Jerry, I hope you'll keep practicing this shooting-thing.
I honestly think you're right on the verge of getting the hang of this sport.
Seriously Jerry, thank you for all your efforts to make these videos for us. It's really appreciated.
10 years later, he broke 2 more world records
Glad he mentioned the lower position of the cylinder gap. I never considered that. I love watching him shoot. It's like watching Bruce Lee; you want to go out and train hard, once you see what high levels of skill some people can achieve.
That says something about you as an individual. Tenacity.
A lot of people might see The Great Lee Jun Fan doing Kung-Fu and actually be intimidated, immediately tell themselves, "theres no way, I could never do that!!" but your first impulse is to accept the challenge.
Thats a strength and I disagree that everyone has that fire inside, I would venture to say that not enough have it.
Bruce would agree with me here ;) personal idol of mine.
@@somefkingrando Fantastic comment. Totally agree with you.
2:13 he says he won it in a “side match” .... who in their right mind would made a side bet against this man???
Some people gift that way.
Someone bet him they could hit 2 plates faster then he could hit 8.
Robbie Leatham, Cliff Koenig, Taran Butler, and Chip McCormick
@Peter Angles for all that he is still one of the best shooters in the world in those disciplines he competes.
@Peter Angles also glad to know you speak for most of the gun industry
What's really amazing is that the Rhino has a long and heavy trigger pull in DA. Newer models are supposed to be lighter, but this video is nearly a decade old and Jerry said he had the gun in a box for a few years. It's possible he had the trigger worked on and didn't mention it, but I would think he would have. So, if he's pulling a standard, old trigger, then it truly is amazing that he can shoot that fast and accurately with the DA trigger.
"...being the first one on the range and the last one to leave..." yeah my bank account wont let me buy that much ammunitions to stay that long lol, therefore I cannot be the best
Paul Douglas reloading is probably the only way. Plus your going to be replacing barrels at least due to the number of rounds.
I’m happy that you know your place. Jk
Forget ammo, i can even afford the range time that long
Paul Douglas 22lr bulk is a wonderful thing, just buy 22 guns for training then keep the real calibers for defense and competition and such
@@nobodyimportant290 they say the ruger mark iv is good practice/competition gun
I love it when the Ammo fell out of the box. So I'm not alone.
Larry Jones
You're in good company.
Definitely funny when he dumped the ammo, he laughed too
He's human after all....was beginning to wonder after all these years.
slippery little suckers
I couldn't help but laugh...
So much respect for a guy who is an all-time great at what he does, but has a sense of humor and is secure enough to show that he's human (the ammo box, the thumb burn, etc.). Terrific video.
The Rhino 200DS is my EDC and must say I really like it. Many people shit talk this revolver for it looks but it absolutely does reduce muzzle flip to almost nothing on the .38 and .357 to me feels like it’s in between a .38 and .38+P.
I’ve been shooting revolvers for over 30 years and this is one of my most favorite guns to carry oh and my nickel SW model 15 snub.
Just my opinion.
How do bear loads feel out of it?
@@AleV69692
Never tried ..never had the need and the Rhinos still working perfectly.
@@mikeriv60 is it naturally off point of aim due to the placement of the barrel? Or is sighted in at a certain distance from the factory?
@@AleV69692
Hmm I think it's just a different aim point because of the barrel location but nothing crazy, once you shoot 50 rds through it you'll see how accurate it is. Obviously when I go from the rhino to my Model 15 I do adjust grip but really not bad just remember to watch thumb if your the type that holds revolvers in a semi auto grip that thumb will be right at the gas release point of the cylinder.
I was actually thinking of getting the 3 in which imo is the perfect size for these guns but prices are expensive, I paid $650 for mine new.
@@mikeriv60 have you ever thought of putting some ftx sights on it? To have good visibility 24/7?
The thing that impressed me the most about this video was during the slo-mo. It's unreal how fast Jerry is firing this weapon and yet he still uses perfect trigger pull mechanics. Slow squeezes on the trigger. He is shooting six rounds in 1 second and not a single trigger slap. This guy is the real deal!!!
It's funny because the fastest I can shoot a .357 or .38 is just as fast if not slower than the slow motion clips.
Depressing isn't it? Love to watch the master though.
Jerry got some t
tough wrists.
basically the same with my rhino. but i shoot .357 with it. cant go even as fast as slow mo's and be on target
By the time you've shot as many rounds as he has you should be getting somewhat close
Time splits can be outdone as all records are meant to be broken. It's not magic. Just hard work, focus, determination, elimination of wasted motion.
