For real! stuff like that is so fun you don't have to be a kid to do it. I still have dolls and im old lol although i wish he got to do it as a kid. kids should play with what makes them happy.
I thought it seemed like a brilliant idea for tiny studio apartment setups where you might not have space for both a traditional entertainment center and a mini fridge, or house share where the only space that's fully Yours is a single room with the same layout issues and also your food and drinks have proven to be at risk of disappearing from the communal fridge. Markets itself, really!
considering how popular fridges with TVs were for a while around 7 years ago or so, it makes so much sense, especially for people who have little space. It could be the beer/soda fridge to use when friends come over to watch movies?
I was worried when poki was squeaking but I'm so relieved he was back to yelling at the end! Also Japanese thrift stores look SO MUCH COOLER than American ones!!

6:30 I believe that doll house is from a line of toys called calico critters, The model is called "red roof country home", I had one of them when I was a child and loved it! It would be so cool to try and make a replicate dollhouse of your own house! And furnish it with the mini versions of your furniture or even use it to test out different furniture/decorations!
Jun was right with setting the Abacus. I teach blind and visually impaired students here in the US. and we use a slightly modified abacus that was based on the design of the Japanese abacus. Thrift stores are amazing. The older I get, the more my treasure hunting just turns on and i love finding weird, old shit that for some reason noone wants anymore.

Thrift shops are so fun! Your garden is going to be so gorgeous and peaceful!! I absolutely adore how Poki shouts to let you know he's on the wheel and then once you're watching he takes a few steps and is ready for his treat 😂
Miniature design and decorating can be really fun! Seeing how both of you are into DIY, it would be cool to see what kinds of details you would add to a little dollhouse or miniature garden. Maybe a future project?
I lived in Japan 30 years ago and I never saw a thrift store there during my six years. I thought it wasn’t in the cultural norm. Watching this I marvel at the inexpensive and quality of the items. You two sound very happy
Two things I just love, not, including the cats, of course. I’ve always loved how much Jun loves Rachel. I mean in casual conversation not many men keep calling their wife, their wife, after years into the marriage. And I love how happy Rachel is; I’ve never heard her giggle like this. It’s an adorable, sweet, sweet, giggle and you can tell she’s just deeply happy. 💕
Yes! And I love how he often notices her beautiful hair color and any objects that remind him of it, like that orange mask. You can tell how much he still loves her after all these years, and she loves him just as much.
I love how you and Jun comment on the thrift store wares and interact when shopping, you have a wonderful relationship and you know that you really get along with someone when doing the simplest things is so fun with them. I also love that you actually bother to fact check the things you discussed and how "Bamboo is wood" kept coming back 😂 Rachel sounds so happy in this video and I'm glad to see that you are enjoying your lives in your new home❤A life of thrift stores, gardening, and cats sounds wonderful - you're starting to make me want a life in the countryside as well!
I bought a house about a month ago and I have gotten so much into the adventuring thrift stores, making DIY projects and currently waiting what kind of garden appears from below the snow. Rachel and Jun are my role models
That coffee set looks so cool!! I'm not even a coffee person but it's something i definitely want in my house and serve guests with. Also Jun wanting a Sylvanian Families dollhouse is super relatable lmao.
It would be amazing to see mini-house decoration! I love those sorts of things. Lately I've been seeing a lot of videos of someone building miniture little houses for their cats and it is so fun!
My cat had a tumor removed from his chin and needed to wear a cone as well. For the whole time, he just lived in the bed because he was too scared to move because of the cone. Happy to see that Poki could handle it well!
Hello Rachel and Jun I think that tall wooden rack is a FISHING POLE STORAGE Rack. Some people who fish frequently actually have several fishing rods that they use on different days to catch different types of fish.
Man, browsing thrift stores is always a lot of fun - who knows what you'll come across! 😂 (Also Jun picking up the abacus and telling his abacus course story... Heheh me too, Jun! 😂😺)
T.T Listening to Jun talk about only getting "girls" toys is so relatable :( I'm so glad you're both able to live and express yourselves however you like, "girl stuff" and "boy stuff" can go stuff it!
Ya, and sad that now he would be labeled as gay or Trans because he liked "girl stuff". Who cares what toys a kid wants, just let them play and have fun as kids.
Yeah the problem with that is that most boys do want boy toys and most girls want girl toys. If you got me a girls toy as a kid I would have been pissed. It happened to me a few times and I hated it. Some people are different, but to apply that to everyone is a mistake.

