    So I guess technically this starts as a kit, but I’ve been traveling a ton the past 3-4 months and this was the fastest way to get exhaust pipes to my house to get this fabricated before the end of the year. You can definitely build the same style exhaust with piping from a local metal supplier. The good part is I’m only a few steps away from my first track day.

    Found this build yesterday, and I've watched THE WHOLE THING come together since then. Your videos make me so hype to finally start a project car when I don't have other commitments. I can't wait to see you drift around the track, and finally get some seat time!

      Austin C wow that’s a looooot if watching my face. Thanks for hanging in there and watching through the whole series. Seat time is coming soon!

    I am watching these in order so forgive me if you already know this. Sloppy Mechanic here on TH-cam has a 4.8 turbo Colorado cheap build. It’s amazing. He uses like a 300 Amazon/ebay Chinese turbo and works great.

      @FullySpooled  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't watched those vids yet, but that's my plan as well. Single turbo of questionable quality and send it. Those turbos have actually become pretty reliable over the years.

    Well done! your fabrication is looking better and better.

      Thank you! Welding is always tricky since you need to weld to get better and I don't have a ton of extra metal laying around, so I seem to improve literally every time I do it.

      Benjamin Glick thank you. I just added an axle back exhaust as well. I have some updates for that on instagram. I guess I know how to fabricate exhausts now.

    This is great stuff! I'm going to have to redo my exhaust on my sc400 since I'm going supercharge soon and the 2.5" tubing looks like it will be more than plenty! Keep up the build man! Can't wait to see more

    • @FullySpooled
      @FullySpooled  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      John Saeturn thanks! Yeah the 2.5 should be good for plenty of power. I’ve been reading anywhere from 500-600hp. I haven’t crossed supercharging off my list of possibilities either.

    Seeing this build come so far is truly amazing and inspiring. Can’t wait to see how much power she puts down

      Julian Slowik thanks. Glad to inspire if/when I can. I’ll get it on the dyno for tuning and power soon most likely.

    Beautiful job! :) As for exhaust size, 2 x 2.5" should be good for 600+ hp EASY, no need to go bigger until, well, it becomes a restriction.

    • @FullySpooled
      @FullySpooled  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      mrsabidji thanks! Good to know about the sizing. Hopefully it’ll be good for a while, but I can always upgrade later if needed.

    I've had that same chop saw for years. It helped a lot when I built the exhaust for my team's lemons car. (so did all my welding equipment lol)

    • @FullySpooled
      @FullySpooled  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      NinjaTechXES yeah it was huge in helping get this exhaust put together. No way I could do it all with an angle grinder.

  • @802Garage
    @802Garage 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    The exhaust looks awesome. Like a shop did it or something.
    Def seems like you learned a lot for if you ever have to do it again too.
    Gotta get me one of them chop saws sometime tooo.
    Car is looking great Jeff. Can't wait to see it move at speed!

      802 Garage I don’t know if I’d say it’s shop quality, but then again there are a lot of crummy shops out there. I’m counting down the days til the first burnout. It’ll make an amazing video thumbnail.

      Kenny Tivis I really wish I could. I still don’t have a new engine yet. It’s going to be a while before I can get the car up and running again.

      @FullySpooled  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I ran out of time before having to leave town and wanted to get the episode up. I will have the finished exhaust installed with a proper sound clip next vid!

    "I don't know all the science; just look it up." That exhaust came out looking really pro! Great work.

    • @FullySpooled
      @FullySpooled  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      bennyfactor thanks! Hah yeah I did a bunch of research on what type of exhaust the LS needs and landed on the x pipe. I’m sure it’s not a huge difference, but x pipes help open up the top end a bit. I’m all for it.

  • @IOwnCalculus
    @IOwnCalculus 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    That looks like a really solid kit to start with. And yeah, 2.5" exhaust won't be a restriction on power for a long time.
    If I ever start replacing (or cutting) crossmembers in my truck, I think I'll need to give building my own exhaust a try.

  • @GrandOnevia
    @GrandOnevia 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    What!? No exhaust sound clip? I wanna hear that X pipe.

    • @FullySpooled

      Glen Heleski working on it. I had to fly out of town again for another week. As soon as I get back I’ll get that clip for ya :)
