I remember I got this film for my birthday as a kid. It was one of my favorite childhood gifts, and I still have the VHS carefully presereved. What I appreciate about this movie is, for me, are two things: 1) Velociraptor packs from this film look and act different than those from the second film. The ones from The Lost World seem hostile towards one another just as they were in the first film. These ones seem more like a flock of birds that look out for each other rather than compete for dominance. Reminds me of hyena hostility withing packs. 2) The ever-growing obsession of InGen's genetic modification. I know it is all science fiction, so not all science is accurate, but many people believe spinosaurus was not bi-pedal, but walked on four legs. Whatever the case is, InGen is slowly toying with genetics engineering to make dinos "bigger, scarier and cooler", as many dinosaurs do not natuarlly look, including the velociraptors with that height. Even Billy and Dr. Grant confirm confirm with one another that InGen must have kept a lot of dinosaur experiments off the roster. I wonder if this lab they encountered was where they modified the dinosaurs. I am geeking out. I love background detail and Easter Egg stuff.
17:07-17:14 This bit is not only funny, but ironic. In the original novel for The Lost World, there was actually a pair of camouflaging Carnotaurus on Site B. They were actually a pretty big deal in the book, managing to keep the Velociraptors AND the T-Rexes scared away from their territory. Their camouflaging was so good that they could blend in with the bars of a chainlink fence at night!
Yup! And that is where they got the idea for the Indominous Rex from! Pretty much everything in all the movies, is taken from bits and parts of the books!
I honestly love this film, even though other JP films outshine it I just love any big film with dinosaurs. Spino is such a iconic dino in this film, and plus the velociraptors are super scary
I actually like this one more than the second one. That scene with the camper glass just felt like it took forever. And with three they went with more of a slasher film style. The pteranodons were awesome too.
16:00 I actually think that part was well set up and makes sense with the amount of intelligence it is suggested that the raptors have. They probably started seeing the humans as a similar species due to the calls. this fits nicely with some of the human vs human interaction seen the first time isolated tribes saw every other race. As well as mixed with how animals tend to react when we mimic them.
@@marshallarts9198 misogynist much? This lady was just a stupid character. The makers of the script decided that she had to yell the whole time. The screaming was annoying to any man or woman or intersex person wachting this movie. However the writers/directors did that to the character unlike in the other movies. (I am a woman by the way). This is the first in the franchise with an annoying female character. But now you want to generalize this based on one thing which was most likely decided for by men (the makers of the movie).
I know it was originally supposed to be pterodactyls but it’s not revealed because the films script was changing during filming. 3 weeks before they were set to film they rewrote everything! The original idea was pteranodon were killing people on the mainland and they go there to investigate. The ending was supposed to be pterodactyls vs the helicopters. Funnily enough the army refused to lend them the choppers because they said the dinosaurs wouldn’t stand a chance. They were cautious because of the 98 Godzilla movie made people feel bad for the lizard at the movie’s end. They didn’t want more bad press for the airforce so... rewritten and the mystery was dropped
Them finding Billy first might not be as unusual as most people seem to think. When he was attacked, he was in water, floating down with the current while being chased by the pteradons. After he got out into the ocean, and into deeper water the birds might have given up trying to eat him. It's possible one of the ships or helicopters spotted him in the water and picked him up before they reached the island.
The one thing that makes me really love the third one is the scene with the Spinosaurus with a phone ringing inside it. I watched this movie for the first time at 1-2 AM at my cousin's house and that scene KILLED me lmao. I like that the spino stars in this one, it's one of my favorite dinos
As a kid, i loved this movie, spinosaurus fascinated me. While everyone was angry that the iconic trex got killed. I was fascinated to see a dinasour that beat the trex. I loved it.
16:12 Actually, when they trap the raptor behind the door at 9:07, Grant turns around in astonishment and says "My god...It's calling for help" and so he roughly tries to mimic the same call he heard earlier in the film. Whoever edited this blatantly left that part out. This movie isn't perfect but that point was pretty ignorant.
I think I enjoyed this one more than I should have since out of all my discs I used, this was the only one that had audio and I watched over and over again (btw this was before Jurassic World cus when that came out, my disc for it worked)
I have a soft spot for jp3. Its kinda camp, pretty silly, with some good intense scenes. Its super different from the others without taking itself too seriously. Love the pteranodon scene, and mrs kirbys WHATS A BAD IDEA??? always makes me laugh
For me the velociraptors were the icons of the movie so I didn't really mind the Rex dying. And honestly the Spino was the best effect in the movie. Slightly less intimating than the Rex but they were a welcome change. Also it's amusing/horrify watching Mr Noddle die but his death in the Green Mile was way worse.
