Thanks for watching...till next time!!!
These 2 were amazing players and did so much for the sport. What they accomplished with the technology they had is amazing.
Absolutely spot on
Omg ..really? Lolo....
Jesus, this is 61 years old, the film quality is excellent.
Right, I thought so as well.
Pure golf. Talent unsurpassed by modern players. Imagine these guys with the equipment of today.
100% exactly my thoughts as well. Not sure if many current pros would manage the numbers they do with the equipment these guys used in their time.
@@SXBrosGolf they were pure strikers. Had to be with those blades. Also talk about the tech advantages of a. proV1 over those soft balata balls. It’s astounding they could score as well as they did.
@jamesnichols7693 agreed.... they were no doubt amazing.
Byron Nelson, Ben Hogan, Sam Snead, Bobby Locke, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Pryer
Just to name a few
I'd rather the guys today play with the old equipment - constant tech advance has made pro golf boring.
@poocrayon4588 It would be interesting to see a tournament where only old equipment is allowed.
Remarkable picture quality for 1963. I've seen World Series footage from 1978 which were much poorer quality.
Agreed......I was pleasantly surprised
Hard for us to compain about course conditions after watching this;)!
That is for sure
Why? Course is in fantastic shape?
Actually you right it is great club conditions
Jack must have doubled-crossed that tee-shot.
Most likely 😁😁😁
Those greens look super slow. Times have changed my friends.
100 % correct. Those greens look like normal club greens. Now days tournament greens are so quick it is not even funny
Sam knocks it to 4 feet and makes the birdie. Jack gets up and down from the trap for par. They were both amazing.
They were most definitely....... both legends of the game.
That green appears very, very small.
It does appear small
Snead was the greatest iron player there ever was, but he was mediocre with the putter. Nicklaus was probably the best putter of all of the big name golfers. It gave him a huge advantage.
Nicklaus was a great putter but Bobby Locke was probably the best that ever lived....... I remember Gary Player saying that Bobby Locke was the best putter
I wonder why no one tried to mimic his peculiar stroke.
Correct. Was an interesting stroke
@@Kaddywompous hurts your back
Agreed
Sam Snead is No.1 GOAT Wins
Jack is 2nd GOAT. Majors
Seve 3rd GOAT. World Tour Wins
Byron 4th. GOAT Most Consecutive & Year Wins
Gibson 5th GOAT World Record 55
Meow
Agreed...... Where would you place Tiger Woods? Also how about Gary Player and Bobby Locke
Amazing how scruffy PB was vs how manicured it is now
Tell me about it
Looked better back then - nowdays there's a sameness about the courses. Back then you had some rougher courses that were still high class and some manicured ones like Augusta - now they're all the same.
Some food for thought.....
Think this match was played early in '63, prior to the Masters.
I think so, not 100% sure
Nothing manicured about the bunker.
They just got on with it back then.
And the guys today complain about the bunker sand???
Exactly, players today love to complain
1663? It’s almost as old as St. Andrews.
Thank you for spotting that typo
Those traps!! And those GREENS!!
Yup vary different to now a days
This show is the reason I took up golf. Watched it every week.
That is awesome
I remember when I was a kid in the early 00s, Golf Channel would play episodes at like 6:30 in the morning. I would wake up for school earlier so that I could chill and watch this while swinging my little toy plastic clubs hahah
Those are the memories to cherish forever. Once golf is in the blood, one is hooked for life...
