Yes all set up as a brand! I have 3 pen names. One for my fiction, one for my dinoasaur content (which is the one I've shared on this channel before that I don't really publish to now), and then a main one for all of my medium content books. I wish I had one for adults one for children rather than a dinosaur specific one!
What do you think of the option to increase bids for top of page/rest of search placement? I liked it at first, to try and push into a bigger niche, but I've also noticed that my ad isn't showing up at the top as often in a different (smaller) niche where a different one of my books has been top for months. I've bumped the bid for top of page slightly in response, and restored the rate, but my CPC is creeping up because of that...
Yeah I think you summed it up quite well, it depends on the quality of the book Vs the competition. If you're confident the book outshines all of the other books on page 1 then it's worth trying to increase the top of search percentage
I am pretty confident. It's gaining a sale about every 4-5 clicks, but it's a struggle to move into a bigger niche! I've been spoiled in the smaller niches, but I felt it was time to start hunting bigger game.
They definitely help, but I wouldn't go out of my way to like pay for reviews/do review swaps etc to try and trick Amazon. Your books will still sell without reviews, and then when it has a good amount of high reviews it will of course help the sell through. So my thoughts on it are don't sweat reviews, if your book is good and you sell copies, they will come
I currently have 12 books out that are a mix of low and mid content that I created over 3 months. I haven't had many sales in most of them. I applied autocampaigns to all initially, but found that they didn't get any sales. Is the expectation that one has to take a loss in the advertising initially and when does it make sense to stop advertising the books? I use midjourney, but I don't create too many coloring books any more due to the anti AI response that's generally received on Amazon. I now use AI more how one would use stock images, to help decorate a book and add elements, and try to create more by hand/manually where I can

This is a UK thing :). Check your tax requirements in your country as it'll be different
How do you get keywords for manual campaigns? And what’s your strategy to keep them profitable?
Search in the Amazon bar and look at auto fill suggestions mainly, and you can get keywords from learning through auto ads as well

Yeah down only. CPC tends to be more at launch and then I bring it gradually down
