One of your best videos so far. There's obvious enthusiasm for the wacky story, and the whole premise is a fun curve ball. That was part of the appeal of David Letterman's show in the 80s... it followed a standard format, but now and then he'd just install a little fountain next to the guest chairs or interview the weird guy who lived under the audience seats.
I’m glad you enjoyed it! I want to do more things like this sporadically in the future too, so the positive feedback makes me feel like that’s definitely going on the table. Sometimes it’s nice to take a game break and just yap some silly things to people 🥹🥹🥹
I love this game to death, but damn they leave sooooo many plot points unresolved. Hopefully, dlc will answer some of the things left unanswered, I doubt it, though. Great vid as usual!!!

Great video lmfao, DD2 is a fun but EXTREMELY flawed game, especially in the story department. Literally the entire story can be summarized by saying it went nowhere, because in the end it really didn't. They set up like three separate story arcs throughout the whole game and literally none of them were resolved. I actually did a NG+ speedrun recently to get to the Unmoored World as quickly as possible to farm stuff, and beating the story in a rush really highlights how dogshit it is lmao.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! I had a lot of fun putting this video together myself, too. The story is insanely flawed, and I think it's genuinely quite funny. It reminds me of like... It almost feels like it was improvised, because the entire story follows this "yes, and..." logic where NOTHING really gets answered, you just keep getting shuttled along to different things. It's equal parts unsatisfying and hilarious. I adore the game enough that its fun to pick at its flaws a bit LMAO
Indeed. The story is wack af. Like the story writer/writers had ideas but couldn't really grasp them in their entirety and had to do with this half-baked, soggy crouton. I wrote a whole 15k? words story within the Battletech universe just for fun so what's their excuse? Probably that the dude who was responsible for the story also had to Code stuff while writing the story and got burned out halfway through it because Japanese work laws and work ethics are kinda made to make you get a burnout in record time.
The story just comes across like they wrote the start of 4 different games that didn’t go anywhere and mashed them into one story. It’s actually impressive how many plot lines in the game just seem to fall flat on their face LMAO Japan also has a mindset at times that story doesn’t matter if mechanics are good and I think it can sometimes hold games back.
Honestly, I wanted to love this game but (save for some aspects of combat) this game is wretched. Bad controls, bad party AI and the most ignorable story of any fantasy RPG I've ever played.
I feel like the party AI got a little bit better over time. Will not argue with you on the story. The game landed well with my viewer community so I’ve played it twice through and I still have NO idea what’s going on in about 3/4 of the story lmao