Oh my gosh, as a Mystique fan I love your profile picture! Also I agree. And I think they really made the velociraptors even more terrifying in that movie.
The T-rex is bulky and brutish, whilst the spino has a kind of lean look that makes it appear somewhat more villainy. It looks malicious as opposed to merely intimidating. And it can use its arms as no T-rex could!
Is it bad that i actually enjoy this movie? Yeah its not as good as i remember because i realized there's some plotholes but overall i really enjoyed this one. Like the Pterodactyl chase scene and Spinosaurus scene in the rain is so amazing to me because of nostalgia
The spino was jutoit for blood, and i love that about it, there are some animals that are just pure, unbridled aggression, granted the spino may or may mot have been like that, but it's still interesting to think that it does have that aggression
Is it the part in the book where Grant and hammond's grand children travel through the river with the rex chasing but it couldn't catch them since there was a fence between them?
This was one of the most comedic Dead Meats yet and it is GOLD. I love the shift between praising good movies and ripping bad ones yet still giving them a fair chance. A1 James A1.
Fun Fact: Jurassic Park 3 actually had a completely different characters except of Grant, and Billy and had a different and better plot. Another Fun Fact is that there was an actual huge ending segment that changes 2 character arches, Grant and Kirby who was supposed to be a different character completely. I didn't like JP3 as much as JP1, TLW, and Jurassic World. However JP3's original plot was said that Kirby was different characters. This is the official synopsis of the original plot of JP3: The new take on Jurassic Park III featured a story involving Pteranodon escaping from Site B and causing a spate of mysterious killings on the mainland, which was to be investigated by Alan Grant and a number of other characters including Billy Brennan, a naturalist named Simone, a tough military attaché, wealthy Paul Roby, and Roby's teenage son Miles. Grant's group crash-lands on the island, while a parallel investigation is being carried out on the mainland. The aviary sequence and laboratory set piece were initially much longer and more complex, including Velociraptor stealthily entering the hatchery as the team spends the night there. Sets, costumes, and props were built for this version, and a total of $18 million was spent until, just 5 weeks prior to shooting, both Johnston and Spielberg decided they were dissatisfied with this idea.
@Benjamin Hillan Well for me English is not my native language. So as a kid I barely understood it. I kinda watched English movies just visual. Okay so for the point; I remember JP2 having an incredibly lengthy and (at the time for me) boring few intro scenes without many Dinosaurs. The other movies got to the action quicker.
@@nicktongret6211 that's actually a pretty decent explanation for how he got ahold of it and his response to Alan's question. "How'd you get it?" "A T-Rex pissed on my head while I was hiding in a bush." 😂
This is exactly what I love about the kill count for. I hadn’t thought much about JP3 but wanted a recap before Dominion. I do not want to watch it (I have watched the OG, Lost World & Jurassic World) but James is perfect whenever I want to remember what happened in like Halloween 6
I have always loved dinosaurs. So when I got JP3 on dvd as a kid I watched it probably 15 times in one weekend. I now fully know how bad it is but I can’t help but feel nostalgic watching it.
"Snatches Eric like a wig" I swear even though the movies get worse, the jokes get better. Funny how the first 3 movies only have guy kills. Guess Ellie was right (at least for now.) when she said "Men go extinct, women rule the world". (Not an exact quote.)
Honestly the initial scene on the island was really good. The moment with Cooper on the runway was really tense and then the guy getting eaten after the plane crashes. This film is by no means perfect but it is really underrated.
11:27 I just can’t contain my giggles at the framing of this shot the Dino is looking at them like they’re in a movie theater and the humans didn’t turn off their cellphones
At 14:00, the reason why that the Ceratosaurus didn't do anything to the chraracters becaused he/she recognized that the poop was from the Spinosaurus. He/She must've been like "Nope, I'm not going to mess with that huge dinosaur. Nuh uh."
Fun fact this movie takes place on a different side of the island from the second film hence why the Raptors are different than the ones from that film due to adapting to a different environment/habitat
you are correct about it taking place at a different part of isla sorna but the reason why the raptors look different is becuase they wanted to make the raptors look more scientificly accurate remember the time they where producing Jpark3 was when palientoligits found out raptors had feathers.
@@nolanc9432 The funny thing is, in the non-canon LEGO Jurassic World, in the ending cutscene for the Jurassic Park III section of the game, the Spinosaurus has the satellite phone in its hands, trying to offer them something on the call, which is automated, but the humans just run. A raptor proceeds to jump up and knock the phone out of its hand. The game is a lot more comical than the movies that were out at the time, and the Spinosaurus in particular is taken quite a bit less seriously than in the movie. The game also spares all of the human deaths and some of the dinosaur deaths, even though LEGO had no problem with that in their previous games.
Most interesting thing about this movie is that it has some killer levels in LEGO Jurassic World, and that the Spinosaurus was the largest animatronic in film history as of me typing this comment. It was over 45 feet long and weighed over 25,000 lbs.

