The most scientifically accurate part of the Jurassic Park franchise is how far scientists are willing to go to get their studies funded.
Yup
that and Ben's death
I kinda agree with james they should have killed everyone except billy alan and Eric plus I think the coolest moment was billy saving Eric

also, can we talk about how the kirby's are scumlords that basically kidnapped grant and billy and forced them into a life threatening situation.
Robert Williamson yeah I get you’re trying to save your kid but what if they got back to the mainland, got taken to court, get sent to jail and the kid still gets taken away
@@tallybarnie5453 even if all of that would happen, which it should to be honest, at least their kid survives. The boy wouldn't be with them, but alive, something pretty important to most parents.
Then, when it comes to the kidnapping, Grant, while usually everything other than an idiot, decided to not run a background check on the Kirbys. I mean, even as little as to check if that company even exists would have been enough to call them out on their bullshit. But movie has to movie, so he blindly trusts them.
All that being said, that of course doesn't mean that any of the Kirby's actions are even close to being justified. And I was really hoping they'd kill off Mrs Kirby, when she started to yell all over the island. Seriously, there are dinosaurs there, and she brings a megaphone?
Speaking of which, I just realized the Coen Brothers' classic Fargo has two actors who have been in Jurassic Park movies - William H. Macy in this one and Peter Stormare in the previous one - and both play very similar characters across the films. Probably just a bit of typecasting though, plus now we know that Mrs. Macy was just as much a con artist as her husband played in the films.

All I remember about this film was that damn satellite phone Spinosaurus scene. Hearing the well timed jingle and then the Spino being right there was the most terrifying moment of the film for just how non-subtle it was.
A nice reference to Peter Pan.
It always made me giggle, just seeing a terrifying dinosaur and hearing a goofy jingle at the same time and coming FROM the dinosaur no less
I think the scene by the fence with the sound of the phone ringing was fantastic, being stuck on the same side of the fence with that spinosaurus is an effective scare ngl
I totally agree. The reveal is super creepy! I think it’s just all dialled down by the countless other chase scenes and shitty everything else

Weirdo
I always loved Jurassic Park 3 as a child. The movie shifts to the island and dinosaurs almost immediately and features many fascinating creatures. The filmmakers understood what the audience wanted and delivered in abundance in the movies 90 minute run-time.
Yeah. The movie doesn't overstay its welcome, and that's a significant thing. It's a quick little thriller with multiple effective action scenes, some superficially likable characters, and a svelte runtime that wraps it up before you get tired of it.
Yeah I don’t really get all the hate around Jp 3, I mean all the jp movies have unlikeable characters and everyone says they’re just fine so I don’t really get the big deal around JP 3
Yeah, the only reason people hate it is because the first Jurassic movies were literally the best movies ever at that time, but now we have stuff like 65 which is even worse than JP3 and people aren't hatin' on it just cause there wasn't a great prequel to it.
Speaking of that please bring back 90 minute movies not every movie needs to be 2-3 hours long
@@colinbaldwin313 and the characters acting realistically as well, the kirby family going back on family memories and alan being grumpy that hes stuck on another dinosaur island is all just really human
I have to say, I'm glad you mentioned the plane clipping the spinosaurus. I was confused as a kid watching this movie as too why the spinosaurus was so intent on hunting them, cuz I always thought the blood on the plane was coopers. Makes sense the thing is pissed for being hit.

Fun Fact: Since Owen stated in Jurassic Park that he used to be in the navy, it’s likely that he was on the navy crew that helped them get out of the island.
uhh... no, that's extremely unlikely, considering Owen is about 30 in Jurassic World, and this is 14 years before that, he would be a teenager at this time, and also even if he were full on navy already there are tons of possible deployments and it's extremely unlikely that he would be anywhere close to there, not to mention the fact that he's supposed to have been a Navy SEAL, and considering his fighting skills in JWFK, I believe it
Owen isn’t in Jurassic Park franchise

