I think I'm gonna take the leap, I'm grabbing that airbrush-comp.
Thank you for finding this gem and bringing it to us.
@@emperorhadrian6011 yeah let's go! Good luck, have fun and let me know how it went.
I’m gonna go with dioramas. You inspired me, man! And it’s currently going so well.
I’ve been loving the channel so far. Your videos are so informative and interesting which helps them stick out, and I really enjoy it!
I took the leap with airbrushing as well. Nothing went according to plan, but there was so much I learned in terms of processes.
@@bruddahjoe yeah I saw it on your insta. First step is the most important one. Keep at it :) I will too.
Bro the quality of your videos are unmatched. You definitely deserve more recognition for your hard work
Thanks my friend. I appreciate the sentiment. We'll get there eventually :)
There's nothing as satisfying as peeling away masking tape... Its like unwrapping a gift.
That is so true haha
Your unmasking excitement has the same feel for me when I did my first camo paint scheme.
Best feeling :D
I have been in the gunpla hobby for quite some time now and lately ive been really looking into painting, specifically airbrushing. This is the one video that convinced me to try it. Thank you.
It took me quite a while to start painting my kits as well. Up until that point I've only been a snap builder and tried spray cans just once. Airbrushing is so much fun. Good luck with your painting journey :)
When I first started building gunpla a few months back a friend asked if I would customize and I said nah too much effort but here I am with paint, thinner and a airbrush/compressor. I’m just going to start simple and do the inverse colours of the tallgeese mg that I’m building
That's great man! Taking it one step further is always so rewarding. Have fun with the paint job!
I wasn't expecting such an inspirational intro holy moly
Happy you like it :)
ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE
Thanks!
Thank you very much for this video! Not only is it beautifully produced and thought provoking, but seeing and hearing you describe your experience with this airbrush is worth more than the "pro" users' reviews. Danke!
Hi Tina, thank you for that nice comment :) Did you by any chance decide to get a cordless airbrush?
@@GiantRobolove Yes, I was concerned that it would be a complete waste of money, but now I know it will be great!
That's great. What are you planning on using it on?
It came out AMAZING 👏!! Excited to see more of this down the road!
Thanks! I'm already planning out the diorama for this kit. Stay tuned :)
Well done, man! What a great feeling it is when you try something new and it works. Inspiring words, would love to see more people actually painting their kits, because it looks SO GOOD.
Hey thanks! Yes, definitely a great feeling. And I've just scratched the surface, can't wait to try it on terrain and diorama stuff.
i wouldn't left a kit unpainted unless i don't have mood to finish to begin with, because painting does elevate a kit finishes to some extend where original plastic look more like a toy to me than a finish piece, from my older days, there's isn't content like youtube because that doesn't exist yet, so all the trial and error is on my own alone, and i get massive satisfaction when finishing a kit
Word! I think from now on, there is no way that I won't paint a kit. It's just like you said, it's just so satisfying. Since when have you been building? Thanks for watching!

Hey, nice seeing you here :) And also thanks for those kind words. I hope you are feeling better and life treats you well again. Looking forward to your content :)
This video was exactly what I needed to try out airbrushing!
Nice, happy that I was able to give you that push :) Have fun experimenting!
I'm so happy I found your channel man, you have hands down the best gunpla channel on yt
Haha thank you so much. Those are big words, considering there are so many awesome creators out there.
This is insanely well made! Holy heck did you progress so much in so many aspects! Keep at it :D
Hey cae, thanks for stopping by :) and much thanks for the love
Good video mate! Hopefully this will encourage more builders to take the leap!
Thanks a bunch. Yeah, taking that step was the best decision. I take it you already have airbrush experience?
Very nice work! The dual color scheme is awesome. And your videomaking is professional! Impressive!
Thanks Natale!
that looks killer! i'm a huge fan of the grey, blue combo.
