Very moving video Sarah. I was peer pressured by society to get a trade. At the start I was offered a job to get into sales but I turned that down because I was forced to think having a trade would be better for me. 10+ years later I’m still doing this trade that I don’t really like, the only thing that has changed is that my body has been hit hard by all the wear and tear from heavy lifting and thus I’m now forcing myself to branch out to something new for me. So am doing e commerce. I’m finding there are a lot of hurdles though and biggest one is peoples opinions. Great post, WT! One of the things not taught, (in uni or elsewhere), is the difference between Happiness and Contentment. Sadly, many never learn this. Also, in America, we seem to have a proclivity for graduating from high school financial illiterates. (I think that's due to the fact that the kids are being taught by those who are financial illiterates themselves, but I digress.) I think it was Mae West who once said, "Money can't buy happiness, but it sure affords you a gaudy kind of misery.", (or something to that effect). Thanks for sharing!

Sara that segue into the like and subscribe call to action was sweet! 👍😎👍 I don't think I've ever seen it done that smoothly. It was p-r-r-r-r-fect! I took college classes for webmaster/developer certificates and by the time I got the certificates, I was so burned out on the subject that I no longer wanted to do it. What's real telling about this is that I didn't learn programming in college, I learned it as a hobby. Those educators sure know how to take the fun out of things. I now suggest that youngsters look into valid apprenticeship programs in the skill trades. Not only do you get the training for a decent income, you don't end up with all that college debt in the process.
Colleges are made to make you burn out and drop out. Reason for this is you are usually still liable for loans and whatnot. It actually helps the college MORE if you drop out because either way its money in the bank and when you drop out you make room for someone else to join if it isnt too late in the semester. Best bet if you must go to a college is try to get a grant and go to a community college. You dont need to go to a prestigious college or ivy-league school because for one those are the most expensive on the PLANET and two, the ivy league BS is stuff they put in movies and TV because it makes someone think its some kind of status symbol, which again is a symptom of a zombie society.

