This is an insight into the past, what life was like 180 Million Years Ago even before many of the most famous land-dwelling Dinosaurs ever existed.

    My older brother found a huge two foot snail in a chalk quarry, not sure where in England as I was just a child in the 1970’s but I remember my parents & I driving a long way to pick it up. My brother who taught geology donated it to the natural history museum in London..I often wonder if it is still on display there. You have a wonderful channel, so very interesting & you clearly both know your stuff. I found your channel by chance & I’ve subbed, looking forward to looking through all your videos 👍😎⭐️⭐️⭐️

    How much of the shore line do you think has eroded and fallen away over the years?

    • @YorkshireFossils
      @YorkshireFossils  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It’s constantly eroding, and varies from place to place, so it’s tricky to measure/give a numerical value

    Just wondering about some info on buying and having shipped to Australia….I want to buy from you two, for my collection, I have dreams of creating a feature wall with some fossils placed into it so it looks like a massive fossil bed, I want thin feature pieces, so the weight of the package is not going to be outrageous, is this something you’d be interested and willing to do ?… oh and do you ever take people out hunting on tours, I’d be keen on going to hunt with guidance,

    • @jimbracknell5648
      @jimbracknell5648 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A crinoid is a relative of starfish and urchins. There are still crinoids in the deep oceans today (often called sea-lillies, which is a misnomer as they are not plants, but animals.)

    So cool! Is this from a mass die off or something like that? Wonder what cold have caused so many to fossilize in one spot (same with the belemnites)