Thanks! Yeah, I still like looking at the Kaempfer from time to time...just such a wonderful design overall 😁
hands down the best and Highest quality gunpla videos on youtube. ive been waiting for another video and damn does it deliver
Thanks bro! Let's keep on going!
@@GiantRobolove I'd Love to! Eagerly awaiting the next one!
Inspiring. I’m gonna do this!
Thank you! Good luck with your journey :)
This is awesome. I am definitely buying one of these cordless models, I have been on the fence but after seeing this it looks totally worth it. Great job friend!
Hey that's great to hear. Any idea of which kit you're going to use it first on?
That looks so great!! Congrats on this project :D -- I had a huge grin on my face when you removed the masking!
Haha yes, I will never not love that moment of unmasking :) Thanks so much for watching!
one of my favorite gunpla youtubers!
Man, awesome video! Been holding off in trying airbrushing myself but this might just be what pushes me over the edge :)
Thanks Anthony! Go for it! I can't stress enough how awesome it felt when everything came together. I'll never not airbrush a kit from now on 😂
OMG, this is exactly what I was looking for
Enyjoy the painting journey :)
That's a really clean video. Kudos
Thanks, happy you enjoyed it :)
I started working on the exact same kampfer kit last night, scribing etc, and hoping to brush paint it for the first time. But maybe I'll go down this route sometime soon too, since I don't have the space for an airbrush either.
Yow dude this video is the last push I was looking for before trying Airbrush. This really took away all my doubts and fear was replaced by excitement great vid.
I'm happy to hear! Good luck with your airbrush journey and thanks a lot for watching :)
this video means so much to me!
I'm happy it does!
OH YEAH! That blue is gorgeous, love the video man. Nice to hear other people speaking their minds about what we're all thinking on the inside. Especially artists, we all have that "Oh no this is terrible" moment, but 90% of the time if you push through it you get rewarded in many ways. My old painting teacher used to say "if it sucks it sucks, but isn't it fun to try" haha she was right
It definitely is a fun journey, paved with doubts and second thoughts here and there. But like you said, just stick to it, trust the process and in the end all is going to be good :)
The production value of this video is insane! And so are your motivational speaking skills. After so many years of fear, all it takes is this video and your amazing speech to make me consider trying out airbrushing. Thank you
What a nice compliment. I do hope that you pick up airbrushing :)
Dood. This was one of the best videos I have ever seen. Your voiceover and video was awesome. And when I say voiceover I mean the words as well 😊
Those are very humbling words. Thank you very much :)
Good job bro. Keep it up 😄
Thanks man!
Coming here looking for some TED Talk and YES it Works. Thanks for Sharing. I will keep building and getting better one kit at the time. Cheers.
Same. One kit at a time 💪 thanks for watching!
Excuse my French but that’s fucking amazing. Well done brother, you give me hope.
😅 Thanks my friend!
It's a nice custom color 👍
The setting scene of the filming equipment was also interesting :)
Thank you :) I was so close to even adding a third, minor color 😅
your video was very helpfull thank you
bro is criminally undersubbed, quality of your vids are insane bro, new sub cant wait to see more😁
Thanks bro, it will come with time. Welcome on board! 😁
I am also just getting into Gunpla builds and was thinking of getting one of these type of airbrushers. Seeing the results from your video looks fantastic
Nice, welcome to the world of Gunpla. Which kit(s) did you get? I just recently finished painting my second kit with this airbrush and I'm still very happy that I decided to take that step.
Great video, very inspiring and honest!
My plan is to get an airbrush sometime soon, but I've been fearing the results as I'm not really that creative. This video though, gives some confidence beforehand, so keep up the good work! 🤩
Thank you for your kind words. Good luck with your journey, you can always go with the official colors. Nothing wrong with that. I'd love to know how it went.
Nice!!
Thanks!
nice custom for first time bro...keep it up!
Thanks man. I'll do my best.