KNOLEDGE IS POWER. KNOWLEGE IS SOMETHING NO ONE CAN EVER TAKE AWAY FROM YOU. YOUR LIFE EXPERIENCE IS THE HARD KNOCKS OF LIFE THAT WE ALL GET WITH OUR AGE. LOVE YOUR VIEDOS,
My uni cost 9k a year. It was in science. To me, even if it was useless, like history, I would still go to uni. It changed my life. I came out a much better person, made a lot of friends and found myself. Uni is different for everyone. You get what you want from it.
Can you not get friends and learn stuff (like by reading books at a library) without UNI? You see, thats the problem with society - we are literally conditioned almost from the cradle to the grave that you cannot have experiences and find new friends OUTSIDE of university... And then you realize when you are 30 or 40 that that's all bullshit.
I had some great memories at uni... But I have had even better memories running a business, networking, visiting conferences, scaling profits... I think there are lots of ways to find yourself. Uni is a pretty expensive one and it's the one everyone is told is the best. It's not even about costing $9,000 a year. It's about the 3-4 years of your life while you're young & super healthy with little responsibilities. There is so much you can do between the ages of 18-22. Imagine if kids in non-pandemic times who were studying a history degree that they never plan to use, instead did a backpack trip around the world for 4 years while working along the way to pay for it... they'd learn so much more, and not come out with debt! What an amazing way to study history, cultures, etc. Yet everyone signs up to sit in a class room to study Roman history and pay for the privilege, instead of visiting and working in Rome itself. It's kind of baffling honestly.
@@WholesaleTed 100% wisdom in this comment. If only everyone would realize this and free themselves from the bonds of society and be able to enrich their lives with REAL experience and see it instead of read about it, man the world I think would be so different and on such a different level. The key is for people to wake up and go experience the world instead of being told or reading about it. I am not talking about going to Bosnia-herzegovina, or Somalia or experience anything bad. There is still so much good in this world and so much beauty that can still be experienced and yet we allow society to convince us that the best way to learn about such things is being confined to a classroom being lectured by overpaid professors who think they know us better than we know ourselves. College is 100% a racket.
Sarah, I know I can't be the only viewer of yours who deeply appreciates your delightful personality. If you did some Twitch streaming of you playing video games or did some other YT channel where you sipped coffee and chatted at the camera, I'm sure my week wouldn't be the only one you brightened when you did it. Just a thought. Also, Happy Halloween (in a few days, anyway)!! Ya'll celebrate that most holy of candy collecting holidays in New Zealand, right?
Yep, gotta hate those Kiwi's in the park all the time so annoying. Seriously guys don't come to NZ, the Kiwi's here steal your stuff if you leave them lying around.
Thanks Sarah for sharing. I'm in North Carolina in the US. I went to college years ago. It's was a mistake. All but 1 of my so called professors introduced themselves on day one by telling the class 60 % of us would fail or drop out by mid term. This happened the first year. I call this strike one and yes there was strike 2 and 3. I eventually rose above the oppressions imposed by colleges and universities. I can work harder for myself rather than some institution that doesn't like me in the first place. I believe education or the lack of true education is the source of many problems that exist today.
On that day when the professor said that to me I would have stood up and said, "ok cool I guess Ill take one for the team then.. See ya!". And never looked back.
I totally agree with the whole not buying material stuff for the sake of buying more stuff to make you happy, but I find it funny that she says "don't buy more stuff", but she sells a bunch of the same "stuff" online. haha. no judgement though. it's all about supply and demand. She smart.
I thought for sure you were going to divulge how you got expelled for cheating! Personally I love school so much, if I had oodles of money I'd spend it on learning, although I don't know if I'd go back for a degree. There is just so much busy work and group projects that you have to do to pass. But maybe I'd just audit all my courses. PS I am well past my 20s and never traveled much because I was always broke. Recently I took a Mediterranean cruise and my biggest regret was not doing it when I was young and full of energy. I was not as "broke" as I thought and could have afforded it if I didn't squander my money on small, dumb purchases.
I'm just starting to do redbubble. What does Choose a universal background color for all your products. This is ideal for transparent files, mean? If I make it black, and if someone orders the shirt in blue, will the background color be black? Can you pick and choose just the color shirt you want the to be able to buy? If they buy a white shirt, will they have an option to have it in black text, or do I have an option to say if they order it in white, to have black text? Can I also just have the design on the front, or the back, without the buyer choosing? Half of my stuff is only made for the front, and will not look good on the back. I probably have lots more questions. But those are all I can think of for now.
I used a checking card during my first two years in college. I learned not to overspend early on. On the other hand, my friend used a credit card, and she ended up using thousands of dollars within a month.
When I was 13 or so, my step-grandpa gave me two pieces of advice: - Don't smoke - Get an education Over the years, I've come to realize the wisdom of that simple advice. I don't know if he was talking about formal education, as in going to a university and getting a degree, which I never did. However, education in the broad sense, as in learning and knowing things, opens so many doors in life. And smoking is a horrible and deadly addiction.
Biggest financial mistake I made in my 20's, vehicle purchases. Im talking about supped up sports cars (3 mustangs) after market parts, insurance, upkeep, storage, etc.. Also my truck, big tires, lift kits - you get the idea. Talk about a money pit you douse in gasoline and torch. My stock portfolio is the smartest thing ive done with money in my 30's. Should have done it so much sooner.
Thank you, I don't really have any goals at all but is still pressured to go to collage, in my country, it is also normal here to go to collage after school, but its just not my thing, thank you
I buy movies! It's been almost 22 years since I began collecting. I have amassed a collection of over 8,000 titles. I'm considering starting a TH-cam channel talking about these films. So while all my money over the years has gone into this hobby, I've had entertainment, I can now use it to create opportunities and attract others to me. I can also share this with family. So I turn the money I spent into two or more times its value. It's taken a lot of time, and I've had to learn a lot about building computers along with managing them, working with software to save the films and enhance their image. It's all been worthwhile.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts in doin business. I am around the same age as you and really understand that environment. I have an interest in business a long time. Me discovering your chatter really inspiring to become an entrepreneur. You have become my push at the back to explore the world. Thank you again.
Hey Sarah can you help me understand why teespring has removed some of my listings? They claim I was using content owned by a third party but that is not true. I made those designs myself and there is no way they can be copyright protected. The design in question is a pattern of alternating squares of different colors.
You can go back to them & appeal the decision, showing on your computer when you made it yourself. A competitor who was bitter quite possibly reported you. There is a reason I don't like selling on third party platforms. You have to deal with competitors. They do not always play fair: th-cam.com/video/jDjcqyd7vv0/w-d-xo.html

Here in New Zealand, the universities put up large billboards showing graduates with smiling faces and bright futures. It's all lies though; my graduate data analyst job paid the minimum wage. People who didn't go to university were already working their way up into decent jobs as supervisors by that time. If I could repeat life, I'd study a trade (such as an electrical certificate), and use my skills to renovate houses in my spare time.
My friend is a multi millionaire with just a h.s. degree. I got a b.a. however. It has helped me land jobs for sure. I did junior college so i only had to pay for 2 years at uni. Expensive, but was able to pay off in a year.
I feel the same about college....totally wasted my money! I tell my children they should only go to college if they need a degree or certificate to do what they WANT to do.

