    I'm from New Haven. I love my city! Whenever I go over the bridge I always like seeing the Downtown skyline from a distance. Especially at night because the bridge also lights up. It’s so beautiful to see.

      You got a nice city there man! It was my first visit ever. Oh It lights up at night? Nice! What color and are they able to change the color theme once a while?

    • @SpiritualGenius-ly2yb
      @SpiritualGenius-ly2yb 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When the bridge lights up at night the color is usually blue, but during certain holidays the color will change. I remember during the 4th of July I recall seeing the bridge being red, white and blue to represent the holiday and what it meant. I guess every once in a while the bridge will change colors. I think at one time it was purple too, but it's pretty cool.

      Nice! Thats always a winner. I really like when they lights up skyscrapers on a skyline too. It really adds something to a city... it is kind of showing another different face of it.

      I’m actually hoping that eventually the city of New Haven decides to build more tall buildings in the downtown area and hopefully some of those new buildings will light up at night. That would be awesome!

      @@FreewayFranks Apparently most of the time it lights up blue because that's the least disruptive color for birds. Not sure how many birds are flying around at night where the color of a bridge would affect them, but Connecticut has insane laws when it comes to conservation.

    Certainly an interesting song choice! That was a nice little road network that New Haven had, and that interchange in Hartford to conclude was really nice. Great work!

      Thanks man ! Once in a while I like to use different kind of music, not just and only Electro. I'm not a huge fan of rock in my personnal life, but I do enjoy some of them ! I did not expected that myself too. In fact, I had never planned to film this area until I saw this and decided to turn back at the last moment ! I see it was a good idea finaly lol

    Hope they should change the exit numbers to a mileage based markers on I-84, I-86, I-91, I-95, I-291, I-384, I-391, and I-691 throughout Connecticut like they did it on I-395 several years ago.

    • @FreewayFranks
      @FreewayFranks  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I assumed they did. In the province of Québec where I live, the ENTIRE freeway network has exits that are based on how much kilometers you are from the beginning of the Freeway, so you exactly know where you are!

    • @jdanon203
      @jdanon203 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You will be dead before Connecticut implements mileage based numbers on all of its highways. To be fair, there's not much advantage for them to change. 90% of interchanges in Connecticut are one mile or less apart.

    Holy crap... that new I-95 bridge & 91 interchange is finally done?!
    Seemed like on some Maps satellite imagery scans & even other videographers earlier this decade, that that whole thing in New Haven took easily a decade start-finish... and they were still tearing SOMETHING up at the beginning of the vid...

    • @FreewayFranks
      @FreewayFranks  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It looks like to be some serious roadworks there yes lol ... when I was there, it seemed like it was freshly open from yesterday (almost lol) Remind of the Turcot interchange in Montréal... I think it started in the early 2010 and still not done yet... will be by the end of 2020 :P

    • @SpiritualGenius-ly2yb
      @SpiritualGenius-ly2yb 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The I-91 & I-95 interchange have been done for over two years now, but it seemed as if it was going to take forever to be completed. It’s a big sigh of relief for a lot of people that it's finished because there always been construction in the area for so many years.

    • @FreewayFranks
      @FreewayFranks  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      When did it started ? Also, I saw some roadworks at the beginning of the video. I bet they are widening this part too or simply rebuilding the road surface ?

    • @SpiritualGenius-ly2yb
      @SpiritualGenius-ly2yb 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The construction that you saw at the beginning part of the video was a smaller bridge that was being rebuilt. They actually just finished it this past fall. Basically the highway was in poor condition.

    I almost always end up on this section of 95 heading to and from college. The bridge right after I-91 is amazing, since it lights up at night.
    I-95 in Connecticut gets a lot of hate, but I actually really enjoy it (when it's not backed up).

      I heard it took them an eternity to get all of this section done around the new biridge lol It seems they were still doing some roadworks at the beginning of my video too. I didn't get the chance to see it light up at night. What color is it most of the time?