Just saw your videos up from the algorithm and I'm so happy it did! This makes me feel a little more confident trying airbrush now. Thank you so much for making it feel so much simpler😊
Thank you so much for watching. Nowadays it seems to hard to get exposure on this plattform. So I'm very happy that you decided to click the thumbnail :) Which kit are you going to airbrush?
@@GiantRobolove currently I'm torn between going big with a master grade GP01, or testing it on a custom color HG Maganac. I'm planning on sharing this and a couple others around my New England community to help share some other tips as well from your videos
Maybe go with the HG first just for practice and then go big? MG has so many parts. I'm currently painting a MG Unicorn and it just won't end 😅
You're a cool guy, happy to share this great hobby with you.
I've build several Gundams so far and I'm almost ready to try airbrushing too. Cheers!
Thanks! Yeah go for it! It will take your kits to a whole new level :)
Preeeeeetty. Holy cow that looks good
Thank you :)
That glossy look is insanely good on camera! Massive improvement on an already boss kit
Yeah, I love the Kaempfer and looking at it with the gloss finish always gives me joy. Thanks for watching!
I learned most of what I know about airbrushing from Barbatos as well. He has a really good channel.
Definitely. It's one of the more technical channels out there, but a great source of knowledge and information.
What the hell.
Came for an airbrush video.
Left with inspiration to actually start all the 'First Steps' i promised myself my entire life.
Thanks my friend.
Haha nice. What would that be? 😁
Starting to repeat myself, but great video as always. Nice to see you and hope you're well.
Always appreciated, doesn't get old :) I'm all good, how about you guys?
@@GiantRobolove Glad to hear that. We're fine. Business as usual.
I NEED THIS! I needed to paint my robot spirits figures for a while now and this thing is a godsend.
Haha yeah, the cordless airbrush is really easy to work with. Happy painting and thanks for watching!
Nice paint job! Next up try removing the seamlines before painting 👍
Thank you my friend!
Hello i just wanted to say thank you this video inspired me. I've had a kit for the longest time to scared to do it b/c I want to do it right plus it's a expensive kit. So I've ordered the airbrush kit about to learn how to mix paints. Thank you so much love the videos keep it up.
Hey, that is great to hear. Wish you all the best with the airbrush. Let me know how it goes :) IF you feel insecure, you can always try on spare parts or plastic spoons. And also thanks a bunch for the kind words.
Vary inspirational thanks i have a compressor airbrush that i gave up on after one attempt. I think ill pick up one of these USBs and give it a shot.
Thank you :) How come you gave up? I was toying with the idea of getting a full fledged setup.
Thats insane bro, i never do some airbrush painting but after see your video i think i need to do airbrush, thanks for motivation.
Yes please try it out. It does so much for your kits. I just love the smooth paint finish. Thanks for checking out my video :)
Dude, that’s a very good first airbrushing job. Wow.
I’m also an airbrush beginner and it’s actually really easy for the most part. There is definitely hard stuff to master but just laying down base coats is very easy and fun and looks so much better than trying to brush paint a large flat area.
You did a very good job masking too. That is the hard part that sucks to do imo lol.
Barbatos Rex also has a great video on using nail buffing pads and glass nail files to make nih removal very easy. It’s what I do and I super recommend it. Cheap and easy and fast and great results.
Haha yeah tell me about it. Depending on the size of the pieces, the masking can get real finicky. But it's all a learning process, I enjoy it :) also thanks for the heads up, I'll check out that barbatos video 👍
I was the reverse of you, I started with airbrushing first, now I'm moving onto hand painting details and weathering, going to try scribing and pla plate next! watching your excitement when you first removed your masking tape after painting got me so hyped, I have to paint something today lol! love your channel!
Thanks a lot, trying out new stuff is really rewarding, no matter the outcome. With each build something new, that's the goal :) good luck with the hand painting!
Great video. It feels great finding someone on a journey too because I just started too. We’re but a few months apart
Thanks! That is so great to hear, which kit did you start with? And of course: enjoy the journey!
