Okay Satoru Iwata inventing the compression tool just to fit a second region has got to be one of the most impressive power moves in video gaming history
Also, when he was put in charge of Earthbound's chaotic development, and he explained to the director two alternatives "If we complete it by fixing what we have now, it will take two years, If it is OK to start again from scratch, it can be done in a half year"
If you read even his wiki page you kinda cannot believe how a corporate president of a multibillionaire company had such a huge creative impact , on top of the business part.
Iwata was a real treasure to the gaming industry. He really touched a lot of people's lives through his work. I always loved his saying, “On my business card, I am a corporate president. In my mind, I am a game developer. But in my heart, I am a gamer.” With Iwata's passing and Reggie retiring it was an end of an era, but with people like Miyamoto, Sakurai and Aonuma still in the scene, Nintendo is still strong as ever.
my favorite Iwata quote is [ " I challenge every developer that If we ever come to a disagreement, please follow your opinion first, and not mine, because you cant put limits on creative minds and expect them to be creative".] I think this summarizes his entire philosophy and the respect he showed within the company. ("Ask Iwata" is a really nice book, almost like a philosophy one and has lot info about how things worked in Nintendo during his time)

It makes sense for Nintendo to use "Ultrahand" (an ability to pick up, move, and rotate objects) in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom which dates back to the arm-like toy developed in the early years of Nintendo History.