Well Jerry you may be a better shooter than me but I"m a really good parallel parker, so..... there!!!
…with a camera!
Would love to see you and Hickock45 do a joint video on your favourite guns over the years (not saying you are old or anything!) would be an instant 10,000,000 views I think :)
nicerperson is watch it...
Could’ve left the clarification out about you “not thinking he’s old” By saying that could make him or anyone else you speak with think that’s what your implying.
Hickock the only guy i see shoot at long distance with handguns, at least all the time n e way.
@Aaron Jones Different styles.Hickok45 is a marksman.Jerry is a speed shooter, which is useless at the distances Hickok45 normally shoots at.
@Robert Walker Miculek has a 1000yd pistol shot record...
No, Jerry... NO! Don't make me want a Rhino!
You might want to look into a S&W 627 or the likes before you 'pull the trigger' on a rhino :)
*****
Going to have to agree with the expert on this one. im lucky enough to own a 627 from the S&W performance center and as far as wheel guns go it shoots like nothing else iv handled,
***** With me, it's like before I TRY to pull the trigger. Even with both thumbs on the hammer, I can't cock that blasted gun and my fingers are trembling after 3-4 shots double action. It's too hard for this old lady to shoot. Am going to put some snap caps into the thing and dry fire it double action. I'll have to do so with my off-hand as well, or I'll end up with muscles in my right hand and arm like yours, Jerry, and none in my left hand and arm! That gun wears me out. I think the trigger pull on it double action is about 35 pounds and I have no idea about the single-action because that's never gonna happen for me in this life! I'm so disappointed because it's a fascinating gun, but I like my S&W Performance Center 627 a LOT more. That's a sweet revolver. Love at first shot.
I've shot the Mateba. It sucks.
+George Hill What about the Webley-Fosbery? The granddaddy of all auto-revolvers?
I'm always impressed watching Jerry shoot.. It never gets old.
I love the honesty and wisdom you provide on these reviews. Straight and honest.
Thanks!
Very impressed how much you actually shot it. Most reviews don't show near that. We appreciate your dedication!
the slowest replay would still probably be faster than most of us shooting. haha
+Evan Dickerson By the time he's got all 6 alternating I'd be about ready to fire my first round lol
Truth!
Love Jerry. He cracks me up and just has a blast shooting every time.
What a legend Jerry is, so glad he's doing these videos.
You should be on COD as a bonus character level unlock
“It’s not fair his magnum didn’t have any recoil”
How much hand grip power must Jerry have? He probably shakes your hands like a bench vice...^^
I pity anyone who shakes his hand
I feel sorry for all the guys that showed up to date his daughter. “Yes sir, we’ll be back by 7”
Jerry shoots a S&W 500 Mag how the next guy shoots a 22. Jerry may be the only guy that can safely shake Chuck Norris's hand
Beautiful gun. I know own two different barrel length White Rhinos. Recoil is straight back keeping you on target instead of barrel rising/flipping up. Thanks Jerry, I'm really happy. Money well spent.
Miculek is a Legend also in Europe!!
I could watch Jerry shoot all day. He's the real deal.
Jerry M. is the master blaster of disaster!!! A class act all the way around. Thanks for the reviews and the great entertainment of the years.
This guy has speed hack and Aimbot..
No...he has all gun skills maxed out
Baker Tankersley nah he's a noob......
thesinaclwon Do you know what a noob is? He is FAR from it.
Kai Johannessen do you know what sarcasm is?
thesinaclwon I know what idiocy is! I can sense it in your comment
Sir you put a smile on my face the whole time thank you.
Great video.
What an amazing American athlete and handgun professional.
I learned more about this Chiappa in four and a half minutes then I have on any other TH-cam video and yes, I did finish watching the video.
When Jerry Miculek is talking , you shut up and listen.
He knows five lifetimes more then you.
This Rhino actually have a verry low recoil, but in his hand it seems like not even mooving !
Pardon my english, I'm French.
Cajun French, Mr. Row-ban? ;)
Isn't he something to watch him shoot? He has forearms like tree trunks!
The round firing from the bottom of the cylinder mean that the recoil is sent directly into your arms rather than in an upwards motion. Quite brilliant really.
Sawyer Douglas Yes, the design is very brilliant. I only wish that the trigger pull wasn't so stiff and I could cock the false hammer, but it isn't and I can't. Very expensive toy, it was.....
well to be fair he is using .38 special
The new rhino triggers are improved. I own a 2009 Rhino 200DS and a 2017 Rhino 50DS noticable improvement.