I love it, I too am hesitant to buy 1 cuz I really want to paint kits but now, I think I will buy one someday I will finish my Backlog
That is great to hear. All the best with your painting endeavors! Thanks for watching :)
Thank you very much for this. I wondered about these but my wife is ok with my hobby too, until it becomes too costly. That is my fear for trying new stuff is cost with the worry of it not working out. This gave me the knowledge to help this along. Im ordering one now to give it a shot.
Yeah, maintaining a hobby gets even harder when kids come into play. Then of course family should be number one priority. But still, it's great to hear that you are making the choice. I hope it works out for you :)
Well you've achieved your goal, you've inspired me to pick up airbrushing. I've always wondered what the portable ones are like.
Hell yeah. What kit are you going to paint?
@@GiantRobolove I've got a entry grade Rx 78-2 spare that I could use for practice, but after that I've got 2 HG kyoukai senki kits which might look lovely being painted
@@SuperBadAirsoft that sounds like a plan. Tell me how it went.
sieht wirklich sehr gut aus
Herzlichen Dank :)
I'm sure many others feel/felt like you when taking that first step. Once I did I was convinced my first few painted kits would be trash but since I put in the work to research before jumping in, every kit has just looked fantastic. It's amazing how much of a difference it makes, even if you just paint the standard colors instead of customs. You don't realize it until you try just how easy it is and how fulfilling it is.
True words! Looking forward to paint more kits. Thanks for checking out my video 👍
Planning on doing my first airbrush custom for a Gunpla meet up next week and unironically, it is also a Kampfer. 😊
Hey that sounds awesome. Wish you all the fun at the meet up :)
Great work! I'm going to look into this specific air brush. Did you do any sort of top coat before putting the water slide decals on?
Your encouragement and uplifting attitude is as amazing as your content btw :D
Nope, no coating was used either before or after applying the decals. Though I admit, I should have used a Top Coat after applying the decals. But at that time I was unsure which one to use, because I didn't want to ruin the shiny look.
Thanks for watching and that nice compliment :)
If it works for Gunpla, I'll get this airbrush for my minis. Seems like a good introduction to airbrushing.
Then I'll think on getting a bigger one after I move (also live in a small apartment)
It depends on what kind of colors you use. I have trouble making the airbrush work with Vallejo colors. Also, I can't tell you if Citadel colors work with that particular model. I have friends who use a different model of the airbrush and they have no problem with Vallejo colors. Please be aware of that before buying.
@@GiantRobolove IIRC these brands have airbrush paints. There's also airbrush thinner so I have options.
I've also seen other mini painters using these airbrush, so is a safe investment anyways. Loos like a great budget option to get started in airbrushing.
Yes definitely. It's also so quick to set up and fast to clean.
ive been terrified to paint my gunpla as well..
Honestly I just snap what pieces I want to paint from the runner, sand the nub marks, and go outside and hit them with spray paint. They come out good, especially MGs.
Yeah I used to do that as well. The spray cans are a quick means of adding colors to the kit without too much hassle. After trying the airbrush, I have to say that I like the control I have over how much paint I want to use. It's a bit more refined.
Thanks for this video. I got an expensive iwata brush and bought like $1000 in paints that have been just sitting here next to me for about 2 months now. First I made it about not wanting to disassemble my gunpla.. putting it off as "troublesome", but the other day I realized the real reason I haven't started was simply the fact that despite how much research I've done, I'm nervous and overwhelmed at the idea of trying to airbrush. I'm petrified that I'm going to ruin my gunpla.. there's so much airbrushing information I've consumed and in my mind I've built it up to being more complex than it probably is (especially since I have a really extensive art background). Seeing you jump in after having similar reservations has REALLY motivated me. Your kit came out great, looking forward to the follow up and how the diorama turns out. Awesome stuff
I totally feel you. One thing that I might help is to get a new (yes, particular new) kit that isn't as expensive. This Kaempfer that I got was just about 20 bucks. Makes it easier to lift the pressure off you. I have the RG Sazabi in my backlog that's sitting on the shelf for over two years now, because I want it to be perfect when I build it. I would never get the idea to take this as the first kit to test the airbrush on. Just get a kit that you're not too emotionally attached to and go from there 👍
@@GiantRobolove Cant recommend this enough, I only paintbrush so far but started on Entry Grades
You can do it!
