Kitty Pride is not only "like" the Rogue from the original series, she is exactly who that role SHOULD have been. We were robbed by not getting Rogue's ACTUAL origin, and Mystique, as well! Getting a chance to tell these stories RIGHT would be GREAT!
It's a smart move for the MCU X-Men to omit Wolverine from the first entry. His popularity and solo films overshadowed the other member's screen time and character development. Better to feature lesser shown mutants such as Gambit, Bishop, Cable, Psylocke, Colossus, etc. Fox's live actions did a great job on their aesthetics but they lacked fleshed out stories and personas.
That and it just gives the character time to cool off. They can properly build the core members like you said. I’m very excited tbh. Third times the charm…right? 😅

Having heard Gambit as a focus in the new X-men reboot makes me super excited, he is one of my favorites and a heavy hitter ego deserves some spotlight and deserves to be done correctly in the MCU!

I've been saying this for a while now, but they won't. Why? Because they are all white characters, plain and simple. In the original comic series, Bobby wasn't gay yet. They could make him gay in the movie to add a touch of diversity, but I simply don't think this team is going to happen.
I was thinking the same thing because they have never made an original adaptation of the xmen team on the big screen, unlike fantastic four and Spiderman those stories have had their origin story told many time already. X-men on the other hand has not once, I think the first 5 would be the way to go.

Gambit was my son's favorite X-Men growing up, his relationship with Kitty Pride was a good relationship on the show. Great choice for a start of something new.
Seeing as though they completely botched Kitty's story in the original, this better be handled properly. Now the issue that could arise is her closeness to Wolverine as well. In the original, they essentially gave Rogue her storyline and messed that completely up. One way to tie in Marvel Girl is eventually get to the point where Rogue steals Binary;s powers and seeks out the X-Men for refuge.
I hope they go deep into each of the Xmen characters, like the first film to lead up to how they all meet and how they all do simulations, each character should get enough of their origin story... They each have interesting back grounds and how each member met Xavier... Movie should be 2hrs long because there's a lot ... I agree with some comments that they should make Logan the last character they meet and focus on the team first... Storm has one of the best origin stories because she was treated like a Goddess that she is back in her hometown... I hope they finally give us the powerhouse that is Rogue... The first movie should be about fighting the sentinels n make them look like Xmen 97 cause that's dope... Man I do hope they get it right this time around

The extended development of MCU-X reminds me of the glory days of Orion trying to get an X film going, with me surfing the end of that wave before they put it in turnaround. I was pretty jazzed when the first film landed; they pretty much did what I was doing (not a rip-off of my work, though, just the use of Magneto and a small team…I had more originals, though.)

What exactly is your reasoning for why they'd recast Gambit? They announced his movie in 2014, then the Disney-Fox merger happened and all Fox projects were reevaluated. The only reason the Gambit project didn't proceed was that it had experienced development issues, and those were due to Fox mismanagement. What wasn't a factor is Channing Tatum. Feige approved Tatum playing the role in DaW. If he'd had a problem with it, he certainly wouldn't have wanted him in that cameo. Why would you recast the actor when you have one that's as passionate about the character as Ryan's been with Deadpool, and who's already become an audience favorite playing that role in DaW? Those are all the very good reasons why you'd want to keep him in that role. So what are the comparable reasons for why you wouldn't?
Because he is getting old probably. They need new actors that can carry their roles for 10+ years. Channing is not getting any younger, unfortunately. His peak already passed. He would’ve killed it circa 2006.
@@chriscraig7289 you're right, I spent most of my childhood just off the coast between Baton Rouge and New Orleans. Nothing but creole out there, and Channing was totally on point.
I think they will definitely want someone younger. Someone who with both do a more serious version of the character and be able to play him for the next 15-20 years if they need him to. Even just from a future planning perspective, keeping Channing Tatum makes no sense.
I understand wanting to bring in new fans, but focusing on the female members for the entire movie would of been a FAILURE. I hope some of the things i heard about DP3 were wrong, because if not, they still haven't learned
Hearing this makes me very happy. Gambit has always been my favorite X-Men ever since I first watched him in the original animated series. Kitty pride was always while my favorites while watching X-Men evolution. I enjoyed her story arcs on that cartoon. I was sort of disappointed the way that show ended and hope that one day it will also be brought back.
They did heard that they won't do x-men 97 spin-offs guess they want to save that in live action. With is too bad it would have been nice to see x-men 97 spin-offs in animations. Like Gambit and Rogue or Mr. And Mrs. X like in the comics. Guess we will see that later in live action in the mcu.
I'm curious how long we'll have to wait to find out the cast & line-up of the MCU X-Men team, & when they'll first get introduced. Gambit is a great baseline for mutants, but the X-Men and X-Factor teams need to be separate. The addition of Alpha Flight, as well as Xcaliper, will be a good add on...

