    So basically we need to do easily 10 of the following exercises: push ups, pulls ups and dips. Cuz they are the foundation for advanced movements
    2:17 Nice progressions!!!
    4:01 leaning forwards dips

    these are great- I can do lots of pushups and dips no problem- but pull-ups were a struggle (I'm 54 getting back into calisthenics). This is a great reminder to keep trying and not give up.

So I’m not sure if you should really jump into it after just doing 10 push ups and 10 dips, those don’t stress the delts enough imho.

      @AshtonFitness  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Probably not man - once most people get past the beginner stage they have a clearer idea of what they should/want to progress on to next. Plus, after that stage you can begin progressing on to whatever calisthenics skill you want, so it's difficult to make a general guide for people once they're in the intermediate/advanced stages. But if you want to learn a specific skill, I have a bunch of tutorials on my channel ^_^

    To do 10 pull ups easily you have to be able to do 20 max. And that is not easy at all. It depends upon your starting strength level and body fat percentage, but if you can do only a few pull ups or you cant do pull ups at all, to reach the 20 you must train very hard ad least a year. As for pushups and dips, they are way easier, you can reach that goal in a matter of months.

    broo this makes no sense. A lot of beginners can do 10 pushups, but only one pull up seems impossible.

      The first keyword in this video is "easily". The second is "goal".
      This is the first major GOAL beginners should aim for. Of course, you're not going to be able to do 10 pull ups when you first start (I couldn't do that either). That's why it's called a goal. It's something you aim towards.
      And for those who can't do a single pull up, here's a tutorial on how to get your first pull up: m.th-cam.com/video/MNfmRHyshsc/w-d-xo.html&t
      Don't allow yourself to be defeated so easily man. When I started again after my injury, I couldn't even hang from the bar. Most people can AT LEAST hang from the bar if they can't do 1 pull up. But I couldn't. So Imagine if I thought "1 pull up is impossible for me right now so I won't even try". I wouldn't have made any progress, and I CERTAINLY wouldn't have achieved the skills that I have today (e.g. front lever, back lever, muscle up).
      So to everyone who's reading this, you CAN achieve this goal. I've left links to videos that will help you to achieve it in the description of this video, and if you can't do a single pull up yet, then I have a video for that too (link above).

      Pull ups are definitely the hardest! Don't worry, it's normal. Just work on them. I've got a few videos for increasing pull up reps. Here's my favourite method:

      Yup, that's why you need to be consistent. With consistency, one day your hardest workout will become your warm up.

    if you cant already do 10 reps of pushups easily, i dont think calisthenics is for you

      @AshtonFitness  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not true - I couldn't do 10 pushups when I first started. Now I can front lever, back lever, etc. It all boils down to how consistent you are

      @@AshtonFitness I get your point, you can start anywhere (ideally), but in reality this is very rare and most should experience gym workouts before calisthenics (if they cant do 10+ push ups already). I see a lot of videos making calisthenics look like its easy to progress or start, but in reality you need to grind the basics really hard before moving on to more advanced progressions, ie like 30+pushups, otherwise other skills will be unreachable due to lack of strength in these positions. Thanks for the reply though and for your thoughts.