Remember you always test out your mix and spray on paper towels first, so you know what is going to come out when you point it at your Gunpla.
Also, try buying some First Grade models. They’re like $5 USD. Super cheap and old and perfect for testing and experimenting.
@@mathieuaf25 from now on out I will airbrush all my kits. No turning back haha
I really like the results of your painting. I want to ask, did you use any primer before painting?
Thank you! Yes, the gray color that you can see is the primer. Mr. Surfacer 1200. It's my go to primer for all the kits.
Hello, could you make a stepped video after building the kit such as, where to begin for panel lining, coating, air brushing (and If there are more steps etc...) Thanks !
There will be more build videos in the future. I will make sure to go more into details. Thanks for watching!
@@GiantRobolove thanks 🙏
Nice seeing another German builder ... feel like we are a rare breed with how inaccessible Gunpla is here :')
Welcome to the world of airbrushing. It's completely worth it. Have fun and just let your creativity flow. And if your going to continue to shoot lacquer get a booth.
Thank you! Yes, it feels really nice. I'm already excited to try a non metallic color. And yeah, the booth is already on my to-buy list. You don't happen to have a recommendation?
@@GiantRobolove I've done the diy thing for so long I'm in the same boat as you. I've been looking myself for a booth as well as a new desk setup. I have yet to come across something that works for me. I know there are some decent ones on eBay and Amazon but they look pretty small. I think your best bet is to have one fabricated if you can. Or look at the arttystation spray booth. Thats probably what I will go with in the end.
That Arttystation booth is looking fine. Will be hard to get my hands on it here in Europe though. But thanks for the tip. I'll keep an eye out.
Bruh wtf and thats from a portable air brush and first timet. Damn you're good.
Haha yeah, ikr! The quality is so nice. No need for the full fledged airbrush for now. And thanks for the compliment 🙏
English speaker that speaks German? Or a German speaker that do GUNPLA in English?
You got a subscriber! Geht weiter! Ja wohl!
Haha, the latter one 😄 thanks for watching and your support 🙏
I've just ordered this airbrush set after seeing this. I'll be using Tamiya Acrylics though, so I think I'll have to look up my own tutorials to find the thinning ratio I'll need. I'm guessing I need to buy a respirator mask and make a little cardboard setup to spray into now...?
Hey that's great to hear. So will you be using that for the Kaempfer? Unfortunately I can't give you a fool proof thinning ratio. However, I do know that the Tamiya won't need as much thinner as the Mr. Color lacquer paints. Maybe this can help you as a starting point: when I was painting the diorama base for my newest build, I used Tamiya color. I poured the color directly into the paint container of the airbrush and added just a couple drops of thinner into it. That worked out.
I do however plan to dive deeper into the Tamiya color so that in the future I can give an elaborate answer to that question. Good luck and have fun with your build :)
@@GiantRobolove Thank you very much good sir!
Yeah, I'll be using it on the Kämpfer first, going to paint it white after I've finished scribing new panel lines. Then make the weapons/accessories and thrusters gold. I understand neither of these are the easiest to get right so I have my work cut out for me 😎
White/gold is a rad color scheme, very heroic. Good luck with build :)
To everyone wanting to get into airbrushing the hardest 3 parts (all require just a little reading/watchin videos) 1. Cleaning airbrush 2. Mixing ratio (not as hard as it sounds) 3. Where/how to setup
Word!
