Hey MaxMor, we stayed mainly in riads the majority of the time, but we had so many miles we decided to use some here as a once in a lifetime experience. We essentially paid for 1 night, but stayed 3 nights. Our driver told us about the life of Moroccans and he helped us translate to also speak with locals and majority are on the same boat as you. Our driver told us how it's hard to get loans to buy a home or car and hard to save money in general. Of course the pandemic was really difficult for Morocco as well. Though it's been a rough couple of years for your country - every single person we came in contact with was so warm, kind, and welcoming. I can't wait to return! Your country is a very special place. I won't be staying at the Royal Mansour again though 😂 Thanks for watching ❤️
Sooo lovely. I stayed at the Mamounia and was also blown away by the amazing details and hospitality. I am loving your Riad tour! Such a treat to see how wonderful your hotel is!! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much, Mary! We travel so often and I think I need to start sharing all our little hotel/Airbnb stays. I always try and film every place we stay and so I have quite a few videos. I agree with you on the hospitality of the entire country. I know the Royal Mansour is a luxury place where you would expect this type of hospitality, but we stayed in all sorts of places that were not luxury and everyone was just so incredibly kind, giving, and thoughtful. I am looking forward to visiting again for sure.
Its actullay Royal Mansour not monsour ;) it is named after the great sultan Ahmed Almansour Addahbi (which means the golden victorious one). Because he conquered almost half of north Africa including the kingdom of songai in modern day Mali which was extremely wealthy in gold. So he brought all that gold and made Morocco very prosperous and powerful. Hope you had a great in Marrakech but you should explore other cities too! each place is special in its own way :) have fun!
Oh my goodness! That was a typo. If you look at my thumbnail I spelled it correctly. Thanks so much for pointing that out and for the history lesson. I really loved Morocco and I learned so much while being there - and still learning after leaving 😂 Thanks so much for watching and the correction ❤️❤️❤️ Btw - we went to many different cities and only stayed in Marrakech and total of 5 nights. We stayed all throughout Morocco for a month. I think our favorite place was Oualidia
I worked at that hotel .I was a bartender. In 1999 to 2006 .and now I'm in Orlando Florida working at walt Disney world. At the Moroccan pavilion in Epcot center .
Hey Mario! Wow - big change from Morocco to Florida! I'm curious to know if it was difficult to move? I kept hearing from locals how it's difficult to get a visa to travel and very expensive. Thanks for watching ❤️
@@YourHostJ for me it was not difficult. Actually walt Disney world brought me here to Florida. Disney management came to morocco looking for qualified employees that have experience and speak English. So I had an interview with them and I was lucky I got picked up from 250 people .but like you said it's not easy to get a visa to the states.
THE WORLD IS SO BEAUTIFUL BUT MARRAKECH IS THE BEST 💕💕💕💕