An easy way to tell what is Marble: rest the palm of your hand on the surface and if the surface doesn't absorb the heat of your hands, is marble. Marble slabs preferred for working pastry dough because it will keep the butter in the dough cold.
I loooove book storage boxes, I have like 20 of them around my house filled with various knickknacks lol they all came from thrift stores. Absolutely loved seeing thrift stores in Japan, so much great stuff 😁 thanks for a great video guys!!!!
Yes, I wanted that vase! I had a dollhouse and never played with it. I read books (starting at 3). But fantasy is my whole life, so now I read manga and books with faeries and elves. I got one set of Lincoln Logs, so I could only build one cabin. I would have loved more. And then, Lego came out and I never got those, but after the move, I am going to get some sets. My friend went to China and brought me an abacus and showed me how to use it, and I became a whiz! You're right, wouldn;t remember now, but some of what you did brought a lot back. I love your shopping trips!
Rachel in the sponsored segment you look like the personification of spring, so pretty! Those colors really suits you! I'm very happy to see all the cats happy and healthy, good boy poki is really a trooper!
In Australia that yellow flowering tree is called wattle! You should do a tea making video with it like you did your cordial plums! You're going to get soooo many birds and insects in your garden because of it yay!
I love thrift stores, second hand stores and antique shops. I've always been budget conscious and since being on a fixed income I'm even more so. I buy all but under garments and shoes at thrift stores and I get food from food pantries to keep down our grocery bills so that all other bills (utilities, mortgage and medical) get paid on time. I also garden and yours is looking great ! Your flowers are beautiful! I can't wait to get my veggies planted , I've started some seeds in my little portable green house . We love our home grown veggies because we organically. So happy for Poki to have had that lump removed it looked very large and uncomfortable for him. Can't wait to see your cat project. ❤
Okay but the DVD fridge is such a weirdly good idea, I can imagine students and people in VERY small homes using them to save space, but I’m curious if the DVD player would overheat the fridge contents or if the fridge component would help the DVD player stay cool.
Something I love about Rachel and Jun is that it’s nothing crazy just a normal couple showing us clips of there life, ever since I was little they have stayed there cute quiet life with there cats❤
On our 2019 trip to Japan, I picked up a large Sylvanian Families house (and more) at a Book Off Bazaar. XD It goes so well with Re-ment as well. I would totally watch Jun decorate a doll house any day!
The DVD/Mini Fridge combo unit is like the modern day version of my sister's room TV set. Everyone that saw the TV thought it was a microwave, except it was just from the 80s and needed a wrench to change the channel.

This spring Sakura box is so fancy! I love it. And you even match the box's theme :)
Oh that's everything I love watching: diy, cats, gardening, thrift stores, cats and cats 😂💗
Enjoyed waving bye to Haku at the end of the vid, very cute, but sad flower Poki stole my heart
Thrift shops are so fun! Your garden is going to be so gorgeous and peaceful!!
I absolutely adore how Poki shouts to let you know he's on the wheel and then once you're watching he takes a few steps and is ready for his treat 😂
Its so adorable how Poki does that. lol, hes trained his humans well.
Miniature design and decorating can be really fun! Seeing how both of you are into DIY, it would be cool to see what kinds of details you would add to a little dollhouse or miniature garden. Maybe a future project?
It must be so much fun walking with June and Rachel in these stores, you can be on the other side of the store and just hear "JUN! THIS IS SO COOL!"
I also love that you actually bother to fact check the things you discussed and how "Bamboo is wood" kept coming back 😂
Rachel sounds so happy in this video and I'm glad to see that you are enjoying your lives in your new home❤A life of thrift stores, gardening, and cats sounds wonderful - you're starting to make me want a life in the countryside as well!
My own black and white cat is wearing the Elizabethan collar due to an eye injury. I'm glad Poki is doing well! Hope he recovers fast!
Some people who fish frequently actually have several fishing rods that they use on different days to catch different types of fish.
that gigantic cabinet at 1:25 😭 its so beautoful!!!! also YAY im so happy to see you both still mask 💖!!
Thrift Stores and Flea Markets are my home. You can always find such interesting things in them and it's always cheap.
This video had everything!! thrift shopping!! gardening!! cats!! what more would one want😌
I love how even after all these years of being married June is still teaching Rachel things about Japan! 💕
Man, browsing thrift stores is always a lot of fun - who knows what you'll come across! 😂
(Also Jun picking up the abacus and telling his abacus course story... Heheh me too, Jun! 😂😺)
So nice to get an update from you!
@@sweetmissirish I mean, you can take your transphobia and homophobia off my trans gay dude self's post, thanks.
Yeah the problem with that is that most boys do want boy toys and most girls want girl toys. If you got me a girls toy as a kid I would have been pissed. It happened to me a few times and I hated it. Some people are different, but to apply that to everyone is a mistake.
@@GrimmDelightsDice You should look into the guy who helped people turn away from the KKK by becoming their friend instead of just insulting them and telling them how evil they are. Educate instead of demonizing. It could go a long way to helping people understanding Trans people. Just a friendly word of advice, otherwise you are just further stoking the flame of hatred
I'd LOVE to see Jun indulge his doll's house interests! I started making miniatures in 2020 and it's so fun, highly recommend!
the report you got from the vet is phenomenal! So much information
Poor Poki, I hope he makes a full and speedy recovery. It's rather sad hearing his squeaky little voice, I miss his full on miaows!
I love old antiques and Thifts shops!! They have great treasures to find!
Hope Poki is okay and resting well
omgggg poki's raspy little pathetic meows were so cute~~ poor baby lol
The doll house😍 I love sylvanian families doll houses!
I must admit that I questioned some of your choices. But when you showed them in your home, in use, they look _great._ I bow to the masters.
7:00 Jun saying he would've loved a dollhouse/diorama-styled toy as a kid :,)
ps- Jun would be so good at that kind of stuff !!! He's so meticulous and I'd loved to see a video of that
An easy way to tell what is Marble: rest the palm of your hand on the surface and if the surface doesn't absorb the heat of your hands, is marble. Marble slabs preferred for working pastry dough because it will keep the butter in the dough cold.
Hands down Japanese thrift store are my favorite
Poki is such a good and brave boy!
It's so cute that Jun wanted a dollhouse as a kid, but sad that he never got one.
Get well soon, Pokii❤
17:41 You can make a softer cone out of felt or a thin foam material.
Rachel is right, I like the vase
Looking forward to Jun putting together his own dollhouse and excelling at it.
The DVD/Mini Fridge combo unit is like the modern day version of my sister's room TV set.
Everyone that saw the TV thought it was a microwave, except it was just from the 80s and needed a wrench to change the channel.
6:23 THIS WAS SO ME, I LOVED IT TOO JUN 😅 luckily playmobile was gender neutral enough and was basically the same thing so I got that a lot as a kid
❤POKI!❤...squeak!...little heartbreaker.❤I love him.❤😊❤