Fun fact: Amanda Kirby basically caused every death in Jurassic World and onwards (in theory). She failed to lock the bird cage door when leaving, allowing the pteranodons to escape and fly free. The person hired by Masrani to 'clean up' the pteranodons causing havoc over Canada (I think it was Canada) was Hoskins. Hoskins impressed Masrani with that job enough to land the job at Jurassic World. Hoskins being at Jurassic World enabled the entire plot to happen, from the Indominus Rex to the Raptor squad being let loose on the island.
Without the pteranodon escape thanks to Amanda's crappy locking skills, Hoskins likely would not have been on Isla Nublar during the events of Jurassic World, and the Indominus might have not been as modified, or escaped. If no disaster occured at Jurassic World, it likely would have continued operating safely, and before the eruption it's likely that all the dinosaurs were evacuated in time and safely, making no addtional deaths in Fallen Kingdom. Oh, and the Indoraptor wouldn't have existed either... so... yeah. Thank Amanda Kirby for the kill counts for the next two movies!
One door that wasn't Locked caused all that...what is the name of This effect? Chaos Effect?
Wow ,because that silly mistake ,the whole story change.
Yeah but don't forget the end of lost world (jurassic park 2) that there were pteranodons flying around freely in the closing sequence whilst John Hammond said they needed our absence so I think it's a bit of a grey area
@@katieocarinaoftime1986 That was a different group/breed of pteranodons.
Very nice theory my friend
Jurassic Park III holds a special part in my heart…i grew up watching it on
Cartoon Network Movie nights.
I still find it wild that Cartoon Network actually aired this a few times.
I remember I got this film for my birthday as a kid. It was one of my favorite childhood gifts, and I still have the VHS carefully presereved. What I appreciate about this movie is, for me, are two things:
1) Velociraptor packs from this film look and act different than those from the second film. The ones from The Lost World seem hostile towards one another just as they were in the first film. These ones seem more like a flock of birds that look out for each other rather than compete for dominance. Reminds me of hyena hostility withing packs.
2) The ever-growing obsession of InGen's genetic modification. I know it is all science fiction, so not all science is accurate, but many people believe spinosaurus was not bi-pedal, but walked on four legs. Whatever the case is, InGen is slowly toying with genetics engineering to make dinos "bigger, scarier and cooler", as many dinosaurs do not natuarlly look, including the velociraptors with that height. Even Billy and Dr. Grant confirm confirm with one another that InGen must have kept a lot of dinosaur experiments off the roster. I wonder if this lab they encountered was where they modified the dinosaurs. I am geeking out. I love background detail and Easter Egg stuff.
I got it for Christmas
I honestly love this film, even though other JP films outshine it I just love any big film with dinosaurs. Spino is such a iconic dino in this film, and plus the velociraptors are super scary
The Lost World is underrated... JP III ehh..
The Raptors were my favorite thing about the film. I legit think they are terrifying
Despite how stupid this movie can be I still love it and it has some of my favourite dinosaur sequences
I actually like this one more than the second one. That scene with the camper glass just felt like it took forever. And with three they went with more of a slasher film style. The pteranodons were awesome too.
I like how the raptors are smort
The scene where Grant blows into the raptor whistle gets me every time. It's a bit silly, but it's SUCH a tense scene. Plus, that raptor whistle is just cool as fuck, I want one.

17:07-17:14
This bit is not only funny, but ironic. In the original novel for The Lost World, there was actually a pair of camouflaging Carnotaurus on Site B. They were actually a pretty big deal in the book, managing to keep the Velociraptors AND the T-Rexes scared away from their territory. Their camouflaging was so good that they could blend in with the bars of a chainlink fence at night!
Yup! And that is where they got the idea for the Indominous Rex from! Pretty much everything in all the movies, is taken from bits and parts of the books!
Fun fact- the river scene is actually a reference to an event in the first book which was unfortunately left out of the movie.
If you read the scene, you'd know their very different
@@thatvalensteingirl do know what reading the novel is?
Yo, but honestly, that scene with the T-Rex in the river was crazy

@@marshallarts9198 misogynist much? This lady was just a stupid character. The makers of the script decided that she had to yell the whole time. The screaming was annoying to any man or woman or intersex person wachting this movie. However the writers/directors did that to the character unlike in the other movies. (I am a woman by the way). This is the first in the franchise with an annoying female character. But now you want to generalize this based on one thing which was most likely decided for by men (the makers of the movie).

Why does everyone hate the spino? He was a great dino not his fault that he had to be in a crappy movie
The Baryonyx because in reality its jaws wouldve broken as soon as it head clashed with the Rex. The Rex wouldve eaten it fast. The Spinos jaws were a lot weaker and weighed a lot less. The rex has a bite force if 6,800 pounds twice that of a saltwater crocodile, enough to cruch any dino skull quick.

