- The smartest Alexandrine Parrot in the world? This is only some of what Marty can do, he was not even taught how to wave bye bye he just learnt from watching and observing. Putting the words with the action of waving shows just how smart they are. We would love to post more but we lost Marty 2 years ago. If anyone has seen or heard of an Alexandrine that has the same vocabulary, please let us know. MASSIVE reward $$$$$$$.

I brought my first Alex just recently she is beautiful she is still a baby but man oh man don't they learn fast.

Well you could use clicker training or treat training. But most of the time they just mimic sounds/words when they want to. My Alexandrine love to make the kissing noises and saying, "Hi pretty girl." It just depends on the bird, just because they don't mimic doesn't mean they aren't smart. Birds are highly intelligent.

omg how did you get your bird to learn to talk like that?i just recently got an Alexandrian and i've had him for a couple of months, hes now 8 months old . But all he learned to say so far is his name but you cant really understand him? I would really like some advice. Btw marty is adorable !
they are not the best in talking but very funny, the only one i hate is the most ppls hold them alone.
Well since he's so young he may just have to learn as he grows. My African grey was completely mute until about a year and a half even though we talked to her constantly, but now she never stops talking lol.

He was slowly chewing at his cage, he got out, which normally he would if just come up to our door, but we were not home and didn't notice until the morning ... We had a lot of cockatoos around... So he may of got a fright and flew away . I know someone would have him