I really wish this was not owned by Disney. They seem to ruin everything they touch. I know Deadpool 3 has been successful, but I also know there was a lot of controversy throughout the entire process. There’s only one Ryan Reynolds. Don’t let them ruin my beloved X-Men.
I'd definitely love to see Gambit in the new team. Wolverine not being present in the 1st movie is ok because he was always moving around and helping past teams. As long as they name drop him, or a short memory type cameo from the perspective of one of the other X-men would be good!

I still think McAvoy and Fassbender were perfect, and they're still both about the perfect age to start out with and then age further in to their roles.

What exactly is your reasoning for why they'd recast Gambit?
They announced his movie in 2014, then the Disney-Fox merger happened and all Fox projects were reevaluated.
The only reason the Gambit project didn't proceed was that it had experienced development issues, and those were due to Fox mismanagement. What wasn't a factor is Channing Tatum.
Feige approved Tatum playing the role in DaW. If he'd had a problem with it, he certainly wouldn't have wanted him in that cameo.
Why would you recast the actor when you have one that's as passionate about the character as Ryan's been with Deadpool, and who's already become an audience favorite playing that role in DaW?
Those are all the very good reasons why you'd want to keep him in that role. So what are the comparable reasons for why you wouldn't?
Because he is getting old probably. They need new actors that can carry their roles for 10+ years. Channing is not getting any younger, unfortunately. His peak already passed. He would’ve killed it circa 2006.

Channing Tatum Gabit was a great sight gag in Deadpool & Wolverine. But I imagine they will get someone who can actually speak Creole.
He's to bulky to play Gambit, it look like Gambit got stung by bees and had an allergy to it

@@chriscraig7289 you're right, I spent most of my childhood just off the coast between Baton Rouge and New Orleans. Nothing but creole out there, and Channing was totally on point.
I think they will definitely want someone younger. Someone who with both do a more serious version of the character and be able to play him for the next 15-20 years if they need him to. Even just from a future planning perspective, keeping Channing Tatum makes no sense.

I understand wanting to bring in new fans, but focusing on the female members for the entire movie would of been a FAILURE. I hope some of the things i heard about DP3 were wrong, because if not, they still haven't learned
I think they learned from She Hulk and Marvels especially. Marvel just terminated contracts for a few employees including producers.
X to doubt Disney learned a damned thing with those firings just were cost cutting and not really cutting of PC bs.

I am intrigued.
Hearing this makes me very happy. Gambit has always been my favorite X-Men ever since I first watched him in the original animated series. Kitty pride was always while my favorites while watching X-Men evolution. I enjoyed her story arcs on that cartoon. I was sort of disappointed the way that show ended and hope that one day it will also be brought back.

They did heard that they won't do x-men 97 spin-offs guess they want to save that in live action. With is too bad it would have been nice to see x-men 97 spin-offs in animations. Like Gambit and Rogue or Mr. And Mrs. X like in the comics. Guess we will see that later in live action in the mcu.

Gambit is a great baseline for mutants, but the X-Men and X-Factor teams need to be separate. The addition of Alpha Flight, as well as Xcaliper, will be a good add on...

I really wish this was not owned by Disney. They seem to ruin everything they touch. I know Deadpool 3 has been successful, but I also know there was a lot of controversy throughout the entire process. There’s only one Ryan Reynolds. Don’t let them ruin my beloved X-Men.
I'd definitely love to see Gambit in the new team. Wolverine not being present in the 1st movie is ok because he was always moving around and helping past teams. As long as they name drop him, or a short memory type cameo from the perspective of one of the other X-men would be good!
I liked Tatum Channing as Gambit. I hope they keep him.
He will be 50 by the time the first X-Men film comes out.
