ABOUT DANNY
-----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On TH-cam and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

This golf lesson provides a couple of wonderful drills to help you hit your driver straight. If you are a beginner golfer and are looking for some golf driver tips that are simple and easy to do then you are going to love this.
I will show you the golf swing slow motion so that you can see what you need to do to improve.
We look at 3 things:
1. How to stop slicing your driver
2. How to swing more in to out or how to swing more inside out
3, How to get the correct impact position with driver
and I hope to do all this with simple golf tips so you can create an effortless golf swing - กีฬา
So watched this three times this week.
Stepped into a greenside bunker today went through this process (without grounding club obviously 😊) and nonchalantly played a cracking bunker shot the rolled beautifully into the hole for a birdie 3.
Haven’t been that excited in sand since I was about 6!
Thanks Danny.
So awesome to hear
I took Danny's bunker technique to the golf course this past Monday and was two for two getting out of deep, soft bunkers on the first try. What a game-changer. Excellent video. Thanks, Danny!
So wonderful to hear Randy well done
One of the best coach to teach bunker shot👍
Glad you enjoyed it
This set up method is so thorough and coherent. Ball position is where I can go wrong and this is such a clarifying lesson. Thanks Danny
Glad it was helpful John, hope you are well
Danny‼️This video should have 4 million likes…it’s Brilliant, easy to understand. The rest will be practice. Thank you
Thanks so much, like you say it requires some practice but if you follow the steps you will be brilliant at bunkers

best video on sand play I have seen so far
Really kind thank you
Everyone always said open the face of the club. You answered the question I always had, how much? I never did the 45 degree left heel and point the club heel at the left toe. Wow! I can do this. I know I can. I was sort of OK in bunkers, but I was not getting lower like you described. All of this is repeatable that you instructed, not complicated at all, and produced good results. I had good results with your pitching video as well. Thank you so much.
Wonderful to hear Michael
Loved this as well. So easy to follow in concrete steps that I summarized to my wife right after watching, as she was watching her own golf video on her phone 😂. Thanks as always Danny!
Brilliant. Simple and COMPLETE. Well done.
Glad you liked it!
I’ve watched dozens of bunker videos and had at least 20 lessons with instructors. By far the best explanation on bunker play I have found. Each piece of this setup is easy to understand. The distance to the ball is a tip I have never heard before.
I tried it at our deep practice bunker with various sand depths and it worked every time- even with wet compact sand.
Simply amazing.
That’s wonderful to hear
Brilliant Danny most of the bunker videos I’ve seen whose bunkers with shallow lips which doesn’t help much when faced with something like the one you were in.Thank you.
Pleasure Pat
Absolutely terrific bunker tutorial! Bunkers are my nemesis..finally something that seems understandable. Particularly the tempo of the arced swing. Thank you.
Pleasure, love to hear how you get on
Can’t wait to try this new method🙏
Great drills Danny I’d never thought of doing that separately and bringing it together. No pressure on your left handed attempt.
Such a great way to learn it Jon
Another master class DM, you’ve 100% improved my golf knowledge over the last 2 years which in turn has improved my over all game.
At the end of the day, golf is all about IQ and having a basic understanding of what works what etc… it’s a game between the ears, you’ve helped me. Bravo sir. 👏
Happy to help George 😁
best bunker lesson ever Danny thank you, simply explained simply executed simply understood, brilliant!!!!
Glad it was helpful Dave
Amazing lesson. Covers all the key aspects for us amateurs (ball position, feet alignment, swing) in an easily digestible manner that we can implement right away. Thank you!
Really happy to help Joe
Love how you break things down and make it simple instead of overcomplicated as so many other pros do. I recommend you to everyone I know who golfs. Thank you Mr Maude!!
Thank you Arlen 😁
Excellent thanks Danny, very detailed I’m looking forward to trying it.
Hope you enjoy it Graham
Thanks Danny! I tried this technique in a tournament and the official said I had racked up 6 penalty strokes for various club groundings, sand doodles, and pulling out a 2nd ball. However, I was able to get up and down for a 10. Would definitely recommend.
Excelente! Un abrazo
Your visuals are amazingly helpful. Can't wait to apply.
Glad you like them! Have fun
Great video again Danny thank you
You are very welcome one

Once again, a great video, Danny. Concise, understandable, and full of info. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful Jeffrey
Danny, This bunker approach worked amazingly well. Thanks for your excellent instructions!
That’s incredible like thank you
Fantastic lesson. Went to practice and it really works. Game changer!