16:00 I actually think that part was well set up and makes sense with the amount of intelligence it is suggested that the raptors have. They probably started seeing the humans as a similar species due to the calls. this fits nicely with some of the human vs human interaction seen the first time isolated tribes saw every other race. As well as mixed with how animals tend to react when we mimic them.

I honestly don't know why people hate this film, and especially hate the T.Rex death... the JP Spino is a cool dino man
I think the spinosaurus killed the first couple guys because it's aquatic and could disappear back into the water
I know it was originally supposed to be pterodactyls but it’s not revealed because the films script was changing during filming. 3 weeks before they were set to film they rewrote everything! The original idea was pteranodon were killing people on the mainland and they go there to investigate. The ending was supposed to be pterodactyls vs the helicopters.
Funnily enough the army refused to lend them the choppers because they said the dinosaurs wouldn’t stand a chance. They were cautious because of the 98 Godzilla movie made people feel bad for the lizard at the movie’s end. They didn’t want more bad press for the airforce so... rewritten and the mystery was dropped
Or because they were playing Katy perry far too loud and the dinosaur wanted to shat them up
Zealot of Peryite That’s what I was thinking
it's like jaws
instead it's.....fin- okay it's like jaws but it's more terrifying
But that's open ocean and I doubt a semi aquatic dinosaur could keep up with a speedboat

I have a soft spot for jp3. Its kinda camp, pretty silly, with some good intense scenes. Its super different from the others without taking itself too seriously. Love the pteranodon scene, and mrs kirbys WHATS A BAD IDEA??? always makes me laugh
As a kid, i loved this movie, spinosaurus fascinated me. While everyone was angry that the iconic trex got killed. I was fascinated to see a dinasour that beat the trex. I loved it.
While the sequels aren’t as good as the first, but I still enjoyed all of them including this one

Always the Women on Part 2 and 3 ruined the movies not the dinos!
Same
I think I enjoyed this one more than I should have since out of all my discs I used, this was the only one that had audio and I watched over and over again (btw this was before Jurassic World cus when that came out, my disc for it worked)
Them finding Billy first might not be as unusual as most people seem to think. When he was attacked, he was in water, floating down with the current while being chased by the pteradons. After he got out into the ocean, and into deeper water the birds might have given up trying to eat him. It's possible one of the ships or helicopters spotted him in the water and picked him up before they reached the island.
The spino was jutoit for blood, and i love that about it, there are some animals that are just pure, unbridled aggression, granted the spino may or may mot have been like that, but it's still interesting to think that it does have that aggression
16:12 Actually, when they trap the raptor behind the door at 9:07, Grant turns around in astonishment and says "My god...It's calling for help" and so he roughly tries to mimic the same call he heard earlier in the film. Whoever edited this blatantly left that part out. This movie isn't perfect but that point was pretty ignorant.
That Spinosaur river chase is a reference to the T-Rex River chase in the book.
But this time it fits the animal
Is it the part in the book where Grant and hammond's grand children travel through the river with the rex chasing but it couldn't catch them since there was a fence between them?
Oliver Bond look it up on TH-cam. It’s amazing.
Is it bad that i actually enjoy this movie? Yeah its not as good as i remember because i realized there's some plotholes but overall i really enjoyed this one. Like the Pterodactyl chase scene and Spinosaurus scene in the rain is so amazing to me because of nostalgia

Fun Fact: Jurassic Park 3 actually had a completely different characters except of Grant, and Billy and had a different and better plot. Another Fun Fact is that there was an actual huge ending segment that changes 2 character arches, Grant and Kirby who was supposed to be a different character completely. I didn't like JP3 as much as JP1, TLW, and Jurassic World. However JP3's original plot was said that Kirby was different characters. This is the official synopsis of the original plot of JP3: The new take on Jurassic Park III featured a story involving Pteranodon escaping from Site B and causing a spate of mysterious killings on the mainland, which was to be investigated by Alan Grant and a number of other characters including Billy Brennan, a naturalist named Simone, a tough military attaché, wealthy Paul Roby, and Roby's teenage son Miles. Grant's group crash-lands on the island, while a parallel investigation is being carried out on the mainland. The aviary sequence and laboratory set piece were initially much longer and more complex, including Velociraptor stealthily entering the hatchery as the team spends the night there. Sets, costumes, and props were built for this version, and a total of $18 million was spent until, just 5 weeks prior to shooting, both Johnston and Spielberg decided they were dissatisfied with this idea.