This was the push I needed to get an airbrush. I’ve only ever used Gundam markers and brush/sponge work with mr. hobby paints/thinner and it’s never come out exactly how I wanted. But airbrushing always seemed so daunting to me- partially because from what I could tell, I had to drop 250-400 or more on a compressor, airbrush gun/accessories, cables and cleaning equipment/solutions. As well as ruining kits on bad painting. But- knowing that I can just get like a 60-100 dollar setup and have it come out like that? That’s enough for me to go for it even if it takes a couple tries to get there(lord knows I have the backlog for it 🤣), that’s always what I wanted my kits to look more like.
Anyways, thanks man! You definitely got a new subscriber today.
Ikr! I was feeling the same way! Even now after a couple of months, I still won't upgrade to a full airbrush setup. I'm still so happy with this one. So, which kit are you going to choose first?
Thanks for your support, I appreciate it a lot :)
@@GiantRobolove Good question! I have a couple high grades that I would like to mess with. I really want to do a metallic color scheme on Victory Gundam. Nice metallic blues and golds to make it pop.
After a while, I’d love to paint my MG Sinanju with an airbrush. I am currently doing a reverse wash with rattlecans and Gundam markers to get the desired “sleeves” look, but an airbrush would make it easier.
That sounds like an awesome color scheme. Anything silver or gold is top tier.
Sinanju is such a desirable kit, I love its design. Too bad the RG is such a mess. Yeah, I bet it takes a lot of time, since the designs are so finnicky. But I bet the result looks great.
Agreed! Metallics and a lot of Gundams just fit. I really only like matte for grunt suits. I love the way the metallic blue came out on this Kampfer!
Kampfer is my fav
Oh yeah!
@@GiantRobolove i want to try the weathering with real touch marker. Can u make a vid abt it? I mean its only the marker without any else again
I mentioned this technique a couple of times in my past videos. Check this out for example:
th-cam.com/video/GTSs477Ba0U/w-d-xo.html
Maybe this helps.
Nice video bro. What kind of paper tape is that?
Thanks! You mean the yellow one? It's masking tape by Tamiya.
Hi, I am your new follower :) I also have a portable airbrush at home, tried it a few times w/o priming the parts but I sanded them thoroughly, it was a good result but I needed to redo them.
My question is, what type of paints are you using? I am currently using Acrylics from Tamiya and Ammo by Mig. I just recently purchased an airbrush type primer from Vallejo, do you think I need to thin this?
Also, I have a small place, similar to yours, did you have any problem with the particles when airbrushing metallics? I don't have a spraybooth that's why I am hesitant in doing airbrushing again.
Hi Arthur, thank you for following :) I'm using Mr. Color colors. You can find the exact color code in the timestamp description. For priming I'm using Mr. Surfacer. The silver color that I'm hand painting in the video is a Tamiya acrylics color. But since it's metallic and has heaver pigments, it didn't work too well with the portable airbrush. I tried thinning it, but it turned out too thin. So I need more experimentation with that. Same goes for the Vallejo colors. I'm actually a huge fan of those colors, but I didn't manage to make them work the airbrush just yet. I will have to try that in the future.
Regarding the space: fortunately I have a balcony, so I was outside when spraying. It helps. I wouldn't use it inside though.
W man
Thanks!...I guess?
I've been looking into airbrushing for a while now and this seems like its the best bang for the buck for a beginner! its in my basket!
Yeah, definitely. A great way to dip your toes into new terrain without having to stretch the budget too much.
Hallo es ist mega
Hallo, danke :D
Airbrushing is my favorite part painting miniatures now.
It's so rewarding, right? :D
whats your camera rig youre using? i need something to mount my camera for an overhead POV.
Hey! Nice Video! You don't happen to attend Space Days 2022 do you?
Hi, thank you. I'm sorry, what is Space Days?
What camera equipment are you using to film? I took a trip to see your toy photography links and the quality is impeccable.
Hey, thanks for taking your time :) If you're talking about photos before 2017, then it was a Canon 5D MKIII with a 24-105mm lens. Now I'm using a Fuji XT-3.
