Just got a couple DJI wireless lapel mics so you can actually HEAR what I am saying. The iPhone compression with a loud amp has been kicking my but. I just plugged it in and haven't touched the mic levels yet. Hopefully this will lead to better content. Rocking the JCM 800 tonight. #marshallamps #washburnguitars #djimic2 #jcm800

Great night playing originals with the boys 🤘🏼🎸 Used the EVH Frankie. Swapped out the bridge with a GOTOH Floyd Rose. Amazing upgrade for cheap. Like 130 dollars cheap. Brass block and smooth as silk. For the price of a Frankie they shoulda had these in factory.

Yeah just so its not blowing my mic out. I actually use that as a re-amp live with the 50 watt 6l6 section. That little 20 watter is loud as F 😂

Just the Delay and Reverb in my Presonus board. Live PA
I'm pretty sure he used Rockman or rocktron rack stuff on 5150. It sure sounds like that anyway. Great tone outta that little guy. I have a wet dry wet system as well Love the EVH fullness. I also really like listening to Dann Huff's rig.

UA Lion pedal direct into my mixing board. Added a bit of delay and reverb on the board. Those are my studio monitors you are hearing. Recorded with my iPhone in the room.

It seems the Power Staion does not reduce the volume. At least I cannot hear a difference. So what is it good for?
It can go from whisper quiet to full 50 watt re-amped tube volume. I haven't done a video on it in a while. Maybe I will throw another one up. 👍🏻

Absolutely had ground loop issues going on. Have that solved now. Yeah both amps are pretty crunchy!!!

@@toddamarino actually spent like 30 bucks on Amazon for a Behringer HD400. Took me two purchases to get one that both channels worked on but its pretty sweet.

I bought a 300st I found at a local Salvation Army with a sweet hard case for $25 bucks. I actually bought it for the hard case that’s in great condition. The guitar is a little rough and needs some trem work but does play. Thinking of putting about $50 bucks in her to see what happens not going to go crazy, but for $25 starting invest I have nothing to lose. Hope it will be a fun little home noodling axel.
Sounds killer no doubt. However, at 5:52 you state that you're turning off the PS but you didn't turn it off or even bypass it. All you did was turn down the input sensitivity (lo/Hi) then bring the PS volume knob right back up to compensate for the change in PS input level. You're also adding a ton of presence and depth with those associated controls on the PS. Can't really see where you have your Bright and Warm switches on your PS either.
I usually keep the presence and depth at noon and the switches in the middle but you are right. I will do another video without the PS 👍🏻 its just so dang loud 😂
Well whatever you're doing, you're getting some great results out of your SV20. I've tried two of these in my studio running thru my Power Station PS-2A using EVH 4x12 cab, friedman greenback 4x12 cab, Marshall V30 cab, Zilla 2x12 w/alnico creams, none have come close to the sounds you've demonstrated here unless I hit the front with an SD-1 or Tumnus Deluxe. Would you mind getting a close-up shot of your amp and PS settings the next time you do another video on it? Keep up the killer tone demos my man.
Hey Chad. Thanks for your response. I‘m well familliar how the EQ works on the Mini Plexi. It‘s all about hitting the poweramp with the right amount of level. More like the eq on a boost pedal. Kind of like the first eq on the Mesa Mark. But I‘m still confused. Your chugs on half way volume are top level 80s metal. I‘m on 6 for both and not nearly at this gain level. I almost crank my mids but set treble at 9 o clock and lower the bass just a little. P.S. Nice flag in the background. Greetings from Bavaria. 🍺😎

@@cbiltz75 Nice! Got a Marshall 412 with G12t75 at home and a mixed one at the rehearsal space with v30s and Greenbacks. For home practice i usually use my TwoNotes Captor X with a Rutan Greenback DynIR. So the amp knows many different settings. But the amount of gain is similar and as i said, nowhere near yours. I‘m boosting with OD808 and MXR Dist+ for Iron Maiden type sounds.
@@m.brandy84 I even swapped the tubes to see if that was making it more gainy and punchy but it sounds the same to me. I am gonna do a straight amp vid and use my GoPro so it stops compressing my voice so you can actually hear what I am saying.

That's a very expensive attenuator, possibly costing more than the amp itself, and guess what, yep, it sounds amazing.
It was about half the price ha ha ha but my god it makes ALL my amps sound great!!!

I SWEAR by the EVH cabs for exactly that issue. Thats also room sound from an iPhone.
Don't forget that Guitar pickups can also make a difference.

Great tone! What are your settings on the Marshall? Jumpered inputs?
That was straight into the Trebble channel no jumping. All dials at noon except the presence was bumped a bit.
@@cbiltz75But it has to be boosted... I can‘t get the amount of distortion without a boost.
@@m.brandy84gonna throw up another video explaining how I set it. Mind you I am mic'ing the amp in this which in my opinion makes it sound more gainy. Will use my iPhone in the next one.

Its an ESP E-II ST-II with the stock Dimarzio's
@@cbiltz75yeah, I've done some research, and found out that guitar is discontinued, unfortunately. I have an ESP E-II Horizon FR with an EMG 81 and EMG 66TW, really comfortable axe! And great quality!

Dude, I just went down the wet/dry rabbit hole and you did not disappoint, that sound is wild! I've got a 40w 5150 Iconic combo, and your final tone sounds like what EVH was trying to accomplish with the Burn on Ch2, but with total clarity. I can get close with the gain low, burn on, and boost about double the gain, but that tightness washes out. I think I need a Plexi. The Iconic can be switched as a power head, so all I need now is a Plexi and a couple of cabs. Lol, here we go!

Thanks for the video! I also just bought a Fryette PS-2a. I have a couple of questions, if you're so kind to help me. 1. When I turn the Fryette on I can hear the fan making a "starting" noise, and then then fan is quite loud. 2. When my amp is off, and just the Fryette is on - I hear some background noise when I switch from bypass to operate. Are these things normal? do you experience the same behavior with your Fryette? I run the Marshall into the Fryette Powerstation to re-amp it to 50 watts. I use the effects loop of the Powerstation for Delay and Reverb. In the front of the Marshall I had a Boss Sd-1 for a bit more in the leads.

Man, I watch hour long video's of people getting serious and scientific about chasing that tone. They fall short. You do a 1 minute sound check an nail it. 👍

Absolutely can. 50 watt tube power section in the model I have.