Brilliant to hear Philip
Thanks Danny ..yet again 😊
My pleasure! 🙏
Great lesson Danny. So simple, but so understandable. You've clarified a number of points here for me. You do a terrific job for your students ALL the time. Be well-Russ
Awesome, thank you Russ
Danny, this is just such a great set up. Thank you so much.
Thank you!
Fantastic tips 👌
Thanks so much Richard
Just what I needed!
Thank you
Brilliant! Thank you
You're very welcome Jeff
This was so very helpful. Went straight to my local club & practiced from the worst bunkers (my course does superficial raking over hard pan beneath) with great results. One thing I noticed is your feet alignment. I'd always been instructed to have an open stance (left of target). Aligning as you did toward the target allowed a consistently predictable outcome. Thanks.
Brilliant to hear
Great video, thanks Danny
Pleasure Jerry
Thanks for sharing - I’ll get myself to the bunker!
Have fun
Great reminder of the key to good setup. Cheers
Pleasure Richard
Many thanks Danny.
This is a great video nicely completing the others you did on bunker shots..👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Great set up - will defo do this in the future !
Love to hear how you get on Fergus
My grandfather taught me this exact drill for setup and swing to make sand contact one ball behind about 50 years ago! It still works, and when I go wonky I always return to this. He always said that setup was the key to good bunker play around the green. Fairway bunkers are completely different. I would love to see a lesson for strikes from fairway bunkers! Thank you!
Thank you 🙏
If something was once true it’s always true. Your grandfather was a wise man and good teacher. Lucky you. This is why Danny has 1.2 million followers and why I’m just one of them. Another great bunker lesson that I needed. I’m a 10 hdcp that still struggles with greenside bunkers. Makes no sense but I still need the help and excellent reminders.
@@user2023workingonmygame really appreciate the support
Tried this out on the weekend, in 2 bunkers and out in 2 shots total. Easy to follow tyvm.
Brilliant Don, well done!
Thanks Danny
Pleasure
Fantastic lesson Danny. Simple. Can't wait to get out there and practice it
Have fun
Great stuff Danny.
Glad you enjoyed it Lawrence
Thanks for another great lesson Sir Danny.
Glad you liked it Mike
Fantastic bunker lesson. Keep up the great lessons. and thank you! Bruce
Really happy to help Bruce
Thanks Danny! Great info for a challenging golf shot! 👍🏻🏌🏻♂️
Thanks Rob!
thanks Danny !!!!
You are very welcome
Beautiful lesson as ever Danny! What I've realised from watching you, is your control is such that you can consistently recreate the reasons for our bad shots. I would love to see a chipping lesson where you concentrate on what makes the bad shots. Then show us how to recreate those bad shots on purpose, then move onto slowly correcting them.
I think you did this once with a slice video, you showed us how to hook it and then bring it back to straight. I found that helpful as it made me "feel" the bad shots and thus it was easier to correct them.
This video was so good. I struggle with the bunker, hope I never get in it!!!However, I tried your ‘set and swing ‘ and it worked! I couldn’t believe it. I will continue to follow your advice. I so appreciate all your weekly videos!
this was again very useful. Thanks
Thank you 😁
Great video and great drill. I can’t wait to put it into action later today.❤
Hope you enjoy it!
Best tutor on you tube! Great lesson.
Wow, thanks!
Thanks!👍
Danny another brilliant video
Really kind Stephen
Terrific Danny
Really kind thank you
Danny as usual fantastic 🏌🏿♂️
Really kind thank you
Danny…one word: Brilliant! Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it Mark 🙏
Great video, thank you!
Really kind Daniel thank you
Danny, how do I resolve yips when I have a short wedge shot with bunker or water between me and the green?
Well done Danny 👏 😊
Really happy to help Roy
Great video Danny. Simple techniques that make bunker play look simple. I only wish my local club had sand that is playable.
Superb!
Thank you Kenneth
Thanks so much for this!
I've found myself very inconsistent, some shots going out beautifully. Now when thinking back, I realised that I inadvertently did a lot of what you described here. Happy to now have the recipe, brilliant!
@JCHJansen you are very welcome. Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you 🙏🏻
A pure masterclass.
Really kind James
Thanks!
That’s really kind Rob
I am going to incorporate this drill, my bunker play currently sucks
Love to hear how you get on
Superb video as always Danny. I REALLY struggle in bunkers, cant wait to try this.
You can do it!
I am a high handicapper and have been struggling with the process of learning to play the game for a great number of years...I have never developed a reliable bunker shot and this is method is something I will have to immediately begin practicing... I will let you know the results... many thanks for this wonderful tutorial...
Please do
Danny - really struggled in the bunkers yesterday and didn’t understand what I was doing wrong. Often, i fat it and don’t get the ball out. Worse if i have to carry it across the green. Not a chance.
