    That little amps sounds GREAT! I just recently got the new 2 channel, 100 watt Powerstation and I LOVE IT too. Now not only can I actually get my 100 watters cooking in the zone they sound and feel best, I now haver an amazing FX loop with my old non-master Marshall's. I am as exited about that as I am the pure, transparent attenuation. I can't say enough how much of a game changer the Fryette Powerstation really is.

      The effects loop on the fryette was a game changer for me. I have passed on a lot of older amps that didn't have an effects loop and being able to just add a loop with the ps-2 WITHOUT modding the amp...opened up all kinds of exciting new possibilities.

    I’ve owned a lot of hand wired boutique 50 watt plexi clones, and I swear I like my sv20 better. Ac/DC, Led Zeppelin lives within the SV20, Mötley Crüe also lives in with a boost out front.

    Awesome.. but you were blowing out your recorder with lush plexi tones.. lol.. I have a PS2 also an almost killed my vintage Marshall Major 1970.. (had it modded to a SL cascading gain with split bias EL34 + KT88).. I had my PS2 on another amp and put it on my plexi but forgot my amp input load was set to 8 ohm.. OMG as i run the plexi at 16 ohm out and into 16 ohm cab.. holy heck it started to whistle and sound strange and just as i approached my amp to shut her down.. the indicator light went OUT.. luckily just blew the 10A fuse.. didnt have to fork out for a new output tranny.. HAVE TO MAKE sure those taps are correct folks ..!!

      @bjstein4242 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@danvan8789 yeah.. I was playing around with another amp running 8 ohm into 16 cab to see if the drive was a bit different and forgot to switch it back.. luckily no harm.. only had it on a minute or so before the sequels started.. and when I went over to turn the amp off and the power light went out my heart sank.. but the fuse did it's job

      Some big time producers leave it on 16 ohm all the time, with an 8 or even 4 ohm head. Sounds like they’re being lazy, but maybe it’s better than frying a vintage head

    I went back and watched all you videos on this amp again, Chad....and I didn't notice it before... But, it's amazing how much that Fryette tightened up your tone. It sounded killer, but a just a bit loose in the other videos. Whatever you did made this amp really shine. Maybe being able to turn it up?? Or, possibly the guitar you're using (pups??). I'm going to go back and watch to see exactly what you did again. That tone is the THE Marshall tone right there. I was still bouncing between this and the mini 800, and I like the warmth of the plexi much better...especially, with the low-input, clean stuff.

    Thanks for the video! I also just bought a Fryette PS-2a. I have a couple of questions, if you're so kind to help me.
    1. When I turn the Fryette on I can hear the fan making a "starting" noise, and then then fan is quite loud.
    2. When my amp is off, and just the Fryette is on - I hear some background noise when I switch from bypass to operate.
    Are these things normal? do you experience the same behavior with your Fryette?
    Thanks a bunch!
