Legionary assassin's sometimes drop Brush Gun if you're at a high enough level. Of course, you have to have a low reputation with the Legion for the assassins to show up.
fallout 4 has clear winners. Fallout has items such as medicine stick, gobi campain rifle, christines sniper, sniper+, gauss rifle (experimental version), and antimaterial rifle that all have their perks. Gobi has the highest dps Christine is silenced and has high single target damage Sniper+ is good for weaker enemies and strong at follow up shots while having a silencer, firing faster than Christines rifle. The special gauss weapon does the most damage, and with lazer commando and 13 luck, as well as other perks, can get constant crits even out of stealth. The antimaterial rifle is heavy, slow, but does the most damage. Medicine stick is not silenced, but has the highest DPS and is overall great for any situation except for very long range. 6 different rifles that all have a purpose. This is why I enjoyed Black ops 2 and new vegas, each weapon (even the golden gloves which stun your opponent to hell) had a purpose.
Around level 4 I was running to Nipton through the desert when I was attacked by two supermutants around some railways. One of them chased me all the way to Nipton and I entered through the back near the Wild Wasteland encounter house. I climbed on top of one of the houses and used up all my grenades, dynamite and ammo of 4 different guns to try and kill him. All of the LEgionaries were killed by the mutant. I climbed down and delivered the final two blows with a baseball bat. I loot the mutant and my reward is: The Light Machine Gun! That's one way to get it and I was very low level too, so yeah...
TheBunkoman Yeah, I did the same thing (But mine was nearby a den close to Primm). I always confront that Super Mutant in every new game I play through. I got a Super Sledge and the Light Machine Gun.
You were probably near Jackrabbit Springs. It's a small radioactive area up on th mountain s just south of Primm as you head toward Nipton. There's always one supermutant there that carries the Light Machinegun, and I don't think your level affects whether he has it or not.
Ahhh, The Brush Gun..... I will miss it greatly. It was from that VERY Reliable and dependable Rifle, that I grew to LOVE Lever-action Rifles. There is a Lever-action Rifle in Fallout 4 that uses the same, or slightly differn't ammo, but it can never take the place of the Brush Gun/Rifle. This Machine was incredible as well. SOOO MANY of my enemies lost their heads to this Powerful Rifle....
If you have the 'Lonesome Road' DLC, you can find the Anti-Materiel Rifle, Brush Gun and Marksman Carbines on the Marked Men throughout the Divide, aswell as a ton of other high value weapons. At high levels, that place is like the Gun Runners' closing down sale.
I suggest 2 additional things you should do before going after the All-American. First, do the quest Come Fly With Me by helping the Bright Followers. In the launch room, go to the self by the door and pick up the Space Suit, a better version of the radiation suit. Then, survive getting toward Nelson Airport and help the Boomers through their questline. Near the end of this you will get a Re-breather that lets you breath underwater. These will make getting the All-American Much easier.
Your corresponding guns skill is directly tied to how much your character's hands sway when aiming. You have to remember this game is an RPG first, and a shooter second. It crunches a lot of numbers before it even considers your input.
Chill Vester I never said the Anti-material rifle was better. -_- I said it was a sniper rifle, as in it's the same class of weapon as the Gobi campaign rifle...
Chill Vester And what is that supposed to mean? Your comment doesn't make sense because I was not inferring that one rifle was better than the other. Therefore why to need to comment, specifically to me, that the Gobi is the better rifle? That's why it makes no sense. Maybe you should think before your type and read what the post is actually about.
I love the "This Machine" (M1 Garand) rifle. It is by far one of the best rifles in the game and a one that I have to make freqent trips to various rapair "shops" to keep it maintain due to my heavy use of the rifle for all of my Mid to Close range combat.
I find the Anti Material Rifle to be very unreliable. It's heavy, the ammo is rare and expensive, it's slow, it had a lot of recoil. I recommend the Sniper Rifle and the Gobi Campaign Scout Rifle. Even a scoped Hunting Rifle is good.
Dzh123 The anti material rifle is mostly ment to deal with the thoughest of opponents, like deathclaws. It's also really useful if you use the explosive rounds.
Dzh123 Expensive ammo does not matter at all in this game. Caps are easy as fuck to get. I had 2,000 caps by the time I finished all the quests in Goodsprings in just one run without Courier's Stash, imagine how much I would've had with it on. Hell, the game gives you 10,000 caps for free just for getting 5 snow-globes in some easy to find places. Also, 50.MG ammo isn't too rare in my experience. I go 500 regular, explosive, armor piercing, and fire ammo just from the Quartermaster in Hoover Dam, and then around 700 from Gun Runners Vendortron. Anti-Materiel Rifle (GRA) is better in pretty every way except firing speed IMO. Gobi is ok, and Sniper Rifle is very good. But AM just feels more powerful to me.
