And the answers from Ivan, Ash, Elijah, Kokoy and Adrianna are respectful, thoughtful, dignified and revealing. Plus there are some great laugh-out-loud moments. The story of Cairo's Angel, Angel of Mine and their Guardian Angel (Pearl) is quite simply a masterpiece and I hope to see it appearing in film and television festivals around the world, including here in London, when our world returns to normal.
Thank you so much for this series and the wonderful actors. The scene when Cairo and Gav argued was too real and emotional - I couldn’t keep watching. It was as extreme as in TharnType when Type broke up with Tharn and the actor Mew couldn’t stop crying!
when Ash said "I would like to extend this series to more seasons" I lost it right there.. I throw my earphone and scream internally that I become hot and red.. YES ASH PLS!!.. you don't know how that sentence made my day.. come on, take your time and make it happen.. we are here to support..
& their acting isn’t up to far with these guys or a bunch of actors in Thailand . But shipping crazed fans who fetishize on screen pairs in real life get hooked and get overly attached. A ton of bw fans boycotted them playing in their new series since they aren’t a pair. MewGulf barely even speak now & Gulf even said he can’t really act soooo…..
I love Gameboys. I really hope that this series gain more followers. This series is well written. It's so relatable, it's hilarious, it's chaotic, its cute, it's sad, it's painful, it's revealing, and it's captivating. Their acting is superb. I just love Caireel; their love and their struggles. I love Pearl's undying support to her friends. As an international fan, I'm so fortunate to come across this series. It gave me a glimpse of the Philippines. After watching this interview, I just realized that PH BL series are blooming unexpectedly in a midst of a pandemic. It really represents US, our community. I'm just so PROUD how we, the community rise even if its a hard time. And, gosh! Gameboys TEAM (Director, writer, casts and the whole staff) are GEMS! Their POVs are beyond! Hands down!!!

I hopped on the Gameboys bandwagon about a year late. I first saw Elijah Canlas’ amazing performance in Kalel, 15 on Netflix last month and I’m so happy I came across Gameboys as a result. It’s refreshing to see both Filipino and queer representation on a global scale. It deserves its success with its well-written story, powerful acting from ALL the cast, and the way it addresses important social issues. It helped me feel closer to my roots and taught me more about the LGBTQ community to be a more informed ally. I just wanted to say thank you for asking such insightful questions. This is one of my favorite interviews since you delved deeper into the creation of the series as well as the perspectives of Direk Ivan and Ash. It’s also such a treat to listen to Elijah with his eloquence, which I’ve seen in both his Tagalog and English interviews. As always, Kokoy and Adrianna bring such positive vibes (LOVE Kokoy’s punchlines).

This was a successful interview in terms of drawing out honest and eloquent answers to your intelligent questions. I'm amazed by the depth and wisdom of the actors despite their youth. My most memorable response came from Kokoy speaking about his similarity with Gav's character.

It is very distressing for many of we Canadians as we look on with dismay at the troubles in the USA at present. Yes, racism exists here, too, but it’s more subtle. I wish humans could get past separation to inclusion, the way Prime Minister Trudeau structured his cabinet. Did you know that he apologized for how LGBTQ were treated in the past in the military? How so? I don't see how letting people introduce and speak for themselves to viewers is weird, especially for viewers who are just starting to familiarize themselves with the series. People who do appearances on podcasts and TH-cam collabs introduce themselves all the time, so idk what's so "weird" about it.