This bit is not only funny, but ironic.
The Lost World is underrated... JP III ehh..
The Raptors were my favorite thing about the film. I legit think they are terrifying
Despite how stupid this movie can be I still love it and it has some of my favourite dinosaur sequences
I actually like this one more than the second one. That scene with the camper glass just felt like it took forever. And with three they went with more of a slasher film style. The pteranodons were awesome too.
I like how the raptors are smort
The only characters that I wanted to survive was Alan, Billy, and....
THATS COOPER!!!

Fun fact- the river scene is actually a reference to an event in the first book which was unfortunately left out of the movie.
If you read the scene, you'd know their very different
@@thatvalensteingirl do know what reading the novel is?
Yo, but honestly, that scene with the T-Rex in the river was crazy
I’m talking about the book btw
16:00 I actually think that part was well set up and makes sense with the amount of intelligence it is suggested that the raptors have. They probably started seeing the humans as a similar species due to the calls. this fits nicely with some of the human vs human interaction seen the first time isolated tribes saw every other race. As well as mixed with how animals tend to react when we mimic them.
That was the funniest “Let’s Get To The Numbers” so far imo XD

its women what do you think
@@marshallarts9198 Calm down, kid.
She is annoying in most movies I've watched. And the constant yelling here really made me want to switch of the movie.
@@glori3051 she was screaming cause she was looking for her son, she didn't want to accept that he might be dead
I think the spinosaurus killed the first couple guys because it's aquatic and could disappear back into the water
Or because they were playing Katy perry far too loud and the dinosaur wanted to shat them up
Zealot of Peryite That’s what I was thinking
it's like jaws
instead it's.....fin- okay it's like jaws but it's more terrifying
But that's open ocean and I doubt a semi aquatic dinosaur could keep up with a speedboat
Jurassic Park III holds a special part in my heart…i grew up watching it on
Cartoon Network Movie nights.
I still find it wild that Cartoon Network actually aired this a few times.
Gorden Ramsey comes out of the bushes shouting “RAAAAAAWWW”
RAAAAAWWWW-RRRR
Grant: I want something to eat. Would it be possible to eat a dinosaur?
Gordisaur ram. :It's fu*king rawwwwwwww
haha
This movie is so RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWW
Sir It's actually spelled 'Gordon Ramsay'

“Yo we got Alan Grant in the house” I cried for 10 minutes straight
I was waiting for someone to mention it😭

As a kid, i loved this movie, spinosaurus fascinated me. While everyone was angry that the iconic trex got killed. I was fascinated to see a dinasour that beat the trex. I loved it.
Fun fact: the ringtone coming from the Spinosaur's gut was meant to serve as a twisted parody of the clock in the crocodile's from Peter Pan.
No I didn't know that that's pretty cool
@@REALRXBEL Well now you know. Lol
I’ve had it as my ringtone for like 10 years and I never knew that! Cool

@Jebat Khalid imagine if it was Cooper at the end instead of bills, what a plot twist it would be.
@@РостиславЛатипов-ю3у no, that IS cooper!
While the sequels aren’t as good as the first, but I still enjoyed all of them including this one
Nightmare I agree
Always the Women on Part 2 and 3 ruined the movies not the dinos!
Same
I think I enjoyed this one more than I should have since out of all my discs I used, this was the only one that had audio and I watched over and over again (btw this was before Jurassic World cus when that came out, my disc for it worked)
I'd honestly say spino is more intimating
The T-rex is bulky and brutish, whilst the spino has a kind of lean look that makes it appear somewhat more villainy. It looks malicious as opposed to merely intimidating. And it can use its arms as no T-rex could!
Is it bad that i actually enjoy this movie? Yeah its not as good as i remember because i realized there's some plotholes but overall i really enjoyed this one. Like the Pterodactyl chase scene and Spinosaurus scene in the rain is so amazing to me because of nostalgia
ikr

The spino was jutoit for blood, and i love that about it, there are some animals that are just pure, unbridled aggression, granted the spino may or may mot have been like that, but it's still interesting to think that it does have that aggression
That Spinosaur river chase is a reference to the T-Rex River chase in the book.
But this time it fits the animal
Is it the part in the book where Grant and hammond's grand children travel through the river with the rex chasing but it couldn't catch them since there was a fence between them?
Oliver Bond look it up on TH-cam. It’s amazing.

I feel like that would be good

Okay so for the point; I remember JP2 having an incredibly lengthy and (at the time for me) boring few intro scenes without many Dinosaurs. The other movies got to the action quicker.
There was a YA book about how Erik survived his 8 weeks and honestly, it's not that bad. Also explains how he gets the T-Rex urine.
How does he get it?
