Its called Politics, if same interest its become allies, if against/rebel its become enemy in 1755-1757 Hui, Uighur, Han, Sibe ever alliance with Qing against Dzungar Mongols in Xinjiang. After wiping out the population of Dzungaria, the Qing government then resettled Han, Hui, Uyghur, and Sibe people on state farms in Dzungaria (most of which is located in present-day Xinjiang) to repopulate the area.
You should make documentary on other hui generals as well. If I’m not wrong the army of republic of China that put down the eastern turkestan was lead by a Hui general. Also Huis played a big role in post Qing China of cliques. There is also the history of “Gansu Braves”, regiment of Huis sent to protect Beijing from the western colonial armies.
Regardless, ethnicity varieties in this part of China, they all have Chinese blood. The CCP treated all equal and no oppression but bring infrastructure and economic benefits to them all. Long live China.
