- This backlot began as the Columbia Ranch in 1934, and was later known as the Warner Brothers Ranch. Although there are many famous homes at the Ranch, we'll look at the rich history of the Blondie Street lot that was host to The Corner Church, the Pear House, Bel Air, and the home of the Heck family in "The Middle."

Yes! Finally someone showed this area! My husband and I research a lot of history on this lot. Thank you for showing this.
Thank you for your historical perspective on the back lot. The studios were like working machines, almost everything they needed were right there, no location work and all the technicians were right there.
I drove around the lot today. Craines in place building up the stages and other buildings.
Fantastic video! Thank you for doing this!
Thanks for another look at the Heck house. I studied the backgrounds of the scenes and then find out exactly where they were shot on the ranch by looking at google maps. Thank you again.
Atticus Schaefer did a great behind the scenes tour.
and now everything will be and already is made with dumb, ugly , lifeless AI and green screen
People need to stop throwing AI around like it's responsible for all tech right now... 😏....The VR wall which is used a lot right now is actually very realistic and not everything is used with that. We get more location shots and variety today. The old Warner's lot was cool but it outlived its usefulness.
Keep in mind with sound stages they have full control of the environment so they can actually build real sets inside of them.
The backlot should have been preserved as a place for tours. It had a lot of rich history made over 89 years.
@@Darkk6969 Nope. Land is at a premium and they have simply run out of room. They need the studio space..
@@RS-jt6uk Yes, America, being such a young country doesn't have much history compared to Europe, but one aspect about the USA is how our tv shows and movies are seen throughout the world. No other nation can make this claim. This is a strong argument ad to why this lot should have been preserved.