You definitely got me with the blue apron ad 😅
Thanks for calling out the social pressure and expectation associated with uni. It’s so ridiculous.
this is such a mood... I already regret so many of my purchases since I got a well paid job 😂😭
The good old needs vs. wants still does a lot!
You are very bright sarah.thanks for the eye opener.
That segway to blue apron was so smooth!
Loved the kiwi in the park. What else would you expect to find? Thanks for the info along with your great sense of humor (or is that humour?)
Yep, gotta hate those Kiwi's in the park all the time so annoying. Seriously guys don't come to NZ, the Kiwi's here steal your stuff if you leave them lying around.
Another former Neopian, young kiwi entrepreneur in her late 20s here. Hi Sarah, I appreciate your videos and intelligence :)
Yay!! A super Sunday surprise from Sarah! Thanks for posting a another super video! Your videos always make my day!
Your videos are really entertaining and educational!! I’m a fan
"Stip by stip" 😂😂😂😂 its cool to see someone laugh at themselves.
Very good video thanks! Love your opinion about university. Don't get pressured into it.
Loved it Sarah! It was reassuring to me being a college drop-out myself! Lol! Thank you for your videos!
Another great insightful video!
I love hearing about your experiences and seeing your point of view, the more of these videos the better!
University is so expensive, they give you a certificate in the end and thinking you can finally get a proper job.
It's a racket.
but Sarah preparing meal is by far the happiest moment of my life.
If that's what makes you happy - then do it.
You're really great! I just signed up for your monthly program. I'm very excited! You're so smart!
When I was 13 or so, my step-grandpa gave me two pieces of advice:
- Don't smoke
- Get an education
Over the years, I've come to realize the wisdom of that simple advice. I don't know if he was talking about formal education, as in going to a university and getting a degree, which I never did. However, education in the broad sense, as in learning and knowing things, opens so many doors in life. And smoking is a horrible and deadly addiction.
I honestly love your channel, your financial advice and overall life advice is inspiring 🙂

It's all been worthwhile.
awesome content boss just what i needed im 19 with no savings...but this vid gives me hope
Don't get the problem with credit cards. I never needed one, and the one i had, was never activated, but cut in half immediatly after receival.
Sara, offer such a good content, thank you so much
Am I the only one that notices for smile after the end of almost every sentence. I love the videos. I just can't unsee the smile.
Flexing the Gucci in front of McDonalds in the thumbnail is everything. 😍
Thank you for sharing your thoughts in doin business. I am around the same age as you and really understand that environment. I have an interest in business a long time. Me discovering your chatter really inspiring to become an entrepreneur. You have become my push at the back to explore the world. Thank you again.
Amazing videos ..I think ur videos makes so much sense than any other utuber who says this video change ur life😂. U r great 🔥❤️
Hey Sarah can you help me understand why teespring has removed some of my listings? They claim I was using content owned by a third party but that is not true. I made those designs myself and there is no way they can be copyright protected. The design in question is a pattern of alternating squares of different colors.
You can go back to them & appeal the decision, showing on your computer when you made it yourself. A competitor who was bitter quite possibly reported you. There is a reason I don't like selling on third party platforms. You have to deal with competitors. They do not always play fair: th-cam.com/video/jDjcqyd7vv0/w-d-xo.html
@@WholesaleTed Thank you for taking the time to reply to my comment.
I like the way you talk with that sweet way
Nice. I stopped showing up to uni after two semesters. Lol. Save me a some good money.
Sarah I really like to watch your video like this more where you talk about your life experiences and I really love to hear that ... please tell more about more about the college life or professional course like CA , lawyer Something like that is it worth it for an entrepreneur...I know there are lot of videos but I want hear from you sarah
Hi sarah is there any print on demand for toys, school supplies and children merchandise? Thank You.
Awesome!! Wish I had that advice before wasting so much time & money!!
I am 17 and reflecting on my 20's.
Debt is only bad when your outgoings exceed your incoming cash flow.
My friend is a multi millionaire with just a h.s. degree.
I got a b.a. however. It has helped me land jobs for sure.
I did junior college so i only had to pay for 2 years at uni. Expensive, but was able to pay off in a year.
Great advise!! University vs passion.
Sarah, can you tell us the location of the fountain of youth? Please?
Good genes.
i never had a credit card in my life only debit prepaid if i need cash i get the app and tranfer it as needed from my bank acount
the best of all your videos, tenkiu
Decade expectations are wealth based, there's no way to live life and never compare yourself to another's story
i would like to visit Newzeland one day .i looks like a nice place for a good vacation
I feel the same about college....totally wasted my money! I tell my children they should only go to college if they need a degree or certificate to do what they WANT to do.
That’s great advice thank you haha I’m going to probably teach my future kids this lesson 💖
Thank you Sarah for your advice, I've taken a lot away from this video like always pf your content
I see all these methods of how to do dropshipping.
But i never see videos of what happens behind the scenes
for example the VAT/GST taxes and how to deal with it when it comes to global clients
I myself have tried to do research on it but it's sounds so complicated when it involves global clients
My video which will hopefully be out tomorrow will show how to manage taxes in an online store 🌞
Hi Sarah, I’m from the US and just discovered you about two weeks ago. I have been watching all of your videos. You are amazing and I thank you so very much for all of your amazing content! As a result of your channel, I’ve decided to start my POD stores before the end of this month and I told my mom and two sisters so they can do the same. Question for you, do you recommend for the business creating a separate business name from your own name? For example, I notice you use Wholesale Ted. Are you considered a sole proprietor or should I start an LLC for my stores. Lastly, are you going to be on Instagram live tonight or no?
You can get that free small fries deal with debit cards in NZ too. With asb at least. But I never use it.
I didn't know the offer still existed in some form! It's a pretty good deal... if you eat McDonalds 😜
Thank You Sarah..
Hey I find this video really useful and helpful, I’m also from New Zealand! Thank you for the great video! 😁
