@@selfpublishingempirehad issues with the book sizing even after adding the Amazon template as had white square around it. I was pretty upset that for a 8.5x 8.5 colour and gloss children's book, it would cost £7 to make, so for my first book I'm just trying to see if it sells just over cost. It's all been good experience I guess....I can say I'm an author too, although it's only an ABC children's book 🙂
Well first of all congratulations!!! It's a huge achievement. Then when you're considering your next book plan out the cost via kdp royalty calculator to see how much it'll cost :). Colour books are expensive on Amazon 100%!
Love your to the point no fluff monthly reports,no flashy 10k per month promises or unrealistic data. You inspire me to try harder to achieve same results. I'm still roughly 200$ per month and ads are killing me 😅
That's a great point to be at. I found the first 200 harder than going from 200-1000 if that helps at all! Keep going, keep doing your research for the books before making and keep us updated! Make sure you're being sensible with ads too :)
@@selfpublishingempire will do,keep posting valuable content! Also etsy is interesting. I started there and moved to Amazon I was selling digital only but found it hard to compete and decided to move on. Would be nice to have etsy as supportive income to Amazon business
Thanks for the update, info. My problem is tracking my ad spending. I"m still learning how to run effective ads. My ad budget is very small, which I'm sure is hurting my sales. I've published 23 medium content books, 10 composition notebooks and began the first week of April. I know I need to be patient. It's a marathon, not a sprint.
You're so early! Like you remember focus on the long term growth. I believe it took me over a year (part time) to even hit break even with medium and low content. Keep at it, keep learning, sounds like you're on the right path!
2,000 for July !!💪would it be possible for you to make a video on the lottery ads? I hear about that but don't really know what it is. Thanks in advance if you are OK with it
The no B.S approach and detail in this video earned you a like and subscribe. I'll be watching out for more. One question tho, I heard you mention midjourney. When uploading, do you always specify that your book was a.i assisted (that prompt Amazon always request). I'm always skeptical about that. Dunno if Amazon will look into it and suppress my book. So what's your take on it, please
Thank you! Yes I always declare it honestly, from what I've seen - at least currently - it seems more like a data gathering exercise. That could change, but my thoughts are they may start having info on the book saying what ai was used (perhaps in the near future)
I usually answer the same way on every book: No on the text. Yes, 1 or more images with extensive editing, and No on Translations. I'm not convinced people will care if they see a tag on a book about using AI. It's becoming so prevalent, it will be normal for just about everyone in the future. The problem will be when people lie about it. Amazon will know, so there's no need to lie about it. Do we care if we watch a good movie using CGI?
Spot the difference is just one of maaaaaaaaaany types of books I make and sell :). Coloring, Activity, Puzzle, Word Search, Crosswords, Spot the difference, Journals, Notebooks, Log Books. Recipe Books, even High Content... No matter what type of book you need to be doing effective niche research (ie finding opportunities where there's potential sales and you're not just copying other people) and then launching the books using ads. This isn't directed at you - just for anyone reading :). If you're looking at what others are doing (for example if you follow me and other publishers on Amazon) and just create the same things, you won't make many sales. You need to be finding opportunities for new types of books.
Inspired by you and started my kdp journey so far no sale😢... one question i want to ask you can we upload same journal cover for different pages book like 100, 160. So on with same cover interior is plain lined dotted journal.... please need your guidance 🙏
Performance. I'll give a new book a week or two and then pull back on ads and if it's performing well keep the ads going, if not, pull it back more/turn them off.
It was for a very specific niche for a community im a part of. So it's not something that's replicable really, unless for example you're part of a large group of people and make a book that would directly appeal to them

Always appreciate your thoughts Guy. Love seeing your positive comments pop up!
Followed your channel for a year now, and inspired to publishing my first book in August. It's been a learning curve to make this book.
That's awesome to hear. Anything you've found difficult to get to grips with so far?

Spot the difference books, you are doing midjourney editor on partial elements, pretty smart to be honest. But, how do you sell that well boss?

Nice work! $2000 profit is a great target to push for
Thanks! That's I think my new base aim per month that with TH-cam and other bits would mean a full-time salary.
@@selfpublishingempire Love it! Good luck
As I said a couple of months ago, aim for $2000. Now you finally are.🙂
I think you will get there next month.😉
Thanks Gary, yeah I remember you saying that - I tried to get there this month, but not quite yet!
@@selfpublishingempire You tried to get there for me. That’s sweet. 😛

Keep it up! No I don't think you can do that, I'd do different covers :)
@@selfpublishingempire thanks 😊
Good job..how you use midjourney for KDP??
Use midjourney to create images, whether that's coloring pages or just for things for the book cover or some stock-like images
How do you determine how much to set for your daily? What makes you choose a higher daily from one book to another?
Performance. I'll give a new book a week or two and then pull back on ads and if it's performing well keep the ads going, if not, pull it back more/turn them off.
@@selfpublishingempire Thanks! I'll need to try a higher daily and try that method.
My KDP account was terminated last year, I wonder if I can open a new one?
Unfortunately I don't think so :(
How You make Your book viral on twitter? Could You make video about this?

Man your content is really good but u doing ads wrong..
Thanks on the first point! What do you mean about ads?
