith in humans, believing we’re all the same. It’s just so upsetting to here Takis reveal there are thousands of dogs in Crete who are chained up the same way. But at least here’s one happy boy thanks to this wonderful man.