In Lego Jurassic World he says "Alan!" along with Ellie and Ian.
For me the velociraptors were the icons of the movie so I didn't really mind the Rex dying. And honestly the Spino was the best effect in the movie. Slightly less intimating than the Rex but they were a welcome change. Also it's amusing/horrify watching Mr Noddle die but his death in the Green Mile was way worse.

I'd honestly say spino is more intimating
The T-rex is bulky and brutish, whilst the spino has a kind of lean look that makes it appear somewhat more villainy. It looks malicious as opposed to merely intimidating. And it can use its arms as no T-rex could!

Hi shiny charmander *throws master ball*
Ding ding dingy-dong ding don ding don
Oh shit! That Snom has a knife!
I assumed hat the 2 guys on the boat in the beginning were killed by the spinosaurus because as we saw in the end, the spinosaurus could swim
But shouldn't the boat sink too, like how can the spinosaurus cleanly eat the people on the boat without moving or sinking the boat?
No one knows what did it BUT it purposely was left up to the fans
Why wouldn't they scream then?
Karim Gerges the boat was in choppy waters it was already moving frantically my guy lol
It was a mosasaurus
The dinosaurs in this movie are so much better looking than the past 2 movies. I love the og designs but the raptors and brachi are amazing
I honestly thinked that this movie was the most scary because of Cooper and Nash’s deaths and the spinosaurus roar
Honestly the initial scene on the island was really good. The moment with Cooper on the runway was really tense and then the guy getting eaten after the plane crashes. This film is by no means perfect but it is really underrated.
Axel Nilsson he forgot to count Billy’s death lol
@@sealzslayer Billy survives, you see him at the end
💩
Yeah 13 yo me thought this movie was really good. It was pretty regular to see this (and only this) Jurassic Park movie on TV
I just liked JP lll because it had dinos.
Who dosent love dinos?
LilyCanadian Same
Jeff Goldblum. Or his character at least.
Conspiracy theorists who think dinos never existed
🦖
True but I think it had too many pterodactyls
Fun fact this movie takes place on a different side of the island from the second film hence why the Raptors are different than the ones from that film due to adapting to a different environment/habitat
Didn't Grant mention it in the movie?
@@fidelgarcia2224 no I don't think he did because he was never on the island before
@@shadowrosegaming3566 correct he did say he was never on this island and Kirby confused it with the first one
@@Lopez03Eduardo. cheers mate
you are correct about it taking place at a different part of isla sorna but the reason why the raptors look different is becuase they wanted to make the raptors look more scientificly accurate remember the time they where producing Jpark3 was when palientoligits found out raptors had feathers.

