- Hello all. Due to many requests I have gotten on IRC and forums I made this video to show a possible solution to Graphic Card Nvidia GPU Crash Windows 7 8 10 FIX . Lior Bar-El I believe my bios was out of date, I bought a motherboard during lockdown and I think it was very old stock, only thing is now it double boots ?, checks voltage and comes on, I have no idea if this is a problem but my graphics card seems to be working fine, 4K games are 50fps
HI lior so my pc's problem is while running any game after few minutes or 20 minutes or my pc goes to bsod of hardware failure but while doing anything else it does not I have tried replacing my 1080 gpu with rx 6800xt problem is still there. Please help
Hey man. Thanks to this vid, you got a new sub. I bought an EVGA 1080 second hand as an upgrade from my old faithful GTX 960. Struggled to get Witcher running at all. During installation of the PC, afterwards, I watched this video and decided to let Windows just download the drivers and me downloading vanilla Nvidia Geforce experience etc, I managed to get Witcher running at Ultra with no dips whatsoever!
Thanks for your advice on the OC software. Never been a fan of OC’ing, due to the risks involved. Thought it was a PSU (3 y/o Antec 550W), RAM (8GB) or CPU (i5 4590). Luckily it was none of those things.

His computer was an optiplex build with a gigabyte GTX 770 wind force. I had to down clock the memory by 300 MHz.

my pc always runs fine..but when in time of game i got the problem...after 10/15 minutes of gaming the screen goes to black
Try this brother also try shutting down the pc then take out the video card start it wait 5 min shut down by force then put the card in and it should work.

After like 5/10 min of playing my gpu goes to 100% and my fps goes to 5... If i tab out game my whole pc is at like 5 fps and slow af.

I also got a new Gpu Msi Rtx 2060 and wehn i load up a game on like avarage settings it works for at least while i am changing settings, however when i turn on the highest settings, my screen goes black and my gpu's Fans start working at 100%
Great video, I recently got a evga sc2 1080ti for my system with a ryzen 7 3800x, everything was fine until my games kept crashing in the middle of game play or sometimes just when i opened the games. I followed the this video and it helped out a little bit but the problem was my PSU. My 600w couldnt handle the load of the GPU. Got a Corsair 750w and im getting more fps then before with no crashing 👍

ye me too today - i searched 5 weeks for a solution, was troubleshooting literally everything .. reinstalling windows 11/10 drivers etc etc.
i even had 3 sessions with both NVIDA support and microsoft support but only this helped and everything is running smooth now. Thank god

Nice Video man! Three years later and Nvidia still hasn't fixed this issue or just doesn't care. I have a EVGA 2070 Super XC Ultra and it stutters and crashes all the time in COD Cold War and it took me quite awhile to figure out what you show in your video. I have the in game GPU Clock overlay turned on and I noticed it turned red at 2010 Mhz. I used EVGA's Precision X1 to throttle it back down to 1800 Mhz and it doesn't crash anymore. I chose 1800 Mhz as that is what the max boost specs show for the card.

hey guy thanks for this vid.. iv had a great gaming pc for about 9 years now.. it has played every game to my satisfaction,...well earlier in 2021 (June i think) i decided to upgrade my garbage 740 GT graphics card with a 1050 Ti... and EVERY game (5+) crashed at load screen. i tried everything i knew and everything i searched for to help me out.. updating diplay driver, editing virtual memory, checking power settings.. everything.. i got SO gd frustrated i stopped using my pc altogether.
Last night i got the urge to try it out once more and turned my pc on for the first time in about 3 months.. so i got on youtube and found your video.. and it almost worked! i underclocked the way you showed and nothing, i underclocked both GPU and Memory ALOT and got 1 game (Sleeping Dogs) to work LOL.. so Im happy ONE game worked it means your solution is right.. i just need to do more and i have no idea what else i could do...if u have any suggestions i would be glad to hear them, thanks alot for giving me hope at least

Let me ask u this bro . Did you try taking ur pc fan out and reapplying thermal paste to it? What's ur cpu Temps? Also how strong is ur psu?

@@caseybarlow that doesn't matter brother because the cpu fan cools the cpu alone case fans make no difference only to the case Temps brother. Check and see . Also please let me know the power of ur psu.

please guide me am having issue like black screen after 20-25 min gameplay and low memory and crash error in some games (shadow of the tomb raider ) on my GTX960 4GB from last 5 days i tried to reinstalling the windows and using the lastest and diffrent old drivers nothings worked at all .

yo my pc has been running fine since ive gotten this 1070 ti a few months ago. But recently when ever i launch up a game it works for about 3-5 mins but then my screen either glitches or blanks out and makes a buzzing sound ive tried reinstalling my drivers but that didnt work either do you have a solution for this?