Super helpful video. Ball placement forward. ✅ low hands and knees bent. ✅. But i noticed not a lot of twisting or shoulder movement. It seems you naturally let the arms swing around your body with a loose (fishtail) wrist. Is that right?
Can’t wait to give this a and shavea few strokes off my score. Thank you. You’re the best.
Absolutely
I cannot wait to get to the practice bunker to make this lesson part of my game.
Love to hear how you get on Robert
thanks danny, really helped me overcome my fear of bunkers and thinning the ball. thanks ❤
Dan, My bunker play is far behind the rest of my game, so this video tells me what I should be doing to at least look good. Thanks for the lesson.
You can do it!
Terry Cork
Great lesson Danny I really need this one
Thanks for all the support Terry
Brilliant. I used to be able to get out of the sand on my first try consistently, but not lately. I think a big part of the problem is having the ball in the middle of my stance, rather than forward as shown. That, and these other tips, are sure to help. What weight distribution at set up would you recommend Danny?
Does depend on the lie but generally a little forward
Fantastic green side bunker video. Thank you Danny. Can we ask for a fairway bunker video that shows how these two set ups are similar and/or different? Thanks again. Shared with other friends who also needed to see this set up. Well done.
Thanks Tom appreciate the feedback and support 😁👍
Great lesson Danny. I could use some help for fairway bunker shots.
Either player them like this and just use a club with enough loft to get them out or if the lip is low enough play them like a normal shot
It's amazing how easy the game can be when it's taught in understandable bite-size chunks and something I will have to try.
Bunker play is only something I can to "practice" unfortunately when i'm actually on the course, and over the years I developed my own style of bunker play. The ball usually towards the back of my stance, feet pointing 30-45 degrees open stance with the club also open so it runs up the longest part of the face. Almost like a modified flop shot. Works most of the time, with distance control coming from club head speed.
What i like the most in your videos is your clear English, I am Swedish, and that you do not wear a hat/cap so I can see your facial expressions. Karl N
Thank you Karl
I’d love to do with 2 arms what Danny can do with 1. Another brilliant lesson
Really kind thank you
Thx v much, Danny. One extra thing is using a tempo 2:1 as with pitches and chips as all the tour players and you do, rather than 3:1 (drives and iron shots). It feels as though I have so much time on the shot and is calming to boot!
I read the green like a putt. Put the ball slightly back of center and barely open my stance and pick the ball off the sand just like from the fairway, WORKS EVERY TIME!!! Try it.
Great to hear
Nice one as always Danny. Lovely to see the sun shining on Canterbury GC where I was a member in the late 70’s. I remember seeing a lot of those trees being planted.
Thank you Niguel 😁 the weather was great 🙌
Hello Danny, please note you're using two definitions of low point position in this video:
1. from 1'05" onwards, you say the low point is slightly (which in the visual looks like three quarters of a golf ball) AHEAD of the golf ball
2. 4'45'' into the video, low point is visualised (as a line) directly UNDER the ball
To my knowledge, a low point that is ahead of the ball would result from a setup similar to the compact sand shot you demonstrated: steeper AoA.
Could you clarify, please?
Many thanks for the video!
It’s amazing how little effort is really needed to hit a ball out of a bunker. Letting gravity do the work was key for me. No need to lunge or hit hard in most cases. Now if I can only do this when I am actually playing golf and I only get one chance.😊
You can do it
Thanks so much for doing this Danny. Now I just have to find a course with bunkers in play!!
Any time Penny
Danny, thank you for putting out all this great content! I’ve been working on the bunker technique but the distance from the ball guideline is bringing the hosel into play for me quite a bit. Any suggestions on how to adjust to the new set up to avoid this? Thank you! John
Many thanks Danny. Can't say I'll be looking forward to my next bunker. But with this approach I might be filled with less fear of fluffing. But will practice first.
You can do it Brian
There is no one better, TH-cam or anywhere else, at explaining how to hit the golf ball.
That’s so kind think you
Been watching you for two weeks. Took your lessons to the range yesterday. I’m still terrible, BUT I’m learning why. 20 years of bad habits will be hard to break…
Keep it up, you can do it
Danny is by far the best instructor on the internet but not even he can get me out of a bunker.
You can do it Steven 👍
Thanks Merci
You are very welcome Philip
Great video Danny. Would you talk about the amount of bounce for bunker shots?? Thanks
Great bunker tutelage thank you. Took me a little hole to figure out I had to pick the club up more than my usual chip shot, any shot for that matter. Once I figured that I started getting that arc. Ps same technic worked for flop shots from light rough over a bunker onto green.
Thanks David! Happy to help 😁