I wish shooters would say how far from the target they are. Videos always make me think they are standing on top of the target Jerry you are amazing I just started shooting last year at 68.
I own numerous hand guns in several Calibers. I have a shooting range here on my Montana Ranch. I’d like to say I shoot an awful lot most Spring/ Summer/ Fall. But Jerry makes me look like an amateur. Thanks Jerry for showing us what controlled mayhem looks like.
Always amazing to watch you shoot. The speed and accuracy. Just bought a Taurus 605 that stole my heart. It is so handy for carry.
that's the nicest looking rhino I've seen. I'd love to see more guns with a similar design
Agreed, it's such an unusual looking gun. It's one of my favorite *looking* guns ever.
It was great that you mentioned the placement of the cylinder gap. So many just talk about the low bore axis, but fail to mention the implications of the correspondingly low cylinder gap. Awesome video all the way around as always.
The Rhino is (when it comes to design) one of my favorite contemporary revolvers, although in this case I have to say: the shorter it is, the better it looks! Anyway, enjoyed your videos as always!
Good shooting as always Jerry... After seeing you shoot the Rhino , i will keep shooting my collection of S&W revolvers , i love the models i own... I just added the 617 model 10 shot to my line up.. Love that one ..
The major plus of the Chiappa is that the impulse is straighter into the hand because it shoots out the bottom cylinder. This means there's no harsh blister inducing torquing of the grip shooting .357 mag. (Anyone who's shot .44 mag knows exactly what I'm talking about). Further, as long as you can find the front sight, the rakish grip angle really won't affect accuracy, as it's otherwise very trim and ergonomic (as opposed to the rakish but bulky Glock grip angle).
AboveMediocrity2010 if they made a 44 mag I just might buy it. Got my dads colt anaconda and it’s s fun shooter.
Lots of potential for accidental burns though 😅
Really resonate with your level of safety! Always making sure the firearm is safe! Should always be number one. Jerry you are legendary in the firearms world! Always learning from you , yong fella. Yong at hart. Your awesome. Thanks
Lol his weak hand is 10x better than my supported strong hand on a perfect day! Lmao.
He shoots better upside down than I ever will right side up.
This guy is SO GOOD!!!! I can't shoot an auto as fast as he does a wheel gun. Good stuff!
His face when he spilled the box was so endearing.
AMAZING shooter! Firing the gun upside down AND on target takes REAL skill! IMPRESSIVE!!! Would like to see a step by step video about the parts of the Chiappa Rhino revolver for those beginners, as everything else was thoroughly explained by Mr. Miculek.
That spill got you a new subscriber! LOL
Same here
Impressive to shoot a new designed gun with such accuracy.
The new FBI test standard for ammunition is going to be Radial Dispersion of Corn Kernels
Much appreciation for you leaving in the part about thumb safety (@ 08:33) where an absolute legendary master can still make mistakes and champion a burn with a smile...for the benefit of noobs like me.
thank you.
I would like to see some work with a F&N 5.7.
Thanks Jerry, I was trying to decide between this and a GP 100 in 357. Looks like I'll have another Ruger soon!
4:15 - removing guns - that is what I was waiting for after ammo appear on the table
be like Jerry! Keep guns and ammo apart while playing out of shooting range!!
Seems like an easy fix putting a shield below that cylinder where it wont burn you. I've seen this gun before and your right. The grip is different. Very interesting gum. I was warned by the store of the barrel placement and could get burned. Thanks for an excellent video.
In Italian the Chi and double cc make a hard consonant sound like k not the soft c sound as we would produce in English. It is pronounced like (KEY AH PA) chiappa or (FEE OH KEY) Fiocchi.
Thanks for the Italian lesson i always wondered how it was properly pronounced :) Shakes hands CIao
Mark Aul there is a difference between c and ch
Thanks Christopher lah-veh- key-ah.
Go fucci yourself. No one cares
Christopher LaVecchia The double consonants have meaning in italian. It should be (KEY AHP PA) and (FEE OHK KEY)
It was fun to watch you have so much fun! Now and again, I like trying something new. Thanks for the insights, sir, God bless.
4:02 laughed my ass off. that face he made was hilarious
I always come back to this demonstration of shooting greatness. Fun drinking game, take a shot everytime Jerry says "wrist angle" & "not too bad" !
when somebody shoot a double action revolver faster and more accurate than you shooting a 9mm competition pistol
People that are raised on revolvers are not surprised..
You absolutely rock! Best overall comprehensive presentation. Firearm reviews need to be addressed by professionals.
