I also checked out Washed Out’s album Paracosm, (which is Chillwave, but also has an ethereal sound). I live in an area where it seems like know one has the slightest idea what I’m talking about when I mention these genres. I hope that changes, because this genre is amazing and life-changing! Thank you so much! 😁

Thank you very much, my friend. Restraint is the hardest musical skill to learn. I'm far from where I want to be when it comes to that skill, but every year I get a little closer. Think it's almost a counter-reaction as everything else around me in my life picks up in speed and becomes unpredictable, my music slows down and becomes more restrained. As you said, we're luckily never too old to learn 😊

I feel I may be able to help. I have a H&K Rotosphere, which has a really bright fast setting, sounds like a carillon of bells, and also the Replex, which is a soft dual head tube driven delay/reverb (weirdly, only one at a time), which allows me to add tube warmth and delay, resulting in a rich fat tone that sparkles and dances. That then goes to an Avalanche Run +/- an Afterneath for maximum washiness.

The first go, before you added in the pattern delay, is totally the sound of Turnover on Peripheral Vision. Nicely done.

No words for how much I love MEW. I'm so lucky to have seen them front row at an impossibly small club here in the American Midwest. The best-sounding concert I've ever seen.

Mew are soooo good! They are pretty huge here in Denmark, but that's probably not the case around the rest of the world. So I'm happy that this video could potentially introduce their sublime music to some new listeners.