@@GiantRobolove Nice! I have to upgrade my camera game. I run a Sony A6100 for filming and a Canon SL2 for shots. Not the best but good enough for now. Are you also recording with the Fuji?
Yeah don't worry about the camera. Your's is perfectly fine. If you feel the urge to upgrade, then I'd say go for some lighting rigs. Good lighting (apart from good audio) always makes the difference.
Yes, I'm using the Fuji to film as well.
@@GiantRobolove Some great advice! Can't wait to see what else you create!
Spray can lacquer never seems to not have a tacky quality. Does this air brushing finish feel pretty durable?
Are you saying your paints never dry completely? In regards to durability, it depends on the type of color that you are using. For instance, lacquer paints by Mr. Color are very durable, whereas acrylic paints by Tamiya tend to chip here and there. So I'd suggest you always seal them with Top Coat to protect them from any chipping damage.
What else will you airbrush in the future?
Hey, thx for watching! For my newest video I airbrushed a RG Eva-01. You're very much welcomed to check it out. After that I would like to try out how airbrushing goes along with weathering. I will be using an Ez8 for that I guess.
Ok I'm in, i need to try this in my life as well.
Wo hast du das Dingen denn bestellt?
Mag immer ungern mit dem Zoll dealen bei solchen Sachen ;)
Nice, let's go! In der Beschreibung findest du einen Amazonlink ;) die Farben kommen von o-gundam.de
Hey! I am looking at airbrushes and I don't want to break the bank. I'd love to hear if you are still using this one after a year? Also do you feel like you are having trouble without a spraybooth?
Hey, I'm still using it to this day. While I do feel the urge to get a "real" one some day, I'm still very happy with what I have. It gets the jobs done to a very satsifying result. In regards to that, I guess I should spend some money on a spray booth instead of a full fledged airbrush. It's not that I have any trouble without, I just feel safer I guess?
After you airbrushed, panel lined, and applied decals, could or should it be top coated to protect panel lines and the decals to be peeled or rubbed off? I know it sounds stupid because it would probably ruin the beautiful airbrush paint. An inspiring video you made btw. Well done.
Oh by all means, please seal the kit with Top Coat afterwards. It doesn't sound stupid at all. It's the correct way to proceed. Someone here in the comments said this as well. Thanks for watching :)
Didn’t expect you to respond this quick. Thank you! What kind of clear coat would you recommend to use on an already finish airbrushed gunpla like in this video that wouldn’t ruin the paint? I normally used matt or gloss on a regular out of the box model (I never paint my kits). Thanks again.
As long as the channel is still this small and I see new comments, I try to answer as much as I can :) since I used a glossy paint I would probably go with a semi gloss Top Coat. On a non painted kit I like to use matt Top Coat as well just like you. I actually like this matt look a lot.
What do you do if the air runs out?
Did you apply any coat of varnish? If so, when and which kind (gloss, flat matte)?
The kit in the video doesn't have any Top Coat. So what you see is just the pure metallic color. But I would suggest using a Top Coat at the very end. I guess for this one I'd use a gloss one.
I'm planning to air brush for the first time. Will this be enough for MG kits?
If I remember correctly, then roughly one hour of painting session drew abt one bar on the compressor. Of course it depends on how thick you're going to lay the color. But overall I would say yes, you can make it work.
@@GiantRobolove okay! many thanks :-)
I just got a comment down here from a fellow gunpla builder (FoxTrot8686 86) who owned some of those portable USB airbrushes. And they said that the compressor overheated because they used it too long without break. So maybe if you try it (esp. because MG parts are bigger), work in sessions ;)
i need one
Go for it!
@@GiantRobolove i got one.
i do not do a whole lot of gunpla but makes painting 40k mini easy..
Haha awesome! What fraction do you play? I recently got an army of Tau as a birthday present and already started painting them.