Do one on the Kimber K6S
I love that you kept dropping the ammo in. I do that all the time in those little boxes. Had a 100 count 45 box and dumped it all over the kitchen about a year ago. Just found two hiding under the fridge last week haha
Did I miss jerry talking about how well the Chiapa handles recoil better than S&W's?
His sponsorship by S&W probably had something to do with that lol
It's not really pertinent to the video but Jerry's enthusiasm & high spirits are infectious! Thanks for the upload!
mate. what a fun review
7:51 "I had to think more about what i was doing" - as he shoots 6 rounds on target on 1.75 seconds, lol. I cant imagine myself processing feedback im getting from the gun that fast. And that's why the man is a legend.
"I was a little bit high." -Jerry Miculek, 2013
Little bit of a ghetto grip on those weak hand shots, too.
In all seriousness, though. Nice video. Thanks, Jerry.
I'd love to see this thing hybridized with the idea behind the Medusa M47 revolver and then offered with bigger and smaller cylinders as well as at LEAST adding the 3" size class, and preferably move to half inch increments starting at 2" and maybe going as far as 8"
Drunken Hamster I was thinking that to, slight sideways hold.
Yalls attention and comment to gun safety is outstanding.
"The cans, the cans, he's shooting at the cans" ....Steve Martin in "The Jerk" (1979).
The grip that Chiappa wants you to use is very weird compared to the conventional weaver grip. With your left hand, wrap your thumb down behind your right joint for your thumb on your right hand. That way you avoid getting caught by getting cut or burned.
Thanks for the video! I always appriciate these! I'm actually seriously considering picking up the Chiappa Rhino 200DS, the small compact version.
That's how I was taught Wheelgun shooting
The look on your face when you spilled the ammo.....priceless lol
Still really do admire and value the man that leaves the little bloopers in the final real, respect for the honesty mate. Great video mate.
Just curious if you have heard of or fired the Laugo Arms new Alien?
Got stupid there in the moment of passion. My go to saying of 2015! Thank you for all the entertaining and insightful videos Jerry! You are next to the word AWESOME in my dictionary!
As I understand it, the low barrel is to reduce muzzle rise. Any comments on that?
Seth Jensen I have the 4" rhino. Yes it does reduce recoil impulse by about 40%. Shooting 38 special feels like you are shooting a .22, shooting .357 magnum feels like shooting 38 special, fwiw. I like it and carry mine alot as my self defene edc.
Derp.
If he was just fast, he would be amazing. If he was just accurate, he would be scary. The fact that he is THAT fast and THAT accurate puts him on another level. All hail the great Jerry Miculek!
He shoots better than me upside down with his pinky finger.
Awesome video as always Jerry! The slow mo is really cool! You're the man!
Not too bad, not too bad
A bit of secret Chiappa love talk there.
You seem like such a nice guy, makes listening to your reviews that much better.
I own a rhino 200ds for concealed carry. Took a while to get used to but I do like it, especially for .357 loads. I can't see the point of the larger models since recoil is pretty manageable in the larger standard revolvers. I do have some concerns about long term reliability since the mechanism is not tried and true like other revolvers. Any gunsmiths or engineers out there have the same concerns? Thanks.
One thing about carrying the Rhino as far as cc--The trigger pull is so heavy that that gun would NEVER be in danger of an accidental discharge! You'd have to attach it to a team of horses to make it fire. :D
Yes, I have no worries about accidental discharge. The leather OWB hoster that came with the gun is pretty good. Nice concealment under a polo shirt.
Hi Hugo, I have LOT of concerns about this revolver, ever since I got it and found that I couldn't fire it single action because I can't even begin to cock the lever! I can hardly pull the trigger and have decided that the trigger pull on my gun has got to be about 35 lb. Chiappa said it was fine like it was and sent the gun back to us after they checked it out. I don't believe it is right. They don't have very good "bedside manner" in their customer service department, IOO. I have a snubby. When I was at a gun shop, I knew the false hammer was real hard to cock, but I could pull the trigger without too much problem.
I am sorry I got this gun. And I'm not sorry. Depends upon what day it is.
It surely does keep the recoil down and mine is a snubby and I'm a little old lady.
If nothing else, we can think of ourselves as daring pioneers.....
*****
You definitely need strong hands to use this gun. I only fire it single action at the range. For carry purposes, the heavy trigger pull is fine by me. If you are concerned, maybe you can have a good gunsmith do an action job and lighten the trigger pull for you. I'm not sure how many gunsmiths work on rhinos but maybe Chiappa can recommend someone. Good luck!
