Hey guys.
In this DCS World Simulator video I'm in the J11 fighting against 4NViL in SU30 (Thanks for the help buddy). This is a BVR (Beyond Visual Range) fight. Hope you guys enjoy.
I love playing simulators, I started with Arma 3 and then I saw DCS World. I also enjoy War Thunder , Battlefield , Ghost recon, Squad , Rome total war, Microsoft Flight Simulator and more. I also enjoy World War II games including il-2 In DCS World i found all the jets that i wanted to fly in a simulator the F 16 Viper , FA 18 Hornet , F 15 Eagle , A 10 Warthawg , SU 27 , Mig 29 , P 51 , Spitfire , AH 64 Apeche , Heuy and more... And if you will download MODs the options are endless: F 22 Raptor, SU 57 , A 4 Skyhawk , SR 71 Blackbird , Rafale, Gripen and the list goes on.

"I'm going to turn my radar off." 3 minutes later "I still don't have him on radar".
Just like cooking your dinner takes far longer if you never turn the stove on, radar locking an opponent seems to take _forever_ when your radar is shut down.
I turned it back on...

If you look at 13:40 for example the radar is on (ИЗЛ meaning radiation is on), but it is pointing the wrong way. Russian and Soviet radars were built that by default they scan co-altitude with you, and then you change expected distance and altitude difference between you and the target (provided by ground based radar for example). On the right side of the HUD you can see that the nose (where the Su30 is) is pointing up (marked by two horizontal dashes) but the radar is scanning co-altitude with you (0 near a short vertical dash), below the actual bandit location. If you had switched to boresight or vertical scan it probably would have picked him up.
Well explained, the radar is by default leveled. Should have simply pointed the radar up ^^ The E0 mode on the other hand is pointing in the direction of the nose, so probably could have gotten an E0 lock since he was looking at him directly. Also if he had chosen high PRF instead of medium (ABT) he probably would have seen him earlier in the beginning.
Having trouble locking the Su-30MKI? Could it be the Israeli jamming pods that helped it survive half a dozen AMRAAMs IRL over Kashmir

Edge of my seat drama in this one. You showed the meaning of timing and tactics in this. Great deal of memory work on missile aloft timing. Most of these were just seconds away from contact for both of you. The turn radius at slower speeds with those missiles is pretty accurate. Lots of learning shared, LongShot. Uber Eats...DoorDash missile delivery from jets.

Great fight! I had no idea who was going to win that one, the kill at the end was a surprise. Way to keep us on the edge of our seats! Also, nice to see some 'red' vs 'red', we don't get to see a whole lot of that.
The last two missiles you fire were chasing target by themselves. They don't even need to lock down to track. Maybe there is a display Bug?
Yes he fired them without a lock, since the SD-10 is a fox 3 it has a small radar built into the seeker head. When you fire it on "mad dog" as soon as the missile is off the rails it turns on its radar and searches for bandit on its own. Since they were fairly close, the seeker was able to find and lock on the enemy flanker on its own.
God the tension here was unbelievable! Normally I watch all my TH-cam on mobile, but watching this on a PC , I can't describe how much of a pucker factor i felt,, Also, the Mad Dog part had me thinkking: I'd love to see a Fox-3 fight where you're forced to go boresight visual mode at some point, because I know at least the AMRAAM has that ability, so seeing different Fox-3's sent in boresight visual would scratch an itch of mine.. fantastic video!
And I was rooting for J-11 :(

The Su 30MKI are custom built to take on the Chinese J series clones, just like the Indian Mig 29k is custom built to take on the Pakistani F16

I have to thank you for the wonderful clarity in the video; Something that GS doesn't always get in his replays. Some beautiful close up shots off the body and wings. Totally believable, totally awesome. ( I think that's an american expression). I can't wait for your next outing. Although I suspect i may have to ! 🙂

No, the radar was just not able to pick him up. Pulse doppler could not identify the foe in time. The enemy J-11 was looking his direction much longer and so his radar could identify the foe using radar signature quicker as longshots flanker was moving the radar too much around for the radar to be able to get a lock and pick up radar target. he only turned it off for a brief second but that wasn't the reason he couldn't get the lock. hope I could help

What you mean is the Su-30 had more time to lock target than the J-11?