James calls him a 'fuckin liar' with such anger I could just feel it through the screen.
"She sent the Navy and the Marines", "Well yeah, I'm pretty sure one needs the other to get where it's going..."
Im sure one isn't protected as much without the other
A few jarheads might take offence to that (not that I'm either a. Offended or b. A jarhead)
@@themanformerlyknownascomme777 everyone in the service knows marine stands for "my ass rides in Navy equipment"
@@themanformerlyknownascomme777 if those guys could read, they'ed be very upset.
I laugh to myself when I imagine Eric standing under a T-Rex with a container catching the dinosaurs piss 😂
Got it from the footprint like in the lost world
I’m still trying to figure out how he pulled that off and lived to tell about it
@@ubifan2522 he did the Trex a favor 😉😉😉😉😉😉🧐🧐🧐🧐
At 14:00, the reason why that the Ceratosaurus didn't do anything to the chraracters becaused he/she recognized that the poop was from the Spinosaurus. He/She must've been like "Nope, I'm not going to mess with that huge dinosaur. Nuh uh."
Vin Vasquez He said fuck that, I like to live.
Kaneki Ken lol
15:12 Spinosaurus: Excuse me? THAT's your idea of an attack? You measly human...
15:14 Spinosaurus: AH SHIT THAT BURNS!!!!!
“Lost world has its problems” the only problem WAS THE DOG DYING
yup
And that dumb gymnastic scene
What? That was the best part, finally, some variety kills besides humans and monsters.
@@anonymousgoji well that’s good for you considering I don’t care for pets.
@@guy1849 You monster. I mean, I am more of a cat person but no pets at all!
I like to think that the Velociraptors were trying to get Alan Grant's signature
Lol and the Spino was trying to give the guy his phone back
@@nolanc9432 The funny thing is, in the non-canon LEGO Jurassic World, in the ending cutscene for the Jurassic Park III section of the game, the Spinosaurus has the satellite phone in its hands, trying to offer them something on the call, which is automated, but the humans just run. A raptor proceeds to jump up and knock the phone out of its hand. The game is a lot more comical than the movies that were out at the time, and the Spinosaurus in particular is taken quite a bit less seriously than in the movie. The game also spares all of the human deaths and some of the dinosaur deaths, even though LEGO had no problem with that in their previous games.
Is it wrong that kid me REALLY loved this one more than Lost World 😂😂😂😂 of course neither were ever better then Jurassic Park 😂😂
Mia Borges I thought I was the only one who actually really liked this when I was younger
Mia Borges I loved this movie when I was a kid. That's probably why I still love it today lol
No.
i absolutely loved it over the lost world. i dont get the gripe with the spinosaurus. its good to have a switch up rather than just t rex again. also idk why people are mad that the spinosaurus won over the t rex. spinosaurus is a more effective predator and is also a lot bigger so its completely justifiable that itd win
I have always loved dinosaurs. So when I got JP3 on dvd as a kid I watched it probably 15 times in one weekend. I now fully know how bad it is but I can’t help but feel nostalgic watching it.
Best line: "spoiler alert! Billy's a fucking liar!" hahaha
17:03 was by far the funniest let’s get to the numbers.
Might as well add a ventriloquism act, especially with a carnotaurus
I also love Fallen Kingdom one
Factsss
I actually legitimately enjoy this movie and the Spinosaurus, with its relentless pursuit of the characters was really cool
Smiler Vlogs and Stuff this movie is my guilty pleassure
For me is objectively better than JP2
@cheese man same
@@gildardorosas8587 Way better than Lost World
12:00 is literally just the plot to angry birds
The little "yeah well fuck you" from the carno at the end killed me 🤣🤣🤣
"Snatches Eric like a wig" I swear even though the movies get worse, the jokes get better. Funny how the first 3 movies only have guy kills. Guess Ellie was right (at least for now.) when she said "Men go extinct, women rule the world". (Not an exact quote.)
“Dinosaur eats man, women inherit the earth”
Am i the only one who actually likes this movie?
I like the Spinosaurus and how the raptors look in this film
And the pteranodons.
Le Fun Shark you're right this is actually a good movie I don't know why it gets so much hate, I feel like one of the main reasons is just because the spinosaurus killed the T-Rex and people can't get over that
I Like It To.
I like this movie. Spinosaurus is my favorite carnivore
Le Fun Shark the Spinosaurus was amazing I love how it looks
They just should have not included the Rex and included exposition that they were on the other side of the island.
😂Dino Fight and that Carnotaurus puppet at the end.🤣James, you’re the best.😹
Nobody:
The raptor on the plane: alan
Yaaaaaawn.
THATS COOPER
Alan Alan Alan Alan Alan
Another comment makes the point that it's a callback to when Dr. Grant is talking to the parrot.
I have no idea why I laughed at this.
10:05 Another Pokémon reference
Five Nights at Froakies hello froakies
You’re here!?!?!
Why be a snacc when you can be a sam meal? Aim big people
Andrea Saldana dont you love it when TH-cam notifies you a day after the video comes out? No? Me neither.
Cam Nunes that happened to me
Andrea Saldana how is this 1 day ago when it came out 5 minutes ago
unreal gaming whoa
Jorge Mendez when TH-cam works its great, but when it doesn't its horrible
I have a soft spot for this movie, and after the original it's probably my favorite.
0:23 shoutout to James’ wink lmao I died
17:13 you made me spill my mouthwash
Watching Dead Meat when a Dead Meat notification pops up...Awesome.
I would have nightmares about dinosaurs too if I got a PHD in paleontology and saw real life dinosaurs and watched people die to them