HugoStiglitz Thanks for the good wishes with the Rhino. Many gunsmiths won't touch this revolver. Chiappa said that if the trigger pull is lightened, then you would need to use rounds with light primers, or you'll get misfires. I wish I'd known all of this before buying my Rhino. I'll still play with it at the range. I won't be shooting it upside down with my little finger, though. LOL!
I like how you always do the replay of the shots at the end. Thanks for another great video!
Holy fuck and I thought I was a good shot. This old guy is incredible
+Rusty Shackleford
See the size of his hands and forearms? He'd crush my hand in a grip contest. Yeah. He's a space alien.
+Rusty Shackleford He is the sewing machine of shooters.
you see this video...kind of older gentleman...talks kind of with a drawl, shifts his weight around a lot...and then he pulls out a gun and goes pew-pew-pew and it's just unbelievable.
Rusty Shackleford that's Jerry man. He's always in his prime.
I love your personality , so kind and knowledgeable
*bullets fall*
this guy is officially my new hero! =D
Lotta respect for you Jerry!
You'd think they could fashion some type of gas deflector to keep your piggies safe.
I own two of these bad boys, you got to hold them thumb over thumb at it'll never get ya. The design automatically puts your hands in the proper position.
Do you own 4 or 6 in? I'm thinking about picking 1 up
its called a Coonan
Dang, my real time speed is not as fast as your speed in slow motion. Also, the way you keep it real and unpolished gets my thumbs up every time. Very entertaining. Looking forward to the Tavor, I've been waiting for quite a while for one my local gun store has on "order." I wanna see what you do with it to see it's full potential. Thanks!
"What can I say I'm human." Yeah, sure you are *wink*
One of the more entertaining videos from Jerry!
That man can shoot👍🏼
He's so much fun - like this guy :)
He’s the best shooter I’ve ever seen.
Your videos are always fun to watch Jerry!! Keep them coming...
You know, it does take a humble person to say Yup I make a mistake, when you make mention of the position of your thumb to close to the drum and the fire... thank you very much!
It's great to see someone who spends so much time shooting, competing, etc, can still get such a laugh out of blowing up a can of corn!
Where is +TheYankeeMarshall ?
It's laundry day, he's washing his lingerie.
+IndicacannaJones I can guarantee you theyankeemarshal would think that's hilarious
I know this man has more rounds down range than I've seen in my life but I continue to be amazed at his absolute trigger and muzzle control while doing other tasks
Hitting stuff is second, shooting fast is third...safety is ALWAYS first.
I started out shooting .22 rifles and if you made just a slight mistake you'd be on air-rifles for a week. Screw up with an air-rifle and you'd be tossing darts at a dartboard for a week...screw that up and you wouldn't get near an official gun club (which is the only way to get licensed in my country)
I'm proud to say that I've never had an AD and I graduated to long range shooting (100 and 200 meter, 6.5mm or .308/7.62mm NATO) in no time :-)
I dont understand why some people voted down this video.
+Delbert McCord - Then you sir, don't understand people. For every 10 good people, there's that 1 person that enjoys getting on everyone's nerves and needs a good ass kicking.
You may be correct, if that is true there life must be miserable. "If you cant say anything nice don't say anything at all" (must be why I am so quiet)
Very true statement
"If you want to test a man's character...give him power"
Barack who?
This is one of my favorite Reviews ever
I hate corn and shaving cream to....great video
I live in haughton la. I grew up shooting and i hope that one day I get the honor of shaking your hand. You are the best there is and i really enjoy the videos thank you for your contribution to the shooting world. I wish i could see your gun safe lol
Nobody seems to get the point of this gun. Putting the barrel low in the frame like that, brings it down closer to being inline with your arm, which will reduce muzzle flip up. Muzzle flip is caused by the barrel being higher than the your hand, or than your shoulder in the case of rifles. This idea should work.
+UNITED POLICE STATES OF AMERICA IT does work and it works very well. Although I can understand people who are used to 1911 or S&Ws not liking it initially, it really does grow on you.
Why do you say that nobody gets it, I think most people understand the physics behind the lower recoil.
Its basic principle of leverage
👍 I don’t think it would matter much whatever weapon Sir Jerry was holding. He’s just awesome!
We all’ve been stupid in a moment of passion... 😉
Absolute living legend my friend... And I like how u leave your mistakes in...and I stress your mistakes..!!!!. You know wat I mean your vids are a good and recommended watch ..👍