5:05 the safe on the wall back there in this office is rlly important if like me u didnt bother with rad away lol it has 10 of em in it as well as stimpaks etc so be sure to unlock it " little tip on this awesome helpful vid :) "

another place to find the Light machine Gun is on a super mutant north of Nipton and south-east of Primm in the irradiated hills near the tracks. Be warned, he is wielding the weapon and puts up a decent fight, alongside centaurs.

I just went through it as well and didn't find it to be too bad. The ghouls were bullet spongey but Veronica tanked up a lot of hits, and even when I was hit, it wasn't too devastating. Ended up popping about 10 radaways though
The radiation was very annoying, but other than that it wasn't very hard, Vault 11 robots were less of a threat too, but that was because I manage to found some EMP grenades and I got the pulse gun before that, for the rest I just use a hammer against the rats and mantis
No love for the Ratslayer? A bit easier to get early on if you know the place and have a Stealth Boy on hand (Which you can nab fairly easily if you side with Goodsprings and take out the Powder Gangers), ridiculous crit-rate, plentiful ammo. It's one of the first guns I go for in a new game, when I can.
This is somewhat outdated as some weapons now do have at least an alternate, if not superior version of them thanks to the Gunrunner's DLC, but as far as the vanilla/base game of New Vegas exclusive, it is still entirely accurate. Example being the Brush Gun, and the Gunrunner's Arsenal DLC variant, the Medicine Rifle.

ItsCryptic Different? How? All I see are improvements. I was reading about an interview while I was worried about them making it into more of an FPS rather than an RPG but Todd Howard said that "We started out with Fallout 4 knowing that, look, we can't apologise for being a role-playing game." but then he went on to say that he wanted to still improve on the FPS combat.
ItsCryptic I actually like the complexity. If they really want to make a Fallout game where you can do whatever you want, it needs to be complex. Plus, they might have gotten rid of skills so they are making it more user-friendly.
I just hate the fact that the only way to get some of the best guns in the game involve pissing off the NCR (because I always play for them, house or myself. The Legion can SUCK IT). Either that or spending a ton at the Gun runners. Catch 22. (Unless you play PC and cheat them in through Console Commands)
Care to explain yourself? I have most of this guns, and I didn't have to piss off anyone, maybe I can help you out friend. It's been 3 years so maybe you have figured it out yet :L
Thanks for the guide to find the light machine gun. Gonna be a pain in the @$$ to get one but ok. Also, isn't the Medicine Stick the superior version of the Brush Gun?
It's called "This Machine". The non-unique variant in the DLC is called the "Battle Rifle". FONV doesn't name the weapons after the real life counterparts.
Although most prefer the AM rifle due to its stopping (or killing) power, I really like my scoped hunting rifle and would prefer that in most cases - even against deathclaws. The reloading animation gets me every time
bravo russian sir. you have earned my respect. you sticked with your opinion to the end. i respect a man who sticks with his opinion to the very end. i hope you do good and may God have mercy on your Fallout Character's soul.
So on the weapon guide for Energy Rifles, I asked what everyone's favorite was. Now, I'd like to know what everyone's favorite Guns Rifle is. It can be any two-handed Guns Rifle from any DLC or in the Vanilla game. My pick: Christine's CoS Silencer Rifle. (Old World Blues) Why: It has all-round good stats, it's completely silenced, has a scope, and is an excellent choice for sniping. Though it's stats are not the best in any category, they're all-round good and balance out very well to create an all-purpose and general-use long-range rifle for any Courier.
And This Machine on the dlcs my favourite weapons from them are not rifles, in honest hearts a light in shining darkness, owb is elijahs advenced laer, Lonesome road
New Vegas for PS3 has some very annoying bugs, but one of the things about it that I really like is that the gun turg knew what he was doing. As a reloader myself, I like the reloading ability in the game, and the accuracy of his knowledge. Only a gun guy would even know about the American 180 submachinegun, which was only made in very small numbers about 35 years ago. That is the basis of the .22 submachinegun in the game. Cool weapon. Look it up.
Great video it was very helpful for my play through, but I do want to mention the legion assassins that you can get by going against them, also carry most of these vanilla guns. Yes they may be very damaged but repairing them is usually cheaper then buying them
Legion Assassins also carry the Brush Gun. If you become Vilified by Caesar's Legion, Legion Assassins will begin appearing regularly throughout the game. In addition to Brush Guns, you can also get 12.7mm SMGs, Marksman Carbines, Assault Carbines, and Thermic Lances.