@@austinpeters6014 the problem that I had way back was the Nvidia gpu would legit oveheat even with new thermal paste on it so this stopped it from overheating for a period. Not sure if it would stop ur problem though but I hope it does gl
When i m playing a game, i have good fps but the games crashes or close or i get an error like "Video device removed" or "Run out of memory"... do you know what is the problem?
TDP is a measure of maximum power draw over time in real world applications. It does not represent the maximum power draw in pathological cases such as Furmark. OCing your card AT ALL, even a factory OC would require more power, even a fraction of an amount adds up over time in the TDP. BE CAUTIOUS when OC'ing anything. always check your power supply and components to make sure everything will run optimally.
Ive had my ROG 1070ti for some time now. Even with nVidia restricting clock speeds on a hardware level, i was still able to comfortably squeeze out more power paired with a 1200W power supply. most people typically have a 750W or greater so be sure to check the manufacturer's description and make sure you have adequate power delivery.
Im glad you found a temp. fix for people i could imagine the frustration of trying to figure this one out. always good to have any memory boost you can get, turning of the Aero or any transparent feature and the features you described is a must in my opinion if running on minimal RAM
Question : Dr. Lior, when i render my videos in Vegas, i have to manually set the Affinity of my Intel 5930k (No OC) to use only the 6 physical cores. whenever i try and render with the 6 physical and the 6 threaded, my vegas crashes partway through the render giving me the "oops, something went wrong" blue screen of death. any ideas?
RandoScrando i have a vudeo about this i also think part of tge strategy is here. This happends with virtual memory. Even though u have good memory stupod windows 10 reads it wrong. U need to set ur virtual memory right and it shoukd work. I have 8 cores 16 threads and it worked ever since i did that.

My GPU is a GT 1030 GDDR5, but it is the Exoc White OC model from Galax. In certain games, mainly A Hat in Time, Far Cry 3, and Sonic Generations the GPU will hard crash in a pink flashing screen with artifacts. Doesn't matter what driver version i'm using, and it it happens on Linux as well. However, some higher demanding games, like Sonic Forces and the Sonic P-06 don't crash like that. Stress Tests like 3D Mark's Fire Strike also don't make my GPU crash.
Now your video makes me think it might the factory OC done by Galax, as this GT 1030 model has 2% higher memory clock and 2% higher graphics clock.
By watching this video, it made me realize that my newly bought graphics card was pre-overclocked (Asus NVidia GeForce GTX660 Direct CUII OC). I didn't take in the "OC" part on the model when I ordered it. I dropped 199 MHz on MSI Afterburner and saved it as a profile and should apply automatically on cold-boot and restarts. I havn't got any problems since, so far.

@@ChuyWalage I think it was memory clock. That card I mentioned in my original post had the Kernel crash problem again and MSI Afterburner didn't fix it this time. Got a refund, purchased a GTX1050 TI. Working flawlessly.
Even if the problem didn't come back, it would be annoying having to load the profile setting each time I cold-boot my machine.

I have a gtx1050ti and it was working fine for 2 or 3 days, then suddenly games started to run at about 10 fps at best and the screen would freeze and turn black even after a few mouse clicks. Random programs would start but go black then crash suddenly with the black screen and back again. (this is my second one to do this)
Does this method work as a solution for these problems?
(edit) Just tried this using the Asus GPU tweak and lowered my overclock speed -149 (max) and changed the advanced graphic usage both to 4 gb, it still crashes games and display

I'm having trouble with a Nvidia Geforce GTX 760. A friend of mine gave me his old PC because he got himself a new one and there is a problem with the GPU. Before he gave it to me he started experiencing black screens while playing StarCraft II and then that problem happened randomly even when he wasn't playing. The problem consisted on black screens and the PC rebooting after. When he gave me the PC I cleaned the drives with diskpart and reinstalled Windows and when the time of installing the drivers of the GeForce GTX 760 came (the PC was connected to the TV with an HDMI cable through the graphic card port) the computer shuted down and it started rebooting on and on but never getting to the login screen, so finally a blue screen appeared asking for restoring the system. I did some tests and I can connect the computer to a screen through mother board port but as soon as I plug the HDMI from the GPU port to the TV the computer freezes and the signal is lost. I opened the GPU looking for faulty components but my untrained eye couldn't find any, I also cleaned the radiator and fans and replace the thermal paste and now it doesn't reboot but still freezes. I also tried installing old drivers although same result. Do you know what may be the cause?

