Weather, weeds, worry,, bugs, diseases, fungus and soil conditions. I jumped and planted corn got 2.5 inches rain right after. Prayed and got a perfect stand. I thank God for work and widom. Keep up the "good" work of God. May God help your crops and wait.
Back in the Day when I farmed, I always planted according to the optimum soil temperature for optimum germination of what ever crop I was planting. Over the years I saw this to be far better than relying on air temperature and the weather as my neighbors did.
If a load (each load is graded separately) has low quality then it goes to oil stock (peanut oil for cooking). High quality is shelled and then sold and sold to buyers such as M&M-Mars, or in some cases sold as seed stock. I don’t know where my personal crop goes as there is at least 2 middle men between me and them & 4-5 middle men between me and you (1.peanut buyer, 2. Peanut sheller, 3. M&M, 4. Distributor, 5. Store that sells to public)
Here in North Florida a lot of the peanut farmers roll their fields before planting peanuts and corn. I know you have a different soil type but that might would break up those clods. Enjoy watching your videos.
There was much discussion on that with crop consultant & seed rep. Since there was still seeds from the original planting emerging we used that same variety. They believe there will be a week difference in maturity.
Ever thought of trying a case planter? Very good placement and the best closing system ive ever seen. The speed units ive seen plant over 99.5 percent constant as fast as 12 mph
Such a pity to see your soybean emergence look like that. Any ideas on why that happened? Also, do you plant peanuts in 36" rows? Hardly anything like that up here in the Midwest, and the closest you'd get to that is someone's sweet corn patch
Almost everything down south is on 36” rows. We had a heavy rain after I planted the soybeans followed by a cool snap. Consultant said the rain pushed the seeds down deeper in the sand. The clay areas of the field came up nearly perfect.
@@PatrickShivers I planted 140 acres 2 years ago and only harvested 80 acres. I don’t know what the solution is, only thing that seems to work is lead and it gets old farming all day and shooting all night
Patrick I myself have realized the lord was answering my prayers a lot of times lol! All I could do after that is thank him for the knowledge and the answers to our prayers he is my all and all!
I do the exact same prayer every morning. For him to give me the guidance on the problems that come up. God bless you and your family.
Great words Patrick. As my father used to say,"Do it right or do it again."

That wisdom sermon hurts but is the truth. A lot of people think farming is so simple. GOD BLESS
Great video Patrick I hope you can get done planting shortly keep up the good work!
How’s your sweet corn looking?

Right brain is rocking. go Patrick.
Best of luck, hope everything works out for you and you get a record crop....Tom
Thanks Tom
Thanks for sharing Patrick. Love those peanuts. Do you have any idea what your crop goes to? Peanut butter, bagged nuts, etc.?

My brother-in-law runs a clod buster on his red dirt. Works great. I got some older videos of me running it. I don’t have one.
How will the maturity of the drilled soybeans match the maturity of the row planted beans at harvest time. Enjoyed the sunset shots.

Don’t see anyone using Case planters around here. The crustbuster planter is gaining popularity.
The lord gave you everything you need to make your own wisdom just put it to it

I like your channel! What do you think caused the poor stand originally?
A heavy rain pushed the seeds deeper into the sand followed by a cool front
Howdy Patrick
Howdy Tug
Good luck with beans
Hello, Patrick!
One who dares...
First!😂 How difficult is it to remove the cotton disks when you get in cloddy ground?
Hope it works out for you
Thanks Rodger
Will you still be able to cultivate?
The field cultivator was ran just ahead of the planter to facilitate drying.
Did corn seed maggots make the bean skips
No. A little cool weather and a hard rain pushed them down deep in the sand. I still have some emerging after 2+ weeks
I have had to ditch soybeans here in east central ga. Deer pressure has become so bad it’s near impossible to grow profitable soybeans
We battle the deer pretty seriously here also. Not uncommon for them to eat $20,000 of beans on one farm.

@@oldriversfarm1609 exactly.
I saw some where maybe on triple R Farms they were spraying something on their soybeans to reduce the deer pressure on their soybeans.