I like the Trail Carbine over the Brush Gun because of the better sight picture and because .44 Magnum is more readily available than .45-70. Also if you handload, .44 Mag SWC doesn't beat up the gun like .45-70 SWC.

If you are a low level, I recommend looking into a unique weapon called "ratslayer" it will treat you well until you can get one of these.
Does anyone else play New Vegas, and kill the Gun Runners just for their items? I do. And they respawn. It's a good way to get caps, if you can wait.
ROBLOX seto same
make some of these vid but Fallout 3 weapons please!
Welcome to what got me going on TH-cam!
th-cam.com/play/PLE5FAE9B55D7CDCB2.html
hahaha cool thanks!
+James Hornby It would be impossible, as you literally can make any variant of any gun. Lol
+Alex Terrel there are legendary guns in the game that he can cover.
+TheLongsRock yeah that is true but I was really dissapointed with what they did with the unique weapons
Why show Brush Gun instead of Medicine Stick?
lol
that was cool how they heads explode by getting hit with a green stick
ikr
+Albert Einstein
Yup, now i use a native american inspired brush gun
Ducks Wait... I thought the Gun Runners only showed up if you have the GRA?
its 2018, and still really like your narration
Best guides i have even seen on youtube thanks a bunch ;)
Medicine......Stick
Base... Game
where is the gobi sniper rifle, its so much better than that trash anti materiel
Don't listen to ESO, he's dyslexic for a reason.
I got an anti mat rifle from a legion scout
+Paron Zubalon Damn that's fucked up lol
+Paron Zubalon Fuck off bitch.
***** We know where it is he means where it is on the video dumbass
m1 garand
say it right!
Shut up!
it right!
Do I win now?
It's called "This Machine". The non-unique variant in the DLC is called the "Battle Rifle". FONV doesn't name the weapons after the real life counterparts.
dont care thats what it is.
Daniel-Paul Roberts who liked his comment again?
,thank you for this...i got so many weapons because of your series..
Although most prefer the AM rifle due to its stopping (or killing) power, I really like my scoped hunting rifle and would prefer that in most cases - even against deathclaws. The reloading animation gets me every time
I highly appreciate the work and effort put into this video :D btw nice voice ;)
you are the fallout god i really like your videos keep up the good work
bravo russian sir. you have earned my respect. you sticked with your opinion to the end. i respect a man who sticks with his opinion to the very end. i hope you do good and may God have mercy on your Fallout Character's soul.
Amazing performers i wouldn't been able to explain it like u! Thumps up keep up the goodwork
This is the best guied i have ever seen
So on the weapon guide for Energy Rifles, I asked what everyone's favorite was. Now, I'd like to know what everyone's favorite Guns Rifle is. It can be any two-handed Guns Rifle from any DLC or in the Vanilla game.
My pick: Christine's CoS Silencer Rifle. (Old World Blues)
Why: It has all-round good stats, it's completely silenced, has a scope, and is an excellent choice for sniping. Though it's stats are not the best in any category, they're all-round good and balance out very well to create an all-purpose and general-use long-range rifle for any Courier.
Brush gun/Medicine stick, Assault Carbine, All American, and Hunting Rifle/Pacincia
+Christopher Allen I'm just useing it and its awesome
The default Hunting Rifle
hunting rifle, with all modificatons, every time I play the game I have one also the gobi sniper both are my favorite rifles
And This Machine on the dlcs my favourite weapons from them are not rifles, in honest hearts a light in shining darkness, owb is elijahs advenced laer, Lonesome road
I really enjoy these guides! (I've finished the game!)
Look it up.
Drinking beer and watching this...... Heaven!
love all the editing you have done for the vids :D
Great video it was very helpful for my play through, but I do want to mention the legion assassins that you can get by going against them, also carry most of these vanilla guns. Yes they may be very damaged but repairing them is usually cheaper then buying them
Legion Assassins also carry the Brush Gun. If you become Vilified by Caesar's Legion, Legion Assassins will begin appearing regularly throughout the game. In addition to Brush Guns, you can also get 12.7mm SMGs, Marksman Carbines, Assault Carbines, and Thermic Lances.
Your voice .. is so deep and lovely to hear it :)
I missed watching these
dude you are the most awesome guy i've seen hands down :)
You guys really made my fnv experience thanks
You have the best voice ever.
if u have the right build, the gobi scout rifle if better than the anti material rifle, check out eso's guide
I like the Trail Carbine over the Brush Gun because of the better sight picture and because .44 Magnum is more readily available than .45-70. Also if you handload, .44 Mag SWC doesn't beat up the gun like .45-70 SWC.
i subscribed because you explain everything so well and so good. i will be seeing more of your videos soon
nice work! i would love to see an episode on the different types of ammo