So this happens to me all the time. I underclocked my gpu with 200mhz. (It's a gigabyte rtx 2060 oc edition). I bought it about two years ago and it has been doing this all the time. It freezes in all my games and also when im on my desktop. When i freeze i also disconnect in some games. I really really need help with this. Thanks!
hey man THANK YOU SO MUCH. my computer has been crashing for weeks, and so far it seems like this was the only solution for me. I bought a new PSU, tested temps, ram, drivers, you name it. I tried this and it actually worked. -90 did for me though. So how exactly does this make the comp not crash any more? i have a zotac gtx 970 and if im not mistaken i dont think its superclocked.

Before it would crash maybe five.minutes into a game. Also I ended up turning the men clock -200 and the GPU clock -200 Any forum you'd recommend for more help?

i just got a 1660super singlefan oc, I can play games but whenever I startup my pc and browse my news feed or anything that doesn't require my gpu to be used, after a couple minutes my games will crash after opening it. It all leads to graphic driver crash but all my drivers are updated
Does it say. Sum like graphic drivers crashed, make sure your graphic givers are updated to date or sum like that bc that's happening to me

I bought the EVGA GeForce GTX 980 FTW 4/13/15 (!!!) and, a very long story short which takes place over the past 3 years, I have switched out motherboards, countless attempts/disappointments on message boards/Nvidia technical support/TH-cam/YOU NAME IT MAN. Playing games at low quality, v-sync, frame rate tinkering... Skipping titles.. This appears to have worked for me! I have tested 3 games so far which, if past is prologue, crash my system and they have all worked so far! I downloaded/lowered GPU clock using OC GURU II and for fair measure, (and having 16GB RAM) I adjusted virtual memory to 16384, as you instructed.. WHY do they overclock these things before they leave the factory!?!?! Again, thank you so much. This is a 3+ year problem solved, I cannot possibly thank you enough. I hope this somehow isn't a fluke, I do not believe it is. I subbed to the channel and set for notifications, it's the least I could do.. Thanks! Oh, I should add... during gameplay, the display adapter would crash so my monitors would go black (I could usually still hear the game music/sfx) and I'd have to hard reset.
My pc will show artifacts all over the screen once I load up a game and it crashes completely, sometimes my pc will completely restart. I’ve updated the drivers. Uninstalled with ddu and used nvclean install to install the best drivers. I just don’t understand what to do.
When i turn on my pc and go to play csgo it sometimes freez or just restart pc,i have Asus gt74 OC version,so do i need to set my clock to more or less speed?
I can run a benchmark for an hour with 0 problems but when I get into games it randomly freezes for a few seconds then goes straight to desktop with no errors. I did notice that the gpu goes to 0% usage but the fans still run the speed I have them set to when it happens. I'll try this and see if it works or not

it crashed once. the solution was to delete then reinstall my driver. but your video helped fix 90% of the issue!

hey dude my problem is something like this,
i have to problems but they seem to be the same result
1: i start the game; some logos (glitchy) , the game starts, turns black, and then i can hear the audio and interaction but nothing to see
2: same thing but i can see it a little glitchy like glitchy effects and stuff

I would advise you have someone or at ur own risk if u are of age to take it apart. Remove the heat sink and reapply thermal paste. I bet either tge heat sink is dusty or tgey gpu needs reapplication of thermal paste. Now remember to take out all the termal past slowly with a qtip till it is all gone then reaplly new layer which us just a good drop in the center and close it all back up. I am sure all will run cool afterwards. Ur card should not get tgis hot unless ur case has too mych heat but still doubt it. It has to be thermal paste. How long have u had tgis card for .

Ok i downloaded the xtreme engine and set it to -200 and hit aplly...but then the screen goes black and comes back again and the -200 is back to 0...what should i do please help im desperate
Alright I've had an issue with my gtx 980ti for a long time. When I start my computer and Log in I have no problems. But whenever I launch a game that is a bit graphically intensive my computer just shuts off. I then have to unplug my computer and plug it back in to get it to turn back on. I have tried getting a new psu. And I have tried flashing the gpu's bios. I have no idea what else I could try

Hello! I have a Gigabyte U2442F laptop with an Nvidia GeForce GT 650M graphics card running on windows 8. I try to update it to its latest version because it's required for a game but everytime it tries to install the latest drivers, it goes into blue screen with message Unexpected Kernel Mode Trap and keeps on repeating. I remove the update and roll it back to 397. something and its okay.
What could be causing this problem? Is it my graphics card?

I have an issue with my replacement surface book first gen, the old one worked fine but had a screen issue and now my new model has a gpu issue and I don’t know if it’s a software or hardware. Essentially the issue is I was playing fortnite and the game after a while would crash I assumed it was a game issue but went on to test with GTA V and a few other games, GTA V again would after 20 minuets or so would crash and stop working so I now know it’s a gpu problem I have also tried installing an older gpu driver but didn’t work and now I will try to install a year old windows 10 update if it will let me.
