I’ve been watching your videos and taking your tutelage to the course. Play the lie not the yardage, avoid trouble, a bogey is not bad etc. I hit 89 my last two rounds. You are an amazing instructor.
I didn't know that Jack Nicholson won 18 majors. I thought he starred in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest". I'm just poking fun at the comment (at 8:05) . Great video!
I've focused solely on course management these past couple weeks from binge watching your videos. No hero shots, and took my 3 wood and hybrid out of the bag. Had only broken 100 once in my life, and have now done it 4 times in a row. Appreciate the content playa and providing me the tools to love the game and be self taught 🤙
I highly appreciate that you don’t switch up your tips or message for each video, or chase “1 tip to fix everything” type videos. Every video drills in the consistency of great playas. Stoked every time a new video drops. Keep up the great content. Cheers.❤
“Who am I to give you these tips? Well I finished 4th in my club championships 3 times” has to be the best line ever in a TH-cam golf video. Congratulations🎉
Exactly as Matty says. Frustrated at losing balls off the tee and constantly droping and playing 3 I took my driver (And 60degree as well for that matter) out of my bag for a year and just focused on 6 iron and under. Practiced Driver only on the range. Started breaking 100 regularly using better strategies learned here. Slowly brought my driver back once I had a shot i could rely on with it. Have now broken 90 - 2 or 3 times this summer and there is still room for improvement. Thank you for bringing back the enjoyment.
Thank you! I've been digesting your videos and you're easy to follow Funny and entertaining as well As someone mentioned, not only golf lessons, but life lessons as well! 🙌 Kudos
I love what you are doing- taking the stigma away from playing smart. It's slowly helping me take my ego out of the game and being more realistic about what I actually can do. Thanks.
I loved the way your head dropped when you just missed your par putt with your 6 iron. I used to walk my dog around the course when I lived abroad just using an 8 iron. Opening the face out of bunkers and closing the face to get more distance. A lot of fun and gets you thinking differently. Great videos.
Matty boom boom, I love your vids as always. One thing I notice is how well you seem to always make good contact with the ball. Maybe you can do a vid on how we can get as consistent as you hitting the ball?
Playa! I broke 90 for the 1st time (87) been playing a year and a half. Thank u sir. I no longer go for the hero shot and top my 3 wood 40 yards. Just lay up to my confidentiality distances (120-150) with my Tokomo 301cb irons and boom on the green and 2 putt 😎. Feels good man
Take a practice swing swiping the grass. Notice the position of the mark in the grass...in relation to your feet. If it felt good, place the ball position just before the beginning of where the mark would be in your stance. Repeat the feel of that swing.
Broke 100 last Sunday- shaved 20 strokes off my game between play through 2 and 3- started playing at 8:10 am and finished at 6:00 with 54 holes for the day 😅
Shot 78 last week playing a baby draw off nearly every shot ,now I don’t know how to hit a draw and every ball this week has sliced. Even the driver is starting to slice which has never happened . Whata game ,whata playa .Keep up the good content broski❤
I love coming to the comments and hearing the whooshing sounds as The Baus’s linguistic gymnastics baffle those without the rhetorical acumen to recognize the lighthearted word play that is part and parcel to The Way of the Playa. 😂
I think I'm at the point of needing to get a lesson or two...or three or four playa. My biggest needs IMO.. 1. Driver - Striking - Consistency 2. Pitching the 80-50 yard shots 3. Course Management and Mental Game Just shot 84 (+14) today. Still looking to break 80 for the first time. Thank you for your awesome videos! You've helped me with keeping things simple within my swing and I can't wait to come back to tell you I broke 80 someday!
Yes to get into the 70s, i would suggest getting that driver to be playable so you can use it on around 5-8 holes. Pitching 50-80 will improve your driving and Vice versa. The pro will show you fundamentals of a pitch shot which will transfer to the entire swing. You’re on the right track. But have patience
Shot 41 points of 18 handicap today with a triple on the card 4 bogeys to start birdie on par 3 and that kicked me on pared the next 4 then the dreaded 7 1 par after and bogeyed my way in from there then need to work on the confidentially the games there just need to keep the head
Going low on chips has saved par for me more times than I can remember, ever since you taught me. I’m a 10 handicap, but I’ll be if I can’t chip like a BAUS these days
It looks you have the good turf there. Please play herr in west of Europe ( Netherlands ) for me and i don't know how it would work out because i tried this method today.. Half the baus
Matt I have the problem where I hit a great shot and then follow it up with a terrible shot..... I have a hard time stacking good shots, any advice? It seems to have come out of nowhere 🤷♂️
Change your wording. I hit great shots. You are finding ways to live up to the image you create of yourself in your mind. Your ego will continue to do that. Remove the idea of hitting a bad shot and when you do hit one, accept that everyone does and it’s part of the game. Perfection is impossible
Make sure to do the same preparation for each shot regardless of the outcome of the last shot. Remember to reset after each shot...thinking only of the current shot. Forget the past...avoid thinking about future shots. Clear your mind of unnecessary garbage. If you have to correct a swing issue with a swing thought...do it before you step up to the ball. Once you've stepped up to the ball...picture the shot successfully executed several times...then hit it!
Me at league last week: 7 iron tee shot... a little in the rough, but a nice shot overall. That's OK. This is the toughest hole on the course by handicap index. This was my plan. Then I go chunk, blade, bunker, green, putt putt putt putt.... for a 9.
Started the season as a 19 HCP, I’m down to 15 and my last two rounds have been 80 & 82 the way of the playa is real deal boyfriends. Driver went awry yesterday so the 5 wood was moneyski. Simply put, getting the ball in play to my free throw distance, hitting 60% Green in regulation close it out with aspirations of a 2 putt and you’ll see your score drop faster than a fat chick skating on thin ice
I noticed that you are changing your ball in the middle of the hole to putt with a black ball. Are you aware if playing in a match that that you have to play the hole with the same ball (unless you lose it) or you get penalized? ❤
Been using my 50 degree to pop onto the green up to 25 yds out recently, took my 54 and my 60 completely out of the discussion, greens got hit WAY more frequently. Still need to work on those low/medium irons- but I WILL break 95 this year! And I will get the hoes. Hope my girlfriend doesn’t mind.
Does Garry Playa when he says going low gets the hose? mean garden hose? Panty hose? Hoes for weeding , o's for the garden gate ? I'm at a loss, playa? I only need 3 of these tomorrow.
I’ve been watching your videos and taking your tutelage to the course. Play the lie not the yardage, avoid trouble, a bogey is not bad etc. I hit 89 my last two rounds. You are an amazing instructor.
Boom. Next step 83
Best golf channel on youtube - no technical swing advice, no BS - just good sensible thinking.
Exactly playa. Simple the best for the best
“I finished 4th in my club championship, three times”. LOL
😂😂😂😂😂
This gave me a great chuckle also :D
“Don’t be a dildo.”
Said with confidential like a Baus ! It's the attitude 😂😊
i don't get the joke! rip
His golf lessons are often life lessons. Well done my friend.
I didn't know that Jack Nicholson won 18 majors. I thought he starred in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest". I'm just poking fun at the comment (at 8:05) . Great video!
For instance, “go low to get the hoes”

