it's ridiculous how much this argument gets thrown out as a way to forgive less than acceptable quality and the industry keeps pumping out their BS. You sir, nailed it on the head
I also saw that a streamer and comic dubber I fallow called Delta225 is arguing that same thing saying that preschool shows don't need to be intelligent because they are made for toddlers. While I can see where he's coming from (of course critics shouldn't analysis an episode of a preschool show to an episode of Breaking Bad) but saying that a preschool show doesn't deserve to have any thought put into it is just wrong to be. Just because it's for toddlers doesn't mean it shouldn't be criticized for being brain dead. If you want an example of preschool shows that don't treat there audience like idiots look at Bluey, Authur, Word Girl, & the pre-Jhonna movie Veggie Tales episodes.
the main problem with modern kids shows is that they have terrible writing. I'd rather a kid be watching colors flash on a screen mindlessly than any kids show written by an art major.

Yeah
It's a shame that good kids shows like Thomas and Bob the Builder have been turned rotten and ruined
