BanjoBen, is the palm of your right hand actually touching the bridge of the guitar while u r crosspicking? Or no contact at all? would love to know. U r explaining great btw. Keep going ;-)
if you listen and watch the vid, I think the answer to this question is no. As far as I can see Ben doesn't even anchor his right hand using extra fingers. 'Tis a mystery to me how this works. Ben, you must have done this quite a few times.
FIDDLER!! I cannot wait until you make a introductory video including the fiddler : D Also I am not sure if you take requests but I think Greensleeves sounds awesome although it isn't your style :p
Help! None of the flatpick teachers I've seen on TH-cam have ever mentioned what kind of flatpick is best for this kind of picking. Soft? Hard? Small? Large? Any particular brand? Thanks.
I am using a Dunlop .73 or similar (in the colored range, it's the orange one, but I prefer the grey .73 because it has engraved streaks which provide a better grip). That is, medium hard .. rather on the soft side.
Most will tell you a stiff pick is better. The reason for this is because it gives you more control (softer picks "give" and thus are less efficient) and better tone. I like 1mm at least, and preferably a bit thicker.
Sure! It's completely free to enter you're credit card info to become a gold pick member! Of course then you have to actually pay but entering the info is free!

What makes large print so funny is the element of truth.

Nice! Is that a 2012 D18 by chance?
Very nice.
its either a discontinued d-18v or a d-18 golden era. probably a d-18 golden era.
Nice hat!
The saddle isn't a 2012 D-18 Saddle
Hey Ben do u like Henderson guitars
Nice hat.
What is the lifer one time fee deal. I just pay that and never get charged again? That sounds like a good deal for a 70 yr old guy like me.
Have to be a lil slower for me to catch that roll ,dude sure like that.
What model of guitar are you playing? Looks like a dread shape but smaller!
+Shamim Miah That's a Martin D-18 Golden Era.
+Banjo Ben Clark That's what I thought
Martin D16GT?
Bummed to find halfway through perfecting this song that this is only half a tutorial -_- anyone know where I can get the tab...for free?

Sorry, Ben. The hat. Bad juju. Evil stuff, actually. Just when I was about to sign up, too. We're done.
I visited your channel and saw the videos you do "like," and I agree we're not a good match.