Honestly golf as a sport is a pretty good analog for life in general.
Nothing is better than hearing him say “get confidential”

Broke 100 the first time last weekend, all by following your course management tips. You da man. Sincere thanks.
Just broke 90 for the first time with a score of 87 using your tips! Thank you so much and greetings from Finland🤩
Playa! 👍
“Who am I to give you these tips? Well I finished 4th in my club championships 3 times” has to be the best line ever in a TH-cam golf video.

"The designer of this course is the great Jack Nicholson." Man of many talents!
I was looking for this comment!
Thanks for all your content. I use your tips to guide me. Shot 89 other day. Using 5 iron off tee all day! Got frustrated losing balls with driver
Live it!! Irons keep the ball in play and that is a stroke saver in itself. Well done!!

Can't thank you enough for your videos. I am old now but consistently breaking 90. Lovely jubbly 😊
Best course management videos on you tube from Matt.
1:25 Speaking of chipping, I met a guy who used his 4 iron to get the hoes. Using it like a chipper or a lofted putter.
This guy makes the exact same video with the same advice over and over again.... But I can't stop watching it, and it's amazing.
I love what you are doing- taking the stigma away from playing smart. It's slowly helping me take my ego out of the game and being more realistic about what I actually can do. Thanks.
Mattie, love watching your practical, down-to-earth, instructional videos. Is there a reason you use black golf balls?
@golfsidekick your the man. Love your work
best golf creator out there instantly changed game playing for position instead of score
Thanks for all the great advice Matty. My game has improved dramatically using your tips. Also videos are so entertaining! Keep up the great work.
Don't be a finangleberry! Dude your videos are pure gold. Perfect amount of levity, humour, skill, knowledge and entertainment.
Early in your TH-cam career, I recommended that you read the book Radical Golf. Now I can tell that you did it. Keep making the free throws.
I did. I bought it while in the UK. I love the way that guy writes
Like your putts, your videos do not miss!
Been watching your videos for a few weeks now,and have managed to knock a mighty 6 shots off my score following your advice. You are the Bauws✌️

Such a relaxed stroke, doesn't look like you are trying hard at all, but the distances are admirable!

Take a practice swing swiping the grass. Notice the position of the mark in the grass...in relation to your feet. If it felt good, place the ball position just before the beginning of where the mark would be in your stance. Repeat the feel of that swing.
This guy has helped my game more than anyone. I don't know why he isn't the #1 instructor on TH-cam.
It's "confidential". Lol
"You can fit about 40 barbecues there" 8:20 Love that addition to the big, safe and conservative Texas analogy hahaha
this guy has me shooting in the 80's from the 90's
Where can I get the black putting ball that always goes in? I need one.

Can you make a video about how to transfert weight. Pressure shift, because i can shape the ball. I would like to learn how to hit farther.
What’s with switching to a black ball while putting?

The Red Tiger range finder is deeply discounted on amazon right now.
I’d buy 3 then. They’re good

About to play this on a loop as a podcast next time I play.
What kind of bird is that LOSING ITS MIND at 10:30 😂😂

Hey Boom Boom, my daughter is on the way to Thailand. What would an average cost per round be in US $?
$60
I shortened my driver shaft , given me so much more confidence
Did u add weight to the head?
@@mancingribut removed 3/4 inch do I need to add weight, also put a heavier grip

I'm not anti driver - I'm anti spending money on balls and wasting shots.
What was the name of the course again? Kah Rie Aya?
06:51 What's this word you keep using? "Confidence"? Never heard that used in any of your other videos 😉
Yes sir. In confidence means in a confidential way
Omg he actually said confidence 🤣
Been playing my Darth Faders so confidential lately

Jack Nicholson is a great course designer!
Why do you play a yellow ball tee to green, but play a black ball putting?
Why not
Because he is a baus.
Makes it easier to see
40 BBQs 😂 gold

Jack Nicholson 😂not Jack Nicklaus who starred in The Shining 😂
